Well, I gave 2 stars to be nice. The young lady taking the order couldn't find the blizzard I wanted and then answered a personal call on her cell phone during the time we were placing the order. The food was mediocre, they didn't flip the blizzards. The place was clean but the service leaves room for improvement. read more

DQ for ice cream anyone, it's doubtful you'll get any argument from many when you make the suggestion to visit any of their locations. I was surprised to see this place void of any customers when we arrived. The staff was muddling around the kitchen while the manager did paperwork at one of the booths in the dining area. The restaurant looked okay for the most part, the kitchen looked somewhat in disarray not dirty just a little unorganized with bun racks and stuff piled up, the lighting in the kitchen area was noticeably dim - I'm not 100% sure but I think FDA requires at least 50 luminous in food preparation areas I'd say this area was lit up less than half that. I wasn't too concerned I was ordering soft serve that was prepared in an area off the kitchen and the lighting was much better. The staff was stolid, not unfriendly by any means just disconnected it's seems the entire staff was made up of young teenage girls and the manager looked like a woman in her early twenties no one seemed motivated and it looked like they were all in count down mode to close. While we enjoyed our novelties the employees openly engaged in their personal discussions and not one soul entered the restaurant during our visit here. The one in Hiawassee has gotten better, but I rarely eat anything other than ice cream in the form of a Blizzard!

We've enjoyed stopping and eating at the Clayton GA location many times and have always had a positive experience. Recently, it appears there has been a change in management which has not resulted in positive changes. Our food was served on a dirty tray which had dried up ice cream on it. The restaurant and surrounding premises are not clean and well kept, and the food is very average. Very disappointing. Don't recommend. read more

I usually do not leave bad reviews but cannot help myself this time since I have been a fan of Dairy Queen for many years. I stopped recently at this DQ on a Tuesday at 5:30 and was surprised that I was the only person there since it had been a warm day and they are located on the major road through town. After my visit, it is no longer a mystery ! When I entered the store, an employee who was sitting out front on his cell phone got up and went behind the cash register. He did not say anything to me but kept talking on his phone. I ordered a medium soft cone and handed him a five since he never told me how much the cone was but I thought the five should cover it. He handed me the change but never said a word. I waited at the cash register and did not see that further down the counter another employee had made the cone and set it out on the counter. I then heard that employee say medium cone. The ice cream was really soft and melting down the side as I picked up----what a mess. Anyway, this DQ is not doing the overall brand any favors here. read more

This is a great Diary Queen location. They do not have a drive-thru, so I went inside to order carry-out. The blizzards came out in less than 3 minutes, and all of the workers were very friendly. This is the perfect place to stop with kids. read more

Stopped in a few days ago for chicken fingers and a milkshake. Fingers were not freshly made but milkshake was great. Not greeted by any employee nor was a friendly word spoken during the wait. No "thank you" or "come again" when departing. I'd really like to see this DQ succeed but, unless they develop some people skills, they will fail. read more

The young lady who served us was polite and friendly. We were surprised to learn they did not have chocolate soft serve, which my wife prefers. That seems unheard of from my experience of having a sister who has owned multiple Dairy Queens. But the prices were reasonable and the cone and sundae tasted like they were supposed to taste. read more

There are 18 people in line. Only one cash register works. Employee said the owner won't fix the other one because it cost too much. The AC in the front is broken. Same response that the owner won't spend the money. If the owner is too cheap to fix these things, can you imagine what they try to save on in the kitchen?? Restaurant is not clean, bathrooms out of soap and paper towels, windows are nasty. No napkins on the table, ketchup empty. The food is nice and hot. No complaints with the food. read more

We got food poisoning. All we had was a cheeseburger $5 meal deal and a blizzard. About three hours later I felt like death with a graham cracker. Mercifully we had gotten back home in that time. But it was violent and lasted much longer than 24 hours which I had read was the usual time frame. No way would I ever darken their door again. read more

I'm not a DQ fan but we were on vacation with about 15 family members this past July 2016 and it was certainly busy there on a hot summer day! Hungry kids, tweens and teens and this solved everyone's quick lunch bite before exploring the nearby state park. 5 STARS: Employee Rucksana (sp?) was a SUPERSTAR!!! She was patient, sweet and got every one of our orders correct and to the right people in our party. We are a patient group to begin with (hello visitors: smile and be kind, people will do the same!). I applaud her with EXCELLENT customer service and generally a very nice kind person. Every adult in our party was amazed at her service!!! Thank you for making our visit pleasant AND happy! DQ food: I guess its the same as all other DQ's (per my other family members who visit more than me!). I did like their storm/ice cream blendy thing... sorry forgot the name! Fries were crispy. I absolutely LOVE Dairy Queen!! But not this one. I get the Wonder Woman Cookie Collision almost every single day at the Gainesville Dairy Queen and I know that it was not supposed to taste like that. Yes it was the correct ingredients, but the ice cream was not nearly chocolatey enough and I only had a few bites, when there was only soupy vanilla-ish ice cream left. I was disappointed with the employees too. They seemed to be very depressed and unhappy working there, but seeing how untidy the kitchen was, I see where they were coming from. read more

New owners, bad management, won't go back. It was busy so I expected the service to be slow however, after waiting for a quarter pound cheeseburger and 2 chilli cheese dogs for more than 30 minutes I noticed people that had come in after us had been served. In fact some had eaten and were leaving. The lady that had been behind me when I ordered was also still waiting to be served. She finally got her order, i asked the server about my order "it's coming". After another 10 minutes went to the counter to find out what was going on and was told "you asked for the hamburger to be well done, it has to have time to cook". It's only a small 1/4 lb, it should be charcoal by now. I could have gone home and cooked it myself by now. Told her this would be the last time I would eat here. She said "OK." If she had said I'm sorry we lost the order. My response would have been alright that can happen when you are busy and understaffed no problem. But she chose to try and make it my fault. After getting the food I was sorry I waited should have demanded my money back, now I have multiple reasons for not supporting my local business. Bad service, bad food, bad attitude and bad lier.
