Pathetic Mahjong event 05-14-26. This so‑called "Mahjong Tournament" was nothing of the sort. The organizer clearly hoped to cash in on the current Mahjong trend without offering one single element of an actual tournament. No table assignments. No scoring. No prizes. No auction items. Nothing. The only thing remotely "tournament‑like" was the fee they charged. And let's be clear: this wasn't even a fundraiser for a cause. It was "bring your own tiles, sit with your friends, play in our room, and we'll serve you a fair‑to‑mediocre lunch"--a lunch that, as the owner proudly announced, didn't even include a basic cookie for dessert. Stunning. Then came the final insult. My friend's mother, who couldn't attend, had spent two weeks calling and requesting a refund. Repeatedly denied and given the run around. Only after persistent pressure did they begrudgingly offer a food‑only gift certificate--not merchandise--though maybe, possibly, someday, at some undefined later date, they might let her use it in the store. Maybe. But not today. What on earth was this event. I genuinely felt like I had stepped into an alternate universe where professionalism, integrity, and basic hospitality had been outlawed. read more

I have been here a few times, two things you can count on. Food that is really good and service that is not well trained. For a restaurant that wants to charge you almost 70 bucks for lunch , you expect stellar service. That being said ....they're always pleasant ...but just not trained. There were only two diners in the whole restaurant and two servers and my server was MIA. So I had to keep asking the other server for help, especially when it came to my raw chicken. I asked for a straw for my Diet Coke and I got a short straw for a cocktail so I went over to the bar and picked up a long paper straw . Pay attention to details my man ,also when our food was dropped, our appetizer plates were never cleared off the table so we had all those dirty dishes sitting on our table the entire meal and then We had to ask for refills . I would like to say this is the first time that this has happened but it's not.. it's happened every time I've been to the restaurant and it's always with different servers. If you're gonna charge me five star prices I want the same in service. Speaking of five $$$ . What's the deal with nickel and dime charge of a restaurant fee? Are you serious? How tacky ! Nobody is going to be walking around with a bundle of cash to pay for their lunch. Hey Julep , it makes your customers feel like you're trying to squeeze out every last nickel of them. I ordered the fried chicken, which was amazing until I cut it open and it was raw inside. Check those temperatures folks. We had the devil's eggs which were fabulous and I heard the chicken salad was really nice. They definitely have their game on for their french fries they are fabulous. I absolutely love coming out here and believe me it is an hour and a half drive for me to do so .The place is beautiful, cute and quaint. The gift shop has so many delightful things. The restaurant food is fabulous , but the service.... In the restaurant, in the little store, always feels a bit off and unwelcoming. They're nice people, but they always seem to be busy with other things more than helping their customer. When we went into the dining restaurant, we stood there about five minutes and no one even acknowledged us, even though they saw us standing there so finally we just went and sat down ourselves, and even with that it was another five minutes before they came to the table .only two people in the restaurant folks . My son took me to Julip Farms for Mother's Day today at the Julio Farms restaurant. Of course, it is a beautiful setting and I had always wanted to go there, but considering the prices I felt bad that my son paid $300 for a buffet lunch and we were even charged extra for tea and coffee. The food was room temperature and underwhelming. I have never heard of a buffet costing $78 per person under these circumstances. Our waiter was very good considering he had no control over the kitchen and management. I ordered a decaf coffee with the buffet desserts which I never received. I was told something I didn't really understand as to why I wasn't able to get it, but was offered a replacement of "INSTANT" coffee. Really? When I asked the price of the buffet, I was expecting amazing food and service since no menu was offered. It was not delivered! All of this falls on management. The food. The service which was understaffed. The overpriced buffet. The quality of the food. Overall, it was all about ambiance, but without food quality and good service, the restaurant will never attract people to this restaurant! There is no excuse, considering the beautiful surroundings of this property, that this restaurant should not be overflowing with customers, but people expect good food and service at these prices, so if you cannot offer this, at least lower your prices! read more

We came here for a date night. It did not disappoint! Very cool farm, restaurant and small shop. The service was great, we had some really good cocktails. The food was the star! My wife got the big dinner salad, I got the filet with a crab cake. The steak was super tender and flavorful. Sides were great! Mashed potatoes with asparagus. The Brie appetizer was to die for! Tons of gross ends and black on what should have been leafy greens, like the kitchen didn't try to sort through it in any way. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants. We've been going there since it opened. The setting is absolutely spectacular. But over the past year or two, the quality of the food has slipped. We had lunch there today. We started with the Five Deviled Eggs appetizer (that's what it's called). They were great, but there were only four halves, not five. I ordered the Julep Fried Chicken. $25 for a small drumstick and thigh, no breast. I got maybe 2-3 ounces of meat off it. The breading was very flavorful, but come on...no breast for $25?!?! Plus they forgot the cole slaw (which was tasteless); I had to ask for it. In fairness, the fries were great. My wife had the Asian Cranberry Chicken Salad. We're 99% sure that it was canned chicken. It was cubed and looked and tasted very blah...not at all like freshly cooked chicken. So, we spent $75 for lunch with tip. Never again...next time, if there is a next time, we'll get a coffee at the coffee bar and walk around the beautiful grounds. read more

We ate here for NYE tonight and we regret every second. The food was truly terrible. It was a five course prix fixe menu and there wasn't a course that was palatable, enjoyable, or worth the money. I went to the bathroom and noticed our drinks on the bar, came back and they were still sitting there while the bartender just sat on her phone. If the server is busy, the bartender can deliver. The only good thing about the evening was laughing with the tables next to us about how ridiculous it was to get dressed up, drive to a restaurant on a holiday, and be served underseasoned and underwhelming food. We have gone to Julep Farms 3 or 4 times when we visit Highlands each year, but the prices have gone up and quality of food have deteriorated each time. This was the last time they will get a dollar from me. I ordered a breakfast "skillet" and what they brought out is something you would see for $6 at Denny's....but worse quality for $25. I love my yearly visits to Julep Farms. Julep Farms is such a great place to pick up some coffee, baked goods, gifts, etc. The restaurant is always a MUST. We had 8 in our party and were seated within 49 mins without a reservation. While waiting we decided to have cocktails and everyone in our party had really tasty cocktails, that were not only delish but beautifully garnished. Lexi our server was great at explaining what was available for our vegan guest and she was patient with our youngest guest who couldn't decide on her dish. The chef prepared a delicious vegan meal based off the flavor profiles of one of the menu options our vegan guest selected. It was a treat when the chef came out to see if he liked the dish. What a lovely spot to stop for lunch! There was a brief wait for our table, but we enjoyed looking within the shop while we waited...so many cute things. We were seated outside on the porch, the view was great and our server was friendly. We ordered the bread with butter and oil and the olives to start + a bottle of Chardonnay...All were delicious! For lunch, us ladies ordered the peach burrata salad with chicken and the guys had the shrimp and grits and the chicken salad on a croissant. The salad was amazingly good and a large portion, the guys also enjoyed their meals, all plates left the table clean. Tried them for dinner last night but a storm knocked the power out and they weren't able to serve dinner - so we finished our bottle of wine and settled up... Determined to eat here, we came back for lunch today. It wasn't without its own hiccups - the chef quit halfway through our ticket... literally walked out. I have to commend our server and the other staff - they all pulled together and pulled off a delicious lunch!! We were a party of six so we had a chance to order several items. First, my mother-in-law had the grilled peach and burrata salad - deliciously prepared (perhaps a little light on the peaches) but well seasoned ... definitely add the protein if you're looking for something a little heartier. Second, the shrimp and grits. My son said it was delicious. He might as well have licked the plate clean. My daughter and father-in-law both had the grilled chicken flatbread. Again, they loved it and the honey mustard sauce was excellent. My wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich - unfortunately, they were out of the croissants but it was still perfect on the grilled sourdough. I can honestly say it was some of the best chicken salad I've ever had. I ordered the brie and bacon sandwich - incredible!! For desserts we ordered the cheesecake and bread pudding - both were delicious. I am so glad we persisted and ate here. Lovely Brunch Spot with a great view. Wow ! What a great find in the mountains of North Georgia. We got a nice table for 6 outside on the veranda with a sweet relaxing view. Our server Bree George was very helpful and attentive. She guided us thru the menu and helped us get our order out. My omelette was tops. The grits are outstanding Too! Prior to entering the dining area, Julep Kitchen has a fantastic shop with very unique gifts for the kitchen and home as well as books and some. Ol clothing. I did a little early Christmas shopping and could have found something for all of the people who "already have everything". We came for lunch and it was terrific. We were seated next to the fireplace in the spacious dining room. The high ceiling and large windows allow for light to flood the area. The menu offered a nice array of choices from small plates to salads, soups, and sandwiches. Everything we had was prepared perfectly. Service was incredibly friendly and attentive. Late review. Visited June 14, 2025 for a nice evening dinner. The special for the night was "prime rib" which is my favorite meat selection. Waited sometime, but when the dinner arrived, it was not edible. The rib was cooked dry and burned. I sent the dinner back, but by now my wife had already received her dinner so I declined a second choice. Had an extra bowl of Sea Crab soup which was good. Also, I ordered a "Caesar Salad", but it arrived without the Romaine lettuce and had tomatoes severed with it. I told the manager that this was not a "Caesar Salad and should be called a Seasonal Salad. She explained that it was a Caesar Salad. Caesar Salad is a brand name and should be served primarily as originally described. Very disappointing evening. Many other restaurants nearby for better choices and a better management. We were so excited to come back to visit Julep Kitchen on this holiday weekend. They were busy and were not taking any more reservations for the day so we took our chances walking in. They said it would be about thirty minutes wait time and took our phone number to text us when the table was ready. We got drinks at bar and wandered through the beautiful store and grounds while we waited. We saw the miniature horses and the gatden and they had live music by the chicken coop. It was certainly a nice way to wait for our table. Beautiful setting with plent of indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated in about 20 minutes and had a lovely server named Hayden. She got our drink order and allowed us time to look over the menu. There was a prixe fix brunch menu with several choices thay all camr with a salad and dessert. Our group ordered shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, salmon, and the beef medallions. The salad choices were Caesar or spinach strawberry. The spinach salad had spimach, nuts, strawberry, and goat cheese with a light dressing. The salads were so good we all cleaned our plates. The entrees were all excellent. The portions were good and the food was so tasty. Loved the shrimp and grits!! The dessert were also top notch. I highly reccomend visiting this lovely restaurant. We have wanted to go to Julep Farms for quite a while and decided that would be a great place to celebrate my husband's birthday, so we went for dinner. Driving up to the property, there are cozy, new cabins, animals, pastures and gardens. Entering, we walked through a shop with cool and unique items and gift ideas, including beautiful jewelry, clothing, glass and barware, interesting books and all kinds of entertaining items that you never knew you needed but you actually do! There's a coffee shop and pastries as well that I will definitely have to check out! The dining room is beautiful and comfortable. We were able to carry on a conversation which was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is relaxing and spacious with tall ceilings, an inviting bar and a beautiful fireplace which was elegantly decorated for the holidays. The views did not disappoint with mountains and a beautiful sky during sunset as the backdrop. This is also a venue for weddings and other celebrations, but it never felt "venue-y". The aesthetics, architecture and landscaping were well appointed, upscale and thoughtfully placed. Beautiful environment. Bren was our waitress and she was super nice, present and did not rush us at any time. We appreciate her genuine personality and eye contact! She described the specials, gave us a moment to peruse the menu (everything looks absolutely amazing) and brought back a nice glass of Aviary Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Delicious! By the way, if you buy a bottle of wine and do not finish it, you can take it home with you. I believe that's what I was told and I think that is super cool! We had the Brie appetizer which consisted of smoked walnuts, toasted almonds, pecans, fig and cherry jam, pomegranate, and honey molasses, with grilled ciabatta bread, which was phenomenal. I am still craving! For dinner we had creamy beef and wild mushroom ravioli with a parmesan cream sauce and spinach and chicken paillard with sage brown butter, parmesan gnocchi and sautéed kale. We both got very quiet as we shared and enjoyed the flavors from our main course. Everything was cooked to perfection! Thank you Chef! To commemorate my husband's birthday, Bren brought out chess pie with whipped cream and strawberries, which was absolutely delicious and a perfect way to finish our meal. We met the owner, Lauren and the Manager, Jeff, both were very personable and kind. Jeff checked in on us to see how things were. No complaints here! Everyone was so accommodating and easy to talk with. It felt like we were enjoying an amazing dinner at a good friends house. So comfortable. The entire experience from the moment we walked in the front door until we left completely satisfied was such a treat! Thank you Julep Farms for making my husband's day so special! Everyone was super nice, the server answered all the questions I had and didn't make me feel weird about asking. Really just an amazing server I wish I could remember her name. The food was super delicious honestly, of course I'm pregnant so my absolute favorite part was the dessert lol. Everything was portioned VERY well and picture perfect. Made a 12:45 reservation and was seated promptly when we arrived. Started off with a couple of drinks which were very good. Ordered the shrimp and grits and husband ordered med-rare steak tips and fries. Food arrived and the steak was way over cooked. Even the waiter joked that it looked like beef jerky while he was taking it back to get a new order. The shrimp and grits were warm but not hot. The flavor was there though. So my husband had to sit and watch me eat while he waited for his to be recooked. I was completely done when his arrived. Then I had to sit and wait for him to eat. His new order was delicious. Julep Kitchen isn't just a kitchen! It's so much more. As you drive in, there's a lot to take in. The beautiful restaurant and store that sits in the middle of the property. A barn (Feed and Seed venue) to the right and adorable cottages to the left. The property is stunning and well kept. I came here with a group of seven; five adults and two children. There is an adorable boutique at the front of the restaurant offering home goods, clothes, a coffee bar, pastries, and more. We had reservations for 5:30 PM on a Saturday and our party was greeted and seated right away. My friend and I purchased scones and a jumbo peanut butter cup before joining the rest of our group at our table. Our group ordered several different items, and I tried the following: Apple and brie flatbread $11 Spinach and artichoke drip $11 Grouper $29 Shrimp & Grits $24 Salted caramel crunch cake $8 Salted caramel almond milk latte $3.95 The apps, flatbread and dip were delicious and enough to share between my party. Each person had at least one bite. I love the combination of apple and brie and theirs did not disappoint. My main entree was the grouper. It was pan seared and came with garlic mashed potatoes and julienned vegetables. The grouper was cooked well, but I enjoyed the mashed potatoes more than the fish. I sampled a friend's shrimp and grits. The grits were creamy. However, I was hoping for a kick, but didn't taste it. My son ordered the hanger steak entree and enjoyed it. I ate some of his fries which were really good. I ended my meal with a salted caramel crunch cake and a latte. Highly recommend the cake if you're a big fan of caramel like myself! I sampled the scones and peanut butter cup when I reached home. They were amazing! Our server was friendly, attentive and accommodating. The chef came out to our table and made great recommendations. High society meets country living, meshed together for some fancy farmhouse fun. This place surprised me with its presentation & atmosphere. One of our stops along the way to the Highlands. So, this isn't just a kitchen! They have a small country boutique shop plus farmland all around. And don't be confused, their boutique shop is pricey. I mean, $$$$$. Every price tag I flipped over put a dent in my wallet. You might find something under $20 ... but I will say the items were really nice & unique. For our lunch, we walked through the fancy indoor area out to the patio. Such a majestic view! They certainly put top dollar into this place. I started with an old fashioned to drink and Parmesan truffle fries for the table. The drink really wasn't much to write about, unfortunately. The fries, though, were really good! Recommend them as a starter! My meal was the chicken salad croissant with side salad. Best part of my entire meal was the fireball dressing they had for the salad. Not joking, one of the vest dressings I've had. It had some sweet heat to it! One thing I love about trying new places is eating one small thing that can make the entire experience amazing! Forget the drink or the lackluster croissant, that fireball is legit! I should've asked for an extra side and poured it on my croissant and maybe even into my drink haha. 10/03/25 DO NOT EAT HERE !!! I ordered the special , rib eye steak, I didn't want the garlic mashed potatoes so replaced them with a side salad . The waiter Daniel, brought me out a tiny cast iron pan with a couple of spoon fulls of spinach soup ( I didn't order it ) as I was eating the soup I pulled a piece of metal from a wire brush from my mouth. It was about an inch and a half long . Had I swallowed it I probably would have ended up in the hospital. I showed it to Nema the manager that night, the chef came to our table said he was sorry and both said our bill would be on them and to come back give them another chance and it would be free also . I did not eat the steak either as the steak was lying on a glop of half cooked garlic mashed potatoes, with a white sauce on top of steak and a few fried onions on top of that . It looked tot disgusting!!! Order was wrong as I ordered a salad instead of garlic potatoes. Never have I ever seen steak served in the manner this was served in. Needless to say it was a horrible experience. I called to speak to owner the next day and Lauren was rude and hung up on me .
