I wouldn't go back to him. I hate to be a critic but my experience was kind of scary. He double processed me and seemed like he had no idea what he was doing. At the shampoo bowl he then brought over more bleach to paint it on my wet hair and then back under the dryer. I just want to publicly apologize to my hair for this. Raul is the BEST!!!! I went in and my hair was fried and trashed. Yellow Gold Brown Orange... I had it all. He was careful about how much bleach he put on it and how long he left it on. He trimmed it and set me up for an appointment to come back for extensions and more color if my hair held up. When I went back in he looked at my hair to see if my hair could withstand more. After carefully examining it he decided I was good to go. He finished making a beautiful Blonde. No yellow no gold!!! He put in extensions that are Fabulous!!! Raul (aka. Doctor Blonde) is AMAZING!!! I was going to be in the area for the Billboard Music Awards show and my friend that lives in Las Vegas referred a few of us to Raul aka. Doctor Blonde. He was absolutely amazing from start to finish. He was able to come to us at Caesars Palace for a day of beauty with me and three of my friends. We all had such a great experience and Raul truly knew what he was doing. So much so, that we should have been on stage that night at the awards show! We all looked and felt like celebrities with how well Raul styled our hair. Needless to say, we were all extremely happy. Raul is extremely talented at doing hair; he is also one of the nicest, friendliest and fun stylists I've ever been to. Raul was very professional, listened to our requests and asked a lot of questions to ensure we were all satisfied with our hairstyles. The time and effort he put into making sure we were happy was truly amazing. From the first time I talked to Raul on the phone to the last bit of styling, he was a true perfectionist making sure he had every little detail to ensure we were all absolutely fabulous as we went to the BMAs. Raul took the time to explain to me how he works, what he envisioned for us all and let us have a lot of input of our likes and dislikes throughout the process, and we couldn't have been happier with it! Seriously, I felt like we were all the rock stars going on stage to collect our awards that night! We all received so many compliments throughout the night and it truly was a memorable experience thanks to Raul! Growing up in Vegas, I have always relied on my friends and family to refer me to hairdressers. I took a leap of faith when I tried Raul because I didn't know anyone who knew him and only had internet photos of his work to rely on. It's scary to trust someone you don't even know with your hair. However, he held himself out to be an expert in blondes, he had very good reviews and I liked the pictures of his work, so that eased my mind somewhat. Plus my hairdresser of 8 years had over processed and broken my hair pretty badly, so I figured it couldn't get any worse. I found that Raul is somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to his job. He takes pride in his work because he knows that in his profession, all you have is your reputation. He is diligent and took his time and I gave him quite a large task! Not only did he have to delicately bleach fried hair, but also bleach portions of hair that had never been bleached, and put in darker blonde pieces. Suffice it to say, I was grateful for his patience and very pleased with his work, not only because I left with healthier hair than I arrived with, but also because the blonde turned out great. **Raul's response to my review was to say that I am confusing him with another stylist or else that I am another stylist trying to sabotage his business. Neither are true. Raul ruined my hair in April of 2014. The reason that I have waited awhile to write about my experience was because I was so upset about it and wanted to give myself time to calm down so that I could write a fair and honest review, which I did. It is a shame that this is Raul's response to my terrible experience. I hope it serves as an additional warning to those who might be thinking of using his services. Original Review: Raul totally destroyed my hair! He did highlights on my hair that caused it to break off leaving me with pieces only about an inch long all along the crown of my head. I went from having hair that was shoulder length to having hair that had to be cut into a pixie because I had no other choices. When I first saw Raul for a consultation, he told me that my hair was damaged from a previous stylist but that he could get me the blonde color that I wanted and get rid of the brass without further read more " damaging it. I told him that I was concerned about doing further damage to it and he told me that the products that he uses were so gentle that my hair would not be damaged and that he could get the color blonde that I wanted and so I made the appointment to get the highlights done. During the appointment for the highlights, it took him about 4 hours to foil my head. He then took me to the sink to take the foils out. He washed my hair and told me to go back to his chair. I got up and turned around and he was wiping the sink up with a big towel and he looked very nervous. We got back to his chair and he began drying my hair and I saw all of these spikes of super short hairs sticking up all over the top of my head. I asked him what those were and he defensively told me that it must be "new growth" because my hair did not break off during the highlighting and that I could go back and look at the sink for broken off hair if I didn't believe him (and suddenly it made sense to me why he was frantically wiping the sink out after I got up). By this point, it was well after 10 pm and he and I were the only ones in the salon and I didn't want to argue with him and I wanted to believe that maybe it was new growth and that my hair would look different under my own lighting in my home and so I paid him his $200 and left. When I got home and looked at my hair, it was melted off and destroyed. He had not cut my hair with scissors at all but I definitely ended up with a terrible "chemical haircut" as a result of his highlighting job. I'm glad that all of these other people have had good luck with him but Raul destroyed my hair and it will take about 2 years to get my hair back to what it was before going to him.
