The food is very good, flavorful, well prepared, and consistently enjoyable. On the other hand, the service can be inconsistent. Some of the servers have displayed less-than-welcoming body language or facial expressions, which can affect the overall experience. The ambiance is nice and inviting, although it can get a bit loud at times. When paying with a credit card, remember that a 3% fee is charged without notice. Well - went into this place with high expectations based on reviews. Interior was cool and restaurant was bustling. I ordered the orange martini and asked if it was sweet - server said no... it came a couple mins later not full and extremely sweet. I asked her to pls fill the martini glass and use vodka to cut the sweet. Came back as palatable, albeit still sweet. Lunch came and the gumbo was excellent! Wife's shrimp po boy was on a bun, not a roll as expected, and was meh... lacked flavor. Still acceptable and came with an order of fries that was great. When the bill came I noticed the martini (14$) was on the bill as expected, but also had an addl 8$ for an extra shot. I asked what this was for and she said she added more Tito's, so I was charged. So now we have one full Tito's martini (still over sweet) for 22$. Wish I would have just returned the shitty drink and ordered a beer. When no bartender at place and servers need to make drinks this shit happens. Dumb move as we'll not ever go back. Lesson learned. Food is good, but stick with beer in this place. read more

Stopped by the green door on my lunch break from work and ended up staying here until the start of dinner. This recommendation from a friend who was local to the area was right on time. It was a warm welcome from the door to my table. Logan was right there to accompany me with water and a bright smile. Ended up having a great conversation with the table next to me and it reminded me to live in the moment. Great way to slow down my day and this food brought me the energy I needed to finish strong. The burger was delicious and I tasted the love in it. Even down to the fries and ranch. Always have a second stomach for desert and especially cause the whole atmosphere felt so homey. Boy, I wanted to like this place that was recommended to us by a local shop owner, but...... Service was spotty. I actually got up from the table to hunt down some salt, pepper and hot sauce. Food wasn't all that great. The flatbread pizza is like a cold cracker crust. The toppings are minimal, so it was more like eating a large dry cracker with a dab of goat cheese or mushroom here and there and dry arugula thrown on top. The fried green tomatoes had an old taste to them. The jambalaya and red beans were ok but, by far, not one of the best we've had. The restaurant was full of locals. I called more than an hour ahead to confirm that they could accommodate a party of 18. I specifically explained that we did not need to all sit at one long table. In fact, I mentioned that a single long table often makes it difficult to socialize because people on opposite ends are essentially sitting across the restaurant from each other. I suggested that several tables grouped near one another would work perfectly, and I was assured that could be accommodated. Part of our party arrived first while the rest were finding parking. While we were waiting, a party of eight was seated in the middle of the restaurant, and before them, a party of two was also seated in the middle of the restaurant. When I arrived, I discovered that our group had been split between opposite ends of the restaurant. Part of our party was seated in one corner, while the rest were placed in the opposite corner, with multiple tables separating us. I asked if we could use some of the smaller tables around us so that our group could at least be seated closer together, as I had originally requested. I was told no because it would be too difficult for the server, especially since another large party had just been seated. After calling ahead and clearly explaining that I did not want our group spread across the restaurant, the solution they chose was to literally seat us across the restaurant from each other. At that point, it felt as though they simply did not want to accommodate our party. This is my last attempt at this place. My friend and I went for lunch today. She got a chef salad that I had a tablespoon of cheese and one cherry tomato and the rest was filler with the meat. I got the macaroni and cheese and a ridiculously small salad that had 1 cherry tomato in it. The macaroni and cheese was mushy and had very little flavor. What a huge disappointment as I had to pay almost $30 to include the tip. I just don't see how anybody would like this restaurant. I will never be back and neither will my friend. We had our first visit during the downtown Christmas festival and had hour and a half wait when told it would be approximately 15 minutes. We both ordered the rice and beans and jambalaya but had to wait another hour to receive them once we finally got a table. We decided to try again two weeks later and called to make reservations. Always loved the green door in Dade city so when they opened closer to me I had to try it . The decor is very homey in a modern way . We were seated quickly and greeted by a great server . Beer and wine only but when they didn't have my favorite the server said we have one very similar and she was right I loved it . We came for a late lunch and hubby's burger was perfect in every way served with homemade potato chips. I had this wonderful turkey sandwich on ciabatta bread with bacon and avocado. Hostess came over to see if everything was to our liking our server was seating a table of 8-10 . Everything was perfect and the other big test was the restroom was immaculate. Open bar, extremely accommodating staff for guests with food restrictions (I saw a Ribeye steak dinner come out for a gentleman) and the food was very tasty as well. We recently moved to the area and have been looking for new places to try. After reading the reviews and looking over the menu, decided to give Green Door a try. Overall, we were quite pleased with the restaurant. The have two different rooms for dining- the main area and then an overflow room. We were sat in the overflow room.....this room could definitely use some TLC. Our waitress was great! Checked on us often and made some good suggestions as well. I was a fan of their food as well. I had their Crema pasta dish- yum! We also ordered dessert, which I highly recommend. Their prices are a little high, but it's worth it based on the quality. Would return in the future! read more

Absolutely fantastic. After being turned away from another restaurant, our group of 7 made our way to the Green Door. We were seated immediately with a smile. Our server, Logan, was exceptional. We were celebrating a birthday, and met here as some were coming from Orlando and some from Tampa. Perfect spot. Ample parking in the back. Great menu. The drinks were superb. Started with the fried green tomatoes and the spinach dip. They were wonderful. Then, we tried the shrimp and grits, the jambalaya, a salmon salad, a burger and a roast beef sandwich. Something for everyone. And everyone was pleased with their selections. No one hurried us. No rush. It was wonderful. And we all got a dessert to go, from cookies, cake, bread pudding and key lime pie. Again, something for everyone and everyone pleased with their selections. I visited Green Door on 8th for the 1st time & had a wonderful experience. We arrived around 7:30 PM & it was perfect weather to sit outside. The inside of the restaurant is quite small but good vibes especially for a date night. We started out with the Meridian Shrimp for an appetizer which was gulf shrimp sautéed in a seasoned butter sauce with banana & peppadew peppers, finished with a signature aioli ($13). It reminded me a lot of the bang bang shrimp from Bonefish Grill. They were quite large & absolutely delicious. For the main entree I chose the Filet Mignon ($41) a hand-cut 8 oz steak with potatoes & Mac N cheese. It typically comes with vegetables, but I sub it out for the mac & cheese. The steak was cooked to perfection, the mashed potatoes were buttery and delicious and the mac & cheese was mouth watering. For dessert I got the bread pudding and it was a hands-down one of the best I've ever had. I have absolutely no complaints about the food and the service was just as great. This was a cute little find in Dade City. Such great ambiance and really pleasant service will definitely have us returning. The rack of lamb was probably some of the best I've eaten. Our second time here for Sunday brunch -- yum! We always sit outside on the patio. It is facing a parking lot but still lovely, especially on a nice weather day. The servers are very professional. The interior is a cute, a wonderful re-use of an old space. It is small inside, so it might get loud at times. We love the brunch menu, there are so many amazing choices, and the prices are good too. I got the biscuits and gravy, and I think they were the best I ever had! I also got a cup of the jambalaya, it is spicy and just as good as the jambalaya I've had in the French Quarter in New Orleans. For example, we got there before another couple but they were almost seated before us (same # of people in their party and ours). Cocktail was so-so but the chips and cheese were delightful. Main meals were delicious. My hamburger was perfect. We ordered two desserts and highly recommend the bread budding made by the owner. Ours was a white chocolate bread pudding (they change it up often we were told) and everyone agreed they would return to Dade City just to order that! Service: We were greeted at the door as we entered and shown to a table. Our waitress immediately came to the table to take our drink orders. The staff was friendly and we received our meals within 10-15 minutes. Food: I ordered the JAMBALYA and found it tasty and not too spicy. The portions were just right. My wife enjoyed the GO GREEN TURKEY STACK. As the official food taster in our family, I felt it my duty to snack on the homemade potato chips that came with her meal--they were delicious. Prices: We found the prices to be reasonable. It appeared that most of the meals ranged from $12-$15. I've attached a picture of the menu we were given so you can see the prices on this date. Visiting a friend out in Dade City, this is my 2nd time out here and first visit to the Green Door.... Sunday brunch. There was a pretty good wait. Seems like it's a great place in town.... ...so I bought a couple cookies while we waited. The regular chocolate chip cookie was AWESOME - super soft and great taste. However, the Reese's peanut butter cookie wasn't as impressive. Once we sat, we ordered some waters, then our food... I had the chicken and waffles and my friend had the meatloaf Benedict. Yes, you heard me...MEATLOAF! Strange, but I tasted it and it was REALLY good. Do yourself a favor and if you like a good Benedict, get it. The service could have been better. I cannot recall her name, but she was nice, but not very attentive. I had a to wait quite a bit to even ask for some butter to put on my waffle before pouring some maple syrup over it. And once I got the butter in a bullet, it was such a tiny amount (like enough for a half piece of toast), I had to get another one which took even longer to get and that one had more in it but it was frozen. So, make sure you request the butter in advance....hopefully it will be softened enough that you can spread it on your waffle and enjoy the food while it's hot.
