I really like Dr. Herzog. What's even better is he cares about you. Going to the dentist has been a Trumatic experience for me since I was a little kid. Update: The extremely nice office manager Debbie called me and apologized profusely, is going to talk to Tina (that's the rude girls name) and tell Dr Bob about it. She asked what they could do to get me back and I agreed to try one more time.. she added notes to my appointment that I should be given a Tim Hortons gift card.. so we shall see...I believe in second chances and that one bad apple doesn't always reflect a bad bunch Original review: I am incensed after getting hung up on by staff at the Main St office. My last visit was at "a" main st office, I called that number to reschedule an appointment set six months ago. The woman who answered was very rude, told me I was calling the wrong office and when I probed she hastily explained that there were two offices on Main St Buffalo and I was looking for the Amherst location since "my" location had moved there. When I had to interrupt her before she hung up I asked could I be seen there, she frustratingly asked what was my insurance. I then said never mind I will go elsewhere since I didn't appreciate the way she was speaking to me. She immediately hung up on me. Unfortunately I did not get her name and I am well aware this is a big operation and don't even know who "Dr Bob" is but I am so tired of rude customer service. read more

In 2014 I left a very positive review of Dr. Bob's which I must revise. It's been a number of years since I left this practice, but I saw the positive review I left in 2014 and I don't want to mislead people. Dr. Herzog retired (his first name is Robert, but he was never actually "Dr. Bob"). Dr. Mai left, and I kept getting different dental hygienists, each of whom had just graduated from school. (Yes, I know, we all have to start somewhere, but I have very sensitive teeth, and I prefer to see experienced professionals I know.) The place suddenly had the feel of a factory to me - the decor was like hotels I've been to and the receptionist acted as if I were a bother when I was trying to make an appointment. I don't recommend it. Incidentally, the photos posted are of Dr. Herzog and his staff, they do not reflect the current staff or office. Dr Rachel was great. She can be a perfectionist, which I appreciate. Someone else wrote about rude receptionists. There is one who is definitely not the friendliest or most helpful - someone who should not be working with the public. But, I'm very happy with dr R. So 5 stars. read more

Extremely rude receptionist. I called to get an estimate on extractions and she automatically assumed I was not a patient. After making that huge mistake she finally did ask if I was. She explained that a patient/doctor relationship needed to be established before anything can be done. I asked if I could have my dental records faxed to the office if that would help with developing an estimate and she said no. I asked what needed to be done to get an estimate. She said you would need insurance. I told her I have 2 insurances. She said we don't take them. Completely dismissive. I said okay. And not once did she ask if I wanted to proceed without insurance. If this business ever wants to do well fire your receptionist because she's pushing away new clients faster than you are getting them in with her attitude. I am going to make it my business to tell my friends and family to not go here. read more

Dr. Bob, and his Staff have been great!! I have never had long waiting room times, they greet you with a smile and make you feel comfortable right away. My family and I have had dental care there by most of the dentists and Dr. Bob himself. We have ALWAYS been happy in acute or routine situations. Young guy said nothing wrong just bad case of Gingavitous??? WHAT?? 2 FILLINGS FELL OUT! PAIN WAS RUNNING UP MY HEAD UNBEARABLE COULDN'T SLEEP, COULDN'T EAT, What was he talking he Talking about? Not a lot of people like the dentist; I am well aware of this fact. As someone who has never really felt one way or the other, I think I am an impartial judge of dentists. I started going to the office of Dr. Herzog (at the intersection of Main and Amherst in Buffalo) a little over a year ago, which was recommended to me by my mother. My entire family goes there now, and I would say it is the bees knees as far as dentists go. My favorite part: it opens at 7 am so I can get an early appointment and even make it to work on time. Everyone is really nice there, from the hygenist I get to the dentist I see (Dr. Mai, who is the sweetest and has a very gentle touch in the mouth!). My mom has been having issues with a broken bridge, and they have been more than accomodating there in getting her all fixed up in a timely fashion. When people ask for recommendations for a dentist, I feel more than comfortable suggesting this office. read more
