I stopped by this Dairy Queen for the first (and probably last) time tonight. I went through the drive-thru so I can't speak to the indoor experience at all, but the drive-thru was weirdly long. The parking lot is significantly larger than it needs to be for some reason. It's in a really shifty part of town and there are a lot of suspicious people walking down the road at all times. Not the kind of place I would feel safe parking and going into by myself. I got a Reese's Pieces cookie dough blizzard. It was made quickly and correctly and tasted as expected. Nothing more to really say about it. The employees I dealt with were kind of rude, which is why I'm giving this location two stars. The girl who took my order was hard to hear and didn't tell me my total or any kind of "see you at the window", so I wasn't sure when she was ready for me to move forward. When I got to the window, a guy took my card and gave me my order. Both employees looked like high schoolers, which is to be expected for a minimum wage job. The guy who gave me my order was barely communicative - he gave it to me and then closed the window without saying a word. It seemed like everyone who was working there would rather be anywhere else. I get it - you get paid very little and you have to deal with people all day, some of whom I'm sure are more than a nightmare. I just wish it didn't affect all customers and not just the nightmares. I don't anticipate going back to this location both because of the weird vibes and the unfriendly workers. read more

I get it that Dairy Queen isn't the first place people go to for non-ice cream items, but it doesn't mean that the non-ice cream items are awful. They aren't bad. I have been going to Dairy Queen for decades. Most.of the time my experiences have been beyond exceltional. The service at virtually all the stores I hsve been to is grade A level. Nice workers and always willing to go beyond the call of duty to satisfy my needs and requests. They hsve a wide selection of ice cream treats with fair prices. My favorite treat is Choco Brownie Extreme Blizzard. It's so delicious! They also have great food. I love their fries and burgers. The grilled burgers are very tasty. This is a fast food restaurant you do not want to pass up. read more

Every time i use the drive to window, I'm disgusted by what I see, and I question myself again as to whether I should just stop coming here. Seeing how dirty it was today, I've finally decided it's not worth it, to risk getting sick by eating here because your employees don't know how to keep their work spaces sanitary. It's one thing to see some clutter when it's really busy, but the vast majority of the time (early 9 out of 10 visits) there is rarely not than one or 2 other customers ahead of me. Often there's no other customers -but still in told. "Wait a moment" and when i finally get to order & pull around, there's music blasting, and a few kids seem to be just hanging out, wearing filthy aprons, hair hanging over the getting & back of their shoulders, while there's cluttered & dirty work spaces & floors all around them. While you have had a few good employees, (who actually know how to make the cones with the DQ patented swirl on top, and who look clean, with their hair properly tied back & wearing a clean apron -I must report that MOST of your employees, however, wear their hair loose & disheveled; some of your employees look like they haven't bathed in a while, too. Aprons are always filthy, and I've seen employees wiping their hands of spilled ice cream or sauce on their dirty aprons, only to continue handling food! Worse, I'll see them scratch their faces, even near their nostrils & around their mouths, with their long fake nails, then go back to handling a customer's food! (I've walked out a few times, after seeing one employee do this over & over, while serving several customers ahead of me. I left, rather than allow her to serve me). Once, while using the drive thru, a male employee tried to hand me a cone with the ice cream too soft -not firm enough to hold it's shape! As he started to hand it over to me (and me trying to say "wait! No! don't give me..."*splat*) most of the ice cream slopped off the cone, right into & over my car door -incl inside the window slot (went inside, smeared down both sides of the glass & soured inside the door frame for weeks). The mess went inside the door and some went down the outside of the door, too Rather than reimburse me, all he was willing to give me was a few extra napkins, and a cup & spoon (to dump what was left of the cone into -which then went straight into my car garbage pail), and a discount coupon for a free small sundae (but only with purchase of hot food). He said he couldn't refund me because he didn't know how to deduct it from the register. The only other employee in the store was about the same age, and looked as disheveled & dirty as the male. But seeing how filthy the store still is, i finally decided it's time to let you know about it. And to let you know I won't be eating here again, unless/until you retrain your employees on proper food safety, with an the cleaning requirements & practices. And I'll be telling my friends to also refrain from eating there, because I don't want them rushing illness either. Finally, I'll be adding negative google review too, which I'll only update to positive, or remove if possible, only if I learn of any drastic improvements in the sanitation practices of this location. read more

I went To DQ with my granddaughter and her friend. My granddaughter order was very specific, a regular hamburger with just ketchup and extra pickles. The staff asked a few times and I repeated the order for him each time. I also asked for extra tartar sauce for my sandwich. The oder came and my granddaughter's hamburger was a double cheese burger with 2 pickles on it. My fish sandwich had a dollop of tartar sauce. I took my granddaughter's hamburger back. I also asked if I could have extra tartar sauce. I was told it would cost extra. I mentioned I paid for a double cheese burger that I didn't order or want. I was told I would still have to pay extra for the sauce. We won't return again read more

Oh my ! I flew into town today and stopped here on the way to my hotel . I wanted to sit down and eat , but gentleman told me Covid restrictions had been lifted for dining in , but most fast food restaurants are still only doing drive thru . I hadn't eaten since 4:30am , so I went to drive through and ordered 6 piece chicken strip basket with gravy and my hotel was 7 minutes away . I get to my room and start eating . The gravy didn't taste quite right . Almost like it had ranch mixed with it . So , I had 2 containers and used about half of one and I was like no something is wrong with it . About 10 minutes after I finished it I was on the phone with my son and it hit me ! I rushed to the bathroom and again about 20 minutes later . The gravy is warmed up , so either it was old or had ranch in it that would have curled with the warm gravy . My stomach was messed up for a few hours . read more

Would give this location 0 stars if I could. It's in the ghetto and their prices are at least $1 more on most items than other locations in town. The employees are rude, sloppy, and clearly often high. I live in the area and go here from time to time out of convenience. Over the years I can't think of one time that they've got my order right. I have been a infrequent customer for over 40 years, I was never so upset with the lack customer service. I went through the drive thru and started to place my order, the associate kept interrupting me and would not let me even finish a sentence, it was like she was not even listening to what I was saying. As a person who is addicted to soft serve ice cream, and has spent the majority of my 52 years on this planet looking for soft serve that was as good as it was in the 80's, I have to tell you that this soft serve is thick and luscious! It's the perfect mouth-feel. I actually crave it after about a week without it. I've never eaten anything else at Dairy Queen other than the basic vanilla soft serve in a cup. Dairy Queen is just one of those places that always brings a smile to ones face, a song to ones taste buds, and even a wag from my pups tail. The DQ on Hwy 99 not only serves up the best DQ classic dishes/treats, they also offer free puppy cones to our 4 legged friends. My dog Sampson gets so excited when I pull into the parking lot. It's for this reason that I give this particular DQ 5 stars. Most other locations charge for the simple pleasure a baby cone brings our pups, but not the Hwy 99 restaurant. It may not be the fanciest or newest DQ, but they still serve up the treats/meals that they are known for. The staff is generally made up of younger adults and more often than not they are friendly and fast. I prefer the drive thru to eating in, but they do have ample seating inside. Hands down, this was the worst drive through experience I've ever had. It took over 35 minutes to get through with just 2 cars in front of me and only ordering for 2 people. They made the ice cream first and by the time the food was ready, it was completely melted. Once I got home, I realized they never gave me the drinks so I had to drive back. I have given this DQ the last opportunity to keep my business. I have used them dozens of times over the past 5 years for ice cream cakes / cupcakes for our employees . I have had a few difficult transactions in the past couple of years where the ice cream cakes were not ready on time, could not be found, etc. Today was on another level! I ordered an ice cream cake on Friday 4/14 to be picked up today, 4/27 at 2:30 to celebrate a birthday of one of our employees. I was out of town last week and they often times require 72 hours to have a cake ready so I gave them nearly 2 weeks just to be safe. The person taking my order confirmed everything and read it back to me. So, I tried to call this week to confirm the order, again to be on the safe side. I called 4 different times and the phone was never answered during any of the 4 calls! So, I arrived today at 2:35 and told the young lady at the counter what I was there to pick up. She didn't look too confident, but asked me to wait a moment and disappeared to the back of the building. She came back out front a few moments later and asked me what I was picking up again. I explained what it was and she then spoke into her headset and walked to the back yet again. After a few more minutes she returned and informed me that the cake "wasn't able to be made because the ice cream machine is not working." I was in disbelief for a moment and confused how DAIRY QUEEN would be unable to make ice cream. I completely understand that things happen, so once I wrapped my head around the issue I asked why I hadn't been called and informed of this prior to the moment that I am here to pick up the order. When a cake is ordered for a specific event, it's kind of important that the item either be ready at the agreed upon time, or there is notice so that other arrangements can be made. The young lady sent to give me the news was a trainee, so there was no point in causing her to have any worse of a day, and I didn't have time to wait and speak to a manager. She offered me the only cake that they had from a freezer that was about 1/3 the size of what I had ordered so I took it and moved on. I am able to grasp the idea of a machine being out of order and a product not being available. What I am astounded by is that the simple task of looking over and order sheet and contacting those customers to inform them that the product they ordered was not going to be available was not even attempted. I also am fully aware that this is not a life altering issue. It just seems that at the same time a common courtesy phone call would very easily have allowed me to make other arrangements and not be in this difficult position. So, never again will I frequent this establishment, and I hope that I can save others from this experience as well! read more

Best soft-serve ice cream! Dairy Queen has been a family favorite since I was a kid. I have fond memories of my dad taking us through the drive thru and getting ice cream cones. DAIRY QUEEN HAS A LUCH SPECIAL FROM 11:00am-4:00pm WHICH OFFERS A BURGER or CHICKEN STRIPS, FRIES, DRINK and EVEN A SUNDAY FOR $5.00. The atmosphere inside is getting better, they just did a remodel which was much needed. It is around a pretty sketchy part of town. Horrible service! We ordered two hot fudges and asked for extra hot fudge and nuts on one of them. The one that was supposed to have extra had hardly any. When I asked for more they said I needed to pay. I told them I had paid and they looked at the receipt and then told me they had put extra on it already. I showed them that the one without nuts had more hot fudge than the one with nuts and they said they can't add more because they lose money if they give too much. Horrible attitudes!! And the manager backed up the server and refused more hot fudge. read more

When I was a kid I loved to go to Dairy Queen and see all the different sugar rushes I can possibly have. The quality used to be very good, nowadays, that isn't the case. I have stopped ordering food here because it is sub par. The desserts are still good, my favorite is the peanut buster parfait. If you haven't tried it, it won't disappoint. This location is a hit or miss when it comes to customer service. The last time I went in here the whole restaurant was filled with teenagers working and none even greeted me. They were too busy talking to someone that came in on their day off and chatted about High School gossip. Didn't seem there was a manager on duty. I had to hunt for a table and had to settle for one that was the least dirty. While my whole time there they didn't clean any of the tables and I was there for around 30 minutes and they did have plenty of help. read more

Overcharged me for a mini blizzard by double and when called out on it the cashier doubled down on the price. Circled back to look at the price on the menu and I was right. They just got away with charging me $5 for a mini blizzard. Super slow service as well. Waited 15mins in the drive through and there was only one car in front of me. Went in on Sunday the drive through sign literally said due to staffing issues they were closed. When all the staff decides to not come in it's not a staff issue it's a manager or owner issue. Now I need a new close lunch spot it's a shame needs new owners and definitely new managers. read more

I just left this location and after problems, again, I think I'm done. I'll drive the extra distance to a different one. So, I sit in the drive thru for over 20 minutes along with a lot of other people. I have been craving a strawberry milkshake and the one by my house makes a great one but that's over 13 miles away so, I sit in the drive thru, finally get to order a large strawberry milkshake and large fries, with the total being over $8.00 for just those two items. Another 5 to 10 minutes to get to the window and the girl at the window hands me a medium "strawberry milk". This girl is very polite and friendly so I nicely ask her if this is the $4.99 large milkshake. She turns to the girl making them and asks and is told YES, it is, which is either a lie or they have a different idea of a large milkshake. Now I am feeling sorry for the girl at the window, I explain to her that every other DQ I've been to, this is a medium. She turns around and tells the girl this and the girl looks at her and says well, I'm out of large cups. By this time the window girl has the deer in the headlights look from being caught between a customer and a liar. I felt really bad for her especially since the other one didn't give a sh*t. She was panicking trying to make it right and I explained to her that she was fine and it was o.k, the people behind me had been waiting a long time too, ( I didn't want to mention that a milkshake actually has ice cream in it also, it wasn't her fault) I drove back to work only to realize I got a medium fries also, ( half filled large container). Will I be going back ? NO !!! To the girl in the window, please find another job, no one should be put in that position for that pay. My husband and I got small Blizzards to go. They were given to us with lids on the cups. We got home and found that our blizzards were less than 2/3 full. Huge air pockets and the ice cream was not even close to the top of the cup. So disappointing. We will not be back here. read more
