Realizing it has been more than thirty years since those first visits makes it even more meaningful to see the restaurant still open today. I am sure the family behind it had been serving the community long before I ever moved to Dade City in the late 80s. The fact that they are still here after so many decades says everything about their dedication and the quality of what they serve. Some reviewers talk about a lack of spices, but that was never my experience. Little Mexico always delivered real flavor and real consistency. They never needed to rely on anything flashy. They simply cooked good food and stood by their recipes. If a restaurant can maintain a positive reputation across generations, it means they earned it. I truly hope the family is doing well. Seeing them still succeed after all these years brings back memories and emotion I was not expecting. It feels like a piece of my childhood is still standing strong.

The bean and cheese burrito was made with whole beans instead of refried beans, which caught me off guard since I've always associated a traditional bean and cheese burrito with refried beans. It wasn't necessarily wrong, just not what I was expecting. One of my tacos also had the meat clumped together, almost as if it had been reheated in a microwave, which affected the texture and overall experience. Overall, everyone's tastes are different, so it's still worth trying for yourself. But having grown up eating Mexican food in Southern California, this one just wasn't for me, and I don't see myself returning.
