I have been here a couple of times for me and a couple of times with my mother. They have an open air machine. You don't have to get stuffed in a tube and freak out while you have to lay still having claustrophobia attacks the whole time. The whole staff is great. They are friendly and accommodating. They anticipate your anxiety, and calm you - no matter what. My mother was SO upset by this but she was smiling when she walked out. They have LONG HOURS. They will call you for cancellations to get you in earlier. The fact is that no one really likes to get MRIs. These are just better than all the rest. I have to admit that I have fallen asleep while getting a MRI Here. Rest assured that you're in good hands. They greet you and you fill out the forms. You wait for a few minutes. When they bring you back, you have a private room to change in to the sexy gown that you will be wearing while you are being MRI'd. There is a locker where you can store your clothes and items as well. When you go in they make you very comfortable and secure so you don't move during he procedure. In a few short minutes (30-40) you are done and ready to go home. GREAT PLACE! If you have to suffer through a MRI, you might as well do it in LUXURY!!! read more

I just had my second MRI here. I came the first time about 5 years ago because i am extremely claustrophobic so my doctor recommended them. Each time the appointment was easy to get, the staff are very professional and helpful with any concerns. The hours are very accommodating, my appt was early on a Sunday which i appreciated. AI had three visits in three days. The front office people are a bit unorganized and they have people filling in who have other job descriptions. The x-ray technician's are professional & friendly. They answered all my questions. In particular, a female employee named 'Sal' was very helpful all three days. She made this experience easier to complete due to my high propensity for claustrophobia. I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to getting MRIs. Sergio, the MRI tech was AMAZING at calming my nerves and making me feel safe and comfortable. I'm so grateful I was referred to this location. This was my second attempt at having an MRI. I couldn't do the traditional closed machine. All the staff here, from the front office to technicians were very professional and courteous. The MRI techs (I'm sorry but I didn't get their names) knew I was apprehensive and took their time to explain the procedure. They checked with me through out to ask how I was doing and before I knew it I was done. I think I actually fell asleep for a few minutes! Had an MRI earlier this year. All staff was courteous and friendly. Got in swiftly. MRI tech was great. Explained everything. Had contrast, and he was very courteous and told me to ensure to drink lots of water to flush contrast out of my body. Test was about 45 minutes but they made it comfortable. Gave me a cd with results to bring back to my doc. Minus 1 star for being a little run down. But great courteous service. Better service than Centrelake. read more

She laughed and was being a sarcastic about not knowing the dr phone number either. I asked her to call them since they have done that in the past. She laughed and kept saying well idk their number. I told her you looked up my name and ask for dob and she pulled up my info. So I told her it's the same dr. She laughed and I said ok well here's your company review ok poor customer service. I was there Dec. 2nd, walked in @0807, the girl at front desk where I checked in was super nice. She was helpful and went through all the paperwork with me that I had to sign. The MRI tech that was there that morning was superb!!! He was also very helpful. He explained every detail that needed to be done, and more importantly, he helped me so much to calm myself down. I knew the machine was an open one, but for some reason, I started panicking when I was halfway inside the machine so I had the tech pull me outta there lol. He calmed me down by talking to me again before trying it for the 2nd time and thankfully it went by fine. While inside the machine, I turned my head on the side where I could see the open side, be able to breathe, and not get claustrophobic. Thank you so much to those 2 staff that were there!!! I have Kaiser in Baldwin Park and they do not have an open MRI and I get terrified of the closed one. I was told Downey was the closest to me and honestly, they aren't that close. But a nice lady explained the procedure and took the time to be sure I was comfortable. I ended up coming here and luckily they have 630am appointments and it helps with the traffic from Glendora. Hardly late for work and the office staff and techs are very kind and patient. This is the place I'll insist on going to from now on. read more

Andre did my MRI two times out of the three I've been there. He is absolutely amazing. He made sure I was comfortable and felt safe at all times. He also let my husband sit near me and hold my hand (while I got my liver area done). If you are horribly claustrophobic and you need an open MRI, this is absolutely positively the best place for you to be. Everyone there is so polite and caring and their technicians are the absolute best. They walk you through everything and are by your side every step of the way. They are so comforting and reassuring that, even though it takes a little while, it's nothing like some of the other places I have been. I am so grateful to have found this place, and not have to deal with other locations in Southern California that say they have open MRIs, they really are not as open As Downey MRI's are. I have many doctor appointments due to several medical issues and when I check in for an appointment, I rarely get the true feeling of being welcomed and valued. Downey MRI is so different! Literally from beginning to end everyone was super amazing. The staff that check you in are welcoming and very respectful. The technicians who facilitated my MRIs were amazing!
