Augie has been being groomed there for several years and I am very satisfied with the results as well as his eagerness to go there.

Not a good place. I yook my two labs there a few times. Today will be the last time. They did not tell me that the they had only one groomer working on both dogs. They kept the dogs for hours without a call to tell me they were done I keep calling them and finally after four hours I go there and both my dogs are in a small kennel and they come out with wet ears, and look absolutely traumatized. The other dogs I've seen in their day care look unhappy and the people there really don't seem like they love dogs. Beware before you take your pets there. read more

We've used Dave's Doggy Daycare for years. The staff has always been friendly and nice. They let everyone know that you need to schedule in advance on busier periods, holidays, and long stays. Their grooming has been great and we appreciate the fact that the vet is right next door which is a huge benefit since any issues or concerns are dealt with immediately at the vet. Dr. Dave cares wholeheartedly about every animal they see and cares as a human being so the the emotions we go through with out animals. The reviews I'm reading that are negative about this daycare have not been my experience at all. The staff has always greeted me and been very respectful. They're always so kind and loving to my dog. I would highly recommend everyone use this doggy daycare if they have a dog. read more

my dogs have been seeing teena for grooming for a few years now. She is wonderful with them. Takes her time, lets us know if there are any skin irritations, or if anything unusual crops up. My dogs love her, which is a huge sign that she treats them with love and kindness, and provides a safe environment for them. read more

Ness is our go to gal for all the grooming needs. I have been bringing our sweet service dog to Ness for months now and I will never turn back. Ness is so friendly and so loving to our sweet girl. Willow loves coming to see Ness. Ness doesnt treat this as a "job." She loves on them, and Willow is always coming out looking like a Queen and happy. Every time she sees Ness, her tail goes crazy and smiles. There is no one I'd rather trust than Ness with our Willow girl. read more

Over all care was not diagnosed properly , after $2k spent Grooming for the first time was unacceptable. One ear was 2" shorter than the other. And I was asked to pay and before my dog was brought out. Dog was brought out without his leash. Groomer did not come out to speak to me to say how the grooming went, or any feedback whatsoever The counter person or groomer didn't offered anything in return, not even a sorry. AND, No one even called me for a follow up to address my dissatisfaction. Went once for grooming and I will not recommend their business whats do ever. read more

July 14, 2023 Having had very positive interactions with Dr. Dave's Veterinary Hospital in Saratoga (Dr. Ryan Jennings, DVM), we have used Dr. Dave's Grooming Service located next door four times this year. The grooming service has met our expectations. However, schedule integrity and front desk service have been lacking and could use a lot of management attention, i.e., service training. Earlier this year, we arrived for grooming services that our dog wasn't on the schedule; however, when we sought help, the program was "re-checked," and grooming commenced. Yesterday, we arrived for a grooming appointment. The desk clerk told me we were not on the schedule when I asked how she could remedy the situation. Her response: "I'm new here." There's no one else you may talk to." "We could do something next Wednesday." "We only have two groomers here today; our third groomer isn't here today." Here are some suggestions. 1. Add management oversight to create a healthy work environment. Even if this is Dr. Dave himself, it shows that management cares about its customers and its employees. 1. Train customer staff to be responsive, if not empathetic. 2. Add an adequate #of groomers to address peak load days. Pay/incentivize groomers to show up as scheduled. 3. Provide Appointment cards or use an easy scheduling system like Vagaro. Once the appointment has been made, send a confirmation text. Confirm all appointments the day prior to the appointment. I apologize for the lengthy evaluation. Dr. Daves's Brand is at risk if other customers have similar experiences. I hope these suggestions help. read more

The employees that work here are judgmental and unfriendly. I came for my appointment after taking my dog to the park, and amy was definitely judging my dog and then said my appt is actually in a week. Maybe there was miscommunication..who knows who fault that was. I always add my appts on the phone with the receptionist and made this appt 3mo in advance. But I got no sorry from amy, and also watched her look at my dog like "thank god we don't need to handle him". Great bougie dog grooming, expecting the dogs to be groomed before coming. We took our 2 dogs in for grooming. One of the dogs didn't look like he even was bathed. His tail and ears were still dirty and matted. They did not trim any of the fur around his face/eyes. He left wearing our other dogs collar because his was lost! Our other dog came home with no collar. We had to go out and buy a new collar and tag. We will not be returning. read more

Should give a 0 star. Called in April requesting boarding our puppy in July for 12 days while we went to Iceland. The staff took our info and promised us that they will reserve the dates for our puppy boarding. She then scheduled us to bring our puppy in for a one hour evaluation in early July. Thank goodness I called two days before our evaluation appointment. The staff dropped the bomb on us stating they are fully booked for the summer and they do not have any reservation for our puppy. I asked to talk to the manager and try to find out what happened with our reservation since we were leaving for our trip in less than a week. Guess what, we never heard from them even to today. Our nice part time housekeeper agreed to stay and cared for our puppy at the last minute. It all worked out great! Never can trust those boarding places with such irresponsible workers. read more

Stay away. The incompetent office staff has no sense of customer service whatsoever. At best, your dog gets a mediocre haircut. At worst, you are incredibly inconvenienced, they lose your appointments, they give you an attitude, they don't cop to their own mistakes, AND your dog gets a mediocre haircut. Back in September, we called Dave's Doggy Daycare and Grooming to book future grooming appointments for our dog Happy to see his groomer, Savannah. Since they get booked out months in advance, we specifically made an appointment for December 12th to see her so that there is consistency in who he sees each time to lessen his anxiety. On November 28th, I emailed their office to confirm the time for the December 12 appointment, as well as to book the next couple of appointments for Feb 2023 and May 2023 with the same groomer as well. They emailed back confirming 10:30a on 12/12, and said we'd get a call confirming the appointment. We never got the call. Today, 12/12, we went in for the appointment as planned, and they had no record of the appointment. This, despite literally sending us an email confirming the appointment weeks earlier. They said they could "squeeze us in" with another groomer. I asked if they could find availability with Savannah, the groomer we requested months earlier, at some point during the month. Without even checking their system, they said no. We agreed to see this groomer at their insistence that she was a great groomer, and being led by the teenage receptionist into thinking we had no choice. No effort whatsoever was made to try to accommodate us with Savannah. You'd think they'd at least have the courtesy to try to right their wrong, but nope. When we went to pick up our dog, they refused to offer any discount whatsoever for a mistake that happened on their end, even despite us showing up with email receipts stating that they had confirmed the appointment with Savannah. Unprofessional and, from the look of other recent reviews, there's even some question as to their treatment of dogs that board and groom there. read more

I should not even give a one star. We have been going to Dr Dave's in Saratoga for the past 2 years. Noticed that their groomers are changing constantly lately. Recently my little Cockapoo suffered very severe clipper burns. Gross negligence. I will never go here again. My dog is suffering in pain. read more

Our two dogs have been coming here every two months, for over a year, since our groomer moved from PetCo to Dr Daves. The front desk is great, they are flexible with appointments and always call to confirm. The pricing is very reasonable and we love our groomer. My dogs are not entirely happy about the grooming process but I have complete trust in our groomer to make it as enjoyable as possible. I can personally recommend both Xochitl and Savannah. read more

Had to take my dog here because our regular groomer was all booked (need to book at least a month in advance!), but we wanted to have our dog groomed before visiting some family with him (we wanted him to make a good impression)! We have a golden retriever, which means he has a lot of hair. Not long after his grooming here, his paws started looking "grinch-ish," meaning the hair between each of his pads grew out pretty long. With our other groomer, his paws stayed nice and clean, almost like mittens, much longer. Also, just his general cut was not done well. There were a lot of stray hairs and areas where the cut was uneven. Sad to say, but we would not bring our pup back here. Bonus - before you can bring your dog to this groomer, they have to contact your vet and confirm that he/she is up-to-date with vaccinations. I appreciate this as it will help to keep all our fur babies healthy. read more

We took our 4 month old golden doodle for her first grooming with Sara. Our puppy is quite timid, so we were a little nervous. Sara did exactly what we expected. Folks - the Dave's Groomer is a total joke. Don't even bother with them.... They just cannot keep any appointments - always some excuse from them as to 'the groomer is sick..', 'blah blah blah...' I mean - I book appointments 1 month in advance, and 2 out of 2 times they have failed to groom my Dog. 1 month in advance - then cancel - then they punt me to another 1 month out - then cancel. WTF!? Seems to me they want to shut down this business - just sell it to someone who cares and can hire the appropriate staff. read more

Don't take your dog to this place if you want them groomed. Take them if you want him/her shaved because that's all they offer if they spot any mats. Our pup had maybe 3-4 mats but they insisted many many times to shave his entire body off and in a rude tone. We have had other groomers who have shaved matted areas while still keeping the dog's fur neatly styled (which is why we wanted a groomer). Our dog doesn't even look the same anymore. Worst groomer I have ever used. Completely ruined my dogs hair cut. Service was ok but the actual cut was horrible. Luckily it was a first puppy cut so they didn't cut her whole coat. But completely ignored instructions. We cancelled the final grooming appointment and will be finding a much better groomer moving forward. read more

I cannot more highly recommend Dr. Dave's. My dog Charlie gets groomed there every four weeks with Megan, who makes my dog look and smell amazing. My little mini schnauzer is a sweetheart, but she's a little challenging because she hates being groomed. However, Megan never complains, and only comments on how sweet she is. Megan does a fantastic job, and is very easy to communicate with. Everyone here is great, as are the related vet and other location in Campbell. I am always hesitant to leave my dog with other people, but feel very confident when I drop Charlie off here that she will be well taken care of and safe. The people here seem to really like dogs and are responsive and kind. Plus, they are great groomers. read more

Teena groomed our bedlington terrier and did a fantastic job. A bedlington cut is one of the most challenging and he looks great. Our dog also can be difficult to manage because he is often afraid of the brush and snaps at you when he is being groomed. She had no problems with him, and was able to get him to calm down with no incidents. So thrilled with her work and Dr. Daves. read more

I know this place is a fine establishment but my dog was groomed here and its the ugliest he's ever looked. I didn't feel like the groomer really listened to me. My dogs hair is completely gone and the breed is supposed to have long hair. He looks ridiculous and it's going to take a while for his hair to grow out. I knew it needed to be shorter than usual, i explained to the groomer that it could be short due to his matts but to leave something and leave his head hair long. we have been through this before with our old groomer when he had matts. It's not a problem. But the groomer at dr Dave's was a bit hurried and short with me and clearly didn't care what i wanted. She shaved him so his skin shows through and then cut his ears super short so he looks like he has a bob. He's actually shaking all the time because he's freezing and has to wear a sweater. read more

This place is great! We are here visiting and one of my dogs became ill, snotty nose and a cough. I was nervous about taking her to a stranger, but the symptoms required that she be seen. All went well and my dog is doing great. We came back for baths and haircuts and they look better than ever. My dogs were so happy. While waoting for my dogs, i watched the dogs in daycare and thwy all seemed to be okay. I cannot imagine standing in the middle of a pack of dogs and staying so calm. My personal favorite was the little French Bulldog puppy sitting in the corner taking it all in without a care in the world. Maybe someday my dogs can come to daycare. Thanks to a great staff. Every one at Dr. Dave's...really cares! In preparation for Lucy's week - long visit, she required an evaluation and a look as to how she socializes with the other dogs. Makes sense! Probably unlike your dog, my dog is scared and will show teeth if too many dogs approach her at once. Lucy's the one in charge. Well, every staff member was calm and truthful with me, having ideas as to introduce her. They were with Lucy every step of the way. The visits every few days paid off and Lucy became comfortable and enjoyed her time with the other dogs. I couldn't have felt more at home with Dr. Dave's crew! Thank You!! read more

I took my Maltipoo to Dr. Dave's a few times. At first I thought they were great. My dog would look really great and Stacy at the front desk was wonderful and super helpful. My dog tends to be pretty anxious- especially about going to the groomer but- there were a couple of times he was groomed by Jules and when I picked him up he was more anxious than usual...... The last I took him to Dr. Dave's he started shaking when we walked in ! I wasn't sure what to make of that? Jules came out and I mentioned that we were moving and it would his last visit and that he had something between his eye- like tar- wasn't sure. My dog did not want to go with her and I wrote it off to him being overly anxious.... When I picked him up he had a wound that had been bleeding where the 'tar' was (which turned out to be sap) Jules did not come out to talk to me.(which it what the groomer usually does)....My dog was freaking out! Dr. Dave came out and I said -he didn't look like this when I dropped him off??? Dr. Dave took him to his office next door to clean up the wound- apparently Jules decided to forcefully remove the sap off of my dog's skin- can you imagine how painful that must have been!!!!!!! I'm guessing since I told her that was going to be our last time there she figured that hurting my dog was no big deal. I'd like to know what she did to him during prior grooming's to cause him to literally start shaking when we entered the building??? Now he goes to a groomer who may not to a super fancy job like Dr. Dave's- but my dog is not scared to death to go there! UPDATE: I'm going to assume that the response from Katie from Dr. Dave's is an effort to save face. These are the facts: When I came to pick up my dog he clearly had a bloody wound between his eyes where the sap had been- and it looked quite bad! Dr. Dave came out and took Jax took his office and cleaned it up at that point- not before. I was told by another groomer that when sap has become attached the an animals skin the only humane thing you can do is to let the coat grow out and then cut it. As I said before- I'm not saying that my dog is not prone to anxiety- but the last time we walked in to Dr. Dave's he started shaking really badly and I chose to ignore it- after what happened with the sap removal I feel pretty awful for forcing him to stay! and I just can't help but wonder what kind of tactics they use to get dogs to submit to get those perfect grooms! read more

We have a 6 month old morkie, Max. This is his first time at a doggy daycare and he absolutely loves it here! We were quite picky on where to bring him and we were so happy to find this place. We bring him for half days just to get social play time. Although the place is pretty small, I don't mind it is as much because Max is not with 50 dogs at a time and we feel he's getting more attention from the staff. The staff are super friendly and we feel very comfortable each time we drop Max off. Thank you to all the daycare staff for being so welcoming and taking care of Max!! Highly recommend :) read more

Dr. Dave's Daycare is amazing. The staff is great and the facility is clean. My puppy Ollie has been going since he was 3 months old and he loves it. He comes home happy cause he's played all day. The only place we trust with our baby. The front office team are fantastic and clearly are passionate about the animals in their care. Everyone knows our pepper by name and treat her with love. Their prices are affordable, and it's amazing to know your animal is being cared for when you can't be with them. Pepper always comes home exhausted and happy. My dog Lennox loves going to daycare at Dr. Dave's in Saratoga. All of the staff treat him like a beloved family member. Lennox get so excited when we pull up to daycare that he practically pulls me into the building. I know that my little sweetheart is well taken care of and loved when I leave him at Dr. Dave's. I cannot recommend this service highly enough. It is also helpful that there is an on-site veterinary clinic, also run by Dr. Dave. When I have questions about Lennox or his general health, or need veterinary care while he is at daycare, the staff are happy to oblige. I also like the fact that they have dog grooming available, so that I can request that Lennox have a bath while he in their care. read more

DO NOT bring your dog here for grooming! We normally bring our Golden for grooming to the Bascom location (which is great). This time we went here (Jules was the groomer) and big mistake. Our Golden came home shaved! :( Anyone who knows anything about dogs know you do not shave a Golden unless there is a medical reason to do so. read more
