It was swimming in red sauce with a huge thick piece of Mozzarella on top. There was no meat in the cannelloni only frozen thawed spinach. It was awful. The minestrone soup was thin and flavorless. We got the yuzu salmon, unagi, cajun tuna I wouldn't get again, paprika salmon, which we loved, salmon belly so yummy, sea urchin was pretty good too. sweet shrimp, galbi wow wonderful, soft shell crab, yellowtail collar had good flavor but they over cooked it, grilled mackerel was really salty, johnny and rock & roll were ok. We tried five different places that she chose based on the group's preferences. We had a cocktail, a coffee drink, a dessert, and a few different dishes from midtown restaurants. I never felt full (the F word!) but I was happily satisfied at the end. I had never eaten at any of these places so now I know more great places to try. Dawnie has an amazing depth of knowledge about the area, the food scene, and the history of our Farm to Fork capital. She loves the city and it shows in how she highlights it in her tour. The biggest surprise for me was the street art. I had never noticed these murals nor did I realize we had a history of street art and unique festivals. I will definitely be checking those out more in the future! I hope to do more of their tours and explore other parts of the city in the future!

I know that sounds wild, but I just couldn't convince my brain that I was actually eating beef! That said, the calamari was delicious, as were the roasted artichoke hearts. We also really enjoyed the seafood linguine, which had great flavor. Add a couple of adult beverages and some good conversation, and it made for a great date night away from the kids. Then, we find the small crouton-looking things on the plate WERE the peaches. They were not fresh, they were tiny, shriveled and had the texture of a dried peach. Also, cold. Probable been in a cooler for a few days. This was terrible, no excuse for this garbage. The greens and dressing were good, in fairness. -Service was just OK. Server was a little hard to understand, and took a very long time to come take our order. He was friendly enough I suppose, but a bit awkward. Verdict: We will not be back. Nice looking place but the food was absolutely sub-par. How this food earned 4 and a half stars on Yelp is one of God's great mysteries.

I'd definitely dress up for dinner though. Let's keep it classy, folks! All the staff were friendly and welcoming, from the hostess to the omelet chef to our server Silas. He was great at refilling our bottomless mimosas (included in the $23/person buffet). Our party of 8 was seated in the semi-private Coriander room, aka "the fish bowl". It's floor- to- ceiling glass walls gave us enough privacy to really enjoy each other's conversation and not be distracted by any other patrons. I felt like a very important person as I was eating my 3rd plate of buffet food and sipping on my mimosa! Food was delicious. I had no complaints about anything I tried-and I pretty much tried everything. Don't judge. The "usual" breakfast items included diced country potatoes, bacon (OMG SOOO GOOD), sausage links, French toast (perfectly done), waffles, biscuits and gravy (different from any other b&g that I've ever had and worthy of a "must try" label), cinnamon rolls, and a made-to-order omelette station. But the real brunch winners for me were the blackened pork tenderloin over mashed potatoes and the chicken enchiladas. The pork was tender and well seasoned and the garlic mashed potatoes had a perfect consistency. The enchiladas were thick and full of cheese, green chilis, and moist chicken. Huge shoutout to Kourtney, who was absolutely amazing. She has such a bubbly personality, always checked on our table, kept our drinks refilled before we even had to ask, and greeted us with the warmest smile. You can tell she genuinely enjoys what she does, and it made our visit even better. The manager Chris, was also fantastic!! There was another tall manager with tattoos who was super friendly and on top of everything as well. It's clear this team takes pride in providing great service. Every visit here has been a great experience, but Kourtney truly stands out. She goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome, and that's not something you find everywhere. The first time was about a month ago when my husband & I ordered the Second City BBQ deep pizza. It was absolutely drenched in BBQ sauce, and that's all I could taste. Yesterday was my second pickup order, and this time I got the Canadian bacon/pineapple deep pizza. It was great. The only issue was that I asked for Parmesan and red pepper flakes, but it wasn't until I got back to my hotel room that I noticed I'd only been given one packet of parm cheese. I guess that's all I get since they offer 30% off pizzas on Tuesdays!

Recently I was able to enjoy a weekday lunch at the Folsom Olive Garden (OG). It's one of my…read morefavorite places to eat. We timed our visit to intentionally avoid the peak high noon lunch crowd. Hubs and I got there a bit after that. Less hubbub. Our lunch was fantastic from the service, food, and ambiance. As is the majority of our experiences here. Lunch specials run about $15 (without a beverage) and only offered on the weekdays. Hubs got spaghetti n meatballs and I got chicken parmigiana. All meals include choice of salad or soup and garlic breadsticks. We opted for the salad. Our server did an awesome job of making sure our beverage was kept topped off and offered more salad or breadsticks. Endless! Bring it. I luv their salad, it's always so fresh looking and tasting. The bread is deliciously addicting. My chicken parm was tender at a nice thickness. If you order food to go, it's beautifully, meticulously packaged. The interior is always kept clean and comfortable. Devoid of clutter and unnecessary kitschy decor. You have a choice to sit in a table or booth in the dining room or to eat in the bar area. The bar is a separate room. They can accommodate solo diners to big ole groups. There were a couple of slight hiccups in the beginning of our meal. At first the host sat us right next to an occupied table even with four other unoccupied tables around in the same area. We asked for one of those. No biggie. When our server left after dropping off our drink orders, he didn't immediately come back. But Hubs wanted to order with him and not use there electronic tablet on the table. But that was quickly communicated. So our server must have taken a mental note and assisted us without the use of the tablet throughout the rest of the meal. Awesome. Plus I keep reminding Hubs he's not telepathic. At the OG, you can use the kiosk to order and pay. And even play games.
