From the moment we heard the voice on the drive thru we could tell this business - or at least the person on the other end of the speaker - was not interested in customer service. The answers were curt and borderline condescending, even for a simple order. There were five cars in front of us and it took more than 25 minutes to finally reach the window. This was at 7 pm when they should have been prepared to move cars through the line. When we arrived at the window a customer a few cars in front of us came back to the window rather irate that her order had been all Messed up. This DQ has been at this spot for 40+ years and I've stopped here a few times each year (family tradition) - and they should have customer service and quick service down pat. Asked for Cream and Sugar in one of the coffee's and they said they do not have Cream. Only powdered cream. Really, no Cream or Milk? What's so hard about having a little Cream available. The food is ok. The staff is often slow and overall rude. It is hard to get good enthusiastic service. Manners seem to be unheard of here. They do make the food you'd expect at Dairy Queen in a way that isn't horrible. If there was another option believe me I'd take it. I was apprehensive about stopping in at this DQ after I read the reviews from other Yelpers. Granted, we only had ice cream. It's kind of hard to screw up a chocolate shake and vanilla cone dipped in chocolate. The service was fast, our order was correct and it hit the spot. Not sure about the cleanliness questions. Do NOT eat here unless you want FOOD POISONING!!! Me and my bf stopped here on our way up to the mountain for the first day of our vacation. Order took WAY to long and cashier was so unfriendly. Not even a simple "hello" ordered two 4 piece chicken strip baskets, waited 25 minutes, and then finally got our 2 1/2 piece baskets with skimpy soggy fries and not even toasted bread. Still with a smile on our faces, sat down and ate our meal in peace, despite the old 70 old smoker woman yelling at the cook in the back. Fast forward 4 hours, me and my bf are deathly ill, and have vomit coming out of everywhere imaginable. One word. Misery. Enough misery and fluids lost, a trip to the emergency room is in our future. Fast forward 2 hours, 3 liters of fluid, and a 600$ hospital tab later, we are finally home. Still drive-thru only and the line can back up but they're working proficiently and it did not take a long time to get through and receive my order. Friendly staff wearing masks and gloves. They even had a little fun with me, I ordered a small dipped cone and they handed me a shortened tiny dipped cone. After I looked at it confusingly for a moment they laughed and said, "Gotcha" then handed me the actual small. But there is no sign that you have to pay 50 Cents for a ranch so when I asked for it she said it would be a dollar. So, I have a hangover. I live in Rhody and there aren't a lot of options for fast food, but I needed a burger. Skyway in my opinion has the best burger I've tasted in town so far, but they don't open until 3 on Mondays and I was getting those hangover waves of nauseous hunger feelings. I looked around and figured what the hell, I'll try the local Dairy Queen since I haven't yet, even though historically, I have never really been a DQ fan. Mistake number 1. Mistake number 2 was not immediately turning around when I saw the parking lot looking fairly full and 4 cars in the drive through. Not that that's a sign of anything bad, just, well, hindsight is telling me that was a sign. I ordered my food. A number 1 with no pickles, and a sprite, regular size. Sweet. Easy enough. Now I wait. And I wait. And I friggin wait. There were 4 cars ahead of me as I mentioned. Each car took upwards of 5 minutes to receive their food. You heard right, I sat in this friggin drive thru line for just about 20 minutes before I even got to the window to pay. I get to the window and pay, no "sorry for the wait", no "hello" just, "Seven fifty nine." So I pay, and... Wait. For almost 15 more minutes. I swear to gad, not an exaggeration. Literally took 13 minutes from the time I paid to receive my food. The employees inside moving at a snails pace, obviously not giving a shit that there are ppl piling up in the drive through and getting frustrated at the wait. It was surreal. I should have just walked to the store and hand made my own burger, it would have taken less time than it did to receive this food. And then when I finally got my food, I got home only to throw half the thing away. It was disgusting. Even the drink tasted off, like the soda nozzles aren't cleaned regularly or something. Friggin gross. After that super long wait, they couldn't even be bothered to assemble me a decent looking burger. The sauce was all goopy and in big pockets instead of spread on the bun evenly, cheese was gross and tasted like barfy plastic. I remember now why I don't like Dairy Queen, and I sincerely recommend driving past it and going to Government Camp for better grub, or Sandy if you're going the other way. Steer clear of this place, holy fuckin shit what a waste of time and money, and I'm still hungover as well :( All I wanted was a delicious greasy burger to make my hangover more tolerable. One lady's grilled chicken sandwich wasn't even grilled. During my 20 minutes standing there for my to-go order 3 people brought orders inside from the drive-thru. There was a 16 year old boy and a 80 year old lady working the registers and had no clue what they were doing and I'm guessing, the lady who must have been the manager, was running around from the front to the kitchen like a bunny on crack. We stopped in here on our way down the mountain from skiing on Sunday. We were concerned because a bus was there before us. We went anyway because my husband had to use the facilities and I couldn't pass up a blizzard. I was impressed how friendly and fast they got my order out even thou they were busy. We stopped for some ice cream cones. Sounds simple- right? 1 childs chocolate cone w/ rainbow sprinkles. Sprinkles??? They couldn't figure out how to add the sprinkles to the cone. I love DQ and this location is great. We like to stop up on the mountain on our way home and have ice cream. This is the worse DQ ever. I would never order food here. The place is disgusting. So dirty. Even the cashier had dirty hands. Dried hot fudge and who knows what else on his hands. I was grossed out. He is also the one who made our not mixed well blizzards, and falling sideways off the cone dipped ice cream cones. I was shocked at how dirty the floor was and pick up counter. Disgusting. I hate this Dairy Queen. I got a corn dog and it was frozen in the middle. It was like Mt Hood in the middle. So I asked for another one and that one was cold too. Where to begin.... Service is poor and slow. The place is not clean. The quality of food is poor. And I don't mean poor compared to a 5-star restaurant...but compared to other fast food places, and even other Dairy Queens. Anything deep fried (fries, chicken strips, etc.) tastes like the oil in the fryer hasn't been changed in WAY too long. The sodas taste like the fountain / ice maker hasn't been properly cleaned / rinsed. You'll notice a sign at the drive through saying they don't participate in the "upside down or it's free" promotion, and there is a reason why: The blizzards they serve here are consistently a soupy, melted disaster. I seriously asked for a straw last time I got one. It wouldn't even have qualified as a milkshake. Fries are always soggy. Chicken is never consistently cooked (always under, or WAY over cooked). Burgers always have greasy buns, and old produce. When getting a to-go order, they always stuff the receipt into the food - thermal receipt paper has crazy-high BPA levels. Not even safe (or sanitary, for that matter). Long story short - not a good place to eat. High traffic to/from the mountain and lack of other drive throughs in the area are the only reasons this place stays in business. read more

Stopped there a couple weeks ago and usually the employees are rude and have 0 personality which I'm used to but the past 3 times I've been there I have been ignored by the staff while trying to order , bitched at by the so called manager for asking for an extra sauce , and my food came out tasting like shit. The place is fucking filthy, the ketchup is rotten, and the employees are a bunch of crack head local kids who don't know their asses from their elbows. This place is awful. Not a Dairy Queen, something much worse.. Despite it lying and saying "Dairy Queen" on the building. Ugh. Completely botched our order from the very start in the drive thru. The girl working the drive thru seemed to be slow and could not complete the tasks. My wife is deathly allergic to onions so we very carefully and specifically asked for a burger with no onions. The burger we got had them and she didn't notice until she was finished. The receipt says no onions.. It wasn't even the type of burger we asked for. They took SO long with our order we felt bad for all the cars behind us, and are watching them make their blizzards inside and sit there... Melting... While we block the drive through. So we asked them if we could just pull around and wait in the parking lot to let the people behind us go, but they looked at us confused and she said "let me check on your order." What?? Is anyone in there actually working? We paid $21 and got three large fries which we didn't eat and threw away. Because we didn't want fries. Be better DQ. I stopped in for a quick dinner this evening and was not at all pleased with my experience. I spent a little over $28 for myself and my two daughters to eat there. I ordered the shrimp basket for $5.99 (which did not include a drink) and requested something other than a side of cole slaw, and the girl behind the register told me she could substitute a salad. I agreed, but when we got our food, the 1/4 cup of slaw accompanied a measly amount of shrimp and fries. When I asked for the salad I was told that it would be an additional $1.50! I was shocked! The amount of food in the other dishes that I ordered were some of the smallest portions I have ever seen served at a Dairy Queen Restaurant. I will not be returning to this Dairy Queen. read more
