Cool under pressure! Food: Tasty Service: Solid Ambiance: Bright This Dairy Queen has notoriously been hit and miss but this time the visit was top notch! The service was efficient and the staff worked well together under pressure as there was a lot of people getting blizzards and the two folks working took it all in stride. Hello everyone. I just want to let you know about the best Dairy Queen in town. My daughter and I arrived here Thursday evening and went through the drive-through. We ordered a kids meal and a single burger. When we received our order in correctly, we gave the store a call. I spoke to the manager BILAL. Immediately, upon hearing our concerns, he apologized. He told us to come and see him at the store. When we arrived back to the store, he gave us a refund, and they remade our food. BILAL also gave my daughter an ice cream dilly bar!!! My daughter and I are very busy and on the go. We chose Dairy Queen over McDonald's. For obvious reasons. After he took care of us, we used the restroom. I have to say that this is a very clean restroom. And if you come here, they actually have restrooms that you can use. The staff at this location and the manager are phenomenal. Had a blizzard yesterday, on the third and happily finished it off today, the Fourth of July. Overall the rocky road (which is at DQ for a limited time!) blizzard had lots of great aspects, these included: gooey fudge, luscious marshmallows, salty peanuts, and that classic vanilla ice cream to blend it all together and it wasn't all a sloppy mess! After the last time I got a blizzard from this location (about two years ago) I was hesitant to give it another shot but boy was I glad I did. Even the day after it still had all of its great flavors still packed to give your tastebuds a punch. The order taker was very patient with me as I looked through the menu and throughout my order she explained to me the difference between menu items if needed. I got to the window and added on a blizzard and she was kind enough to do so. The fries were so good! Perfectly crispy fries and had some softer fries. I like having that mixture of textures. Didn't need salt or ketchup and the oil tasted clean. I had a crispy chicken burger and it was delicious! Very crispy and simple with Mayo, tomato, lettuce and chicken. I got a brownie dough blizzard and the brownie signature one. Both very good although I have to say I like the signature one better bc of the crunchy pieces of chocolate in it. Watched as 3 kids stood by doing absolutely nothing while one made our blizzard. Then one of the non- working kids opened the window and asked what we ordered. Well 5 minutes later the one who was working gave us our order. It's 101 degrees out, no lids on the blizzards as we drive home guess what, they spill out some because it'sso hot they started melting. Simply putting a lid on it would prevent this. This location you will never see the same employee for more than a month. It's constantly new hires. This is the only location that also screws my order up. Tonight I ordered my usual Cotton Candy with extra candy and extra syrup. When they handed me the ice cream it should be a pink color, it was white. I took a bite & it tasted like vanilla.... I could maybe understand but I ordered EXTRA syrup and candy. I was told "the syrup blends in" treating me like I'm stupid. I would've even been fine paying for more candy & syrup but when I talked to the manager he looked at me like I was stupid but re-made my blizzard (I've gotten 1000s of this blizzard, I know how it's supposed to look) this happens a lot at this location. Now I initially thought maybe they aren't using the correct syrup or mixing it right because when he remade it the was extra candy but not syrup. I've never complained before and I even tried to apologize for causing a fuss but as I was saying sorry the manager walked off. My mom was pregnant with my sister and when she was getting close to popping her doctor told her to take some walks to loosen things up I guess. So in the evenings we would walk to Dairy Queen as a family and I was so excited. Flash forward to now. I'm lactose intolerant and couldn't even have ice cream anymore. To begin, I would give this restaurant an easy five-star yelp review if not for one thing: they do NOT have the cherry wax for my beloved cherry-dipped cones and I find this tantamount to a criminal act. I have never seen a Dairy Queen that doesn't have the cherry wax, and it breaks my heart that my local Kent Dairy Queen falls painfully short in this regard (I actually emailed them about this before this review, but I never heard back unfortunately). That being said, the restaurant is clean and the staff is helpful. If you are looking for some delicious ice cream, give this place a shot.
