I had an experience at this office that left me feeling very uncomfortable and disappointed. During one of my visits, I overheard the office manager say that Dr. Sam was a "Trumper." As a Black patient who has referred many of my Black family members here for care, that comment did not sit well with me and raised concerns about the environment and values of the practice. In addition, the office manager's demeanor has consistently been unprofessional. She comes across as rude, has difficulty communicating respectfully with patients, and often seems to undermine others rather than support them. What makes this even more disheartening is that there is a young Black woman who works closely with Dr. Sam who is incredibly kind, professional, and hardworking. From what I've observed, she helps keep things running smoothly and is a vital part of the team. They appear to work well together, but it makes me wonder if she is truly valued and respected. Overall, this experience has made me question whether this is the right place for me and my family moving forward. read more

Stratford office is Great services going there past 10+ years, but billing vs insurance is horrible & they never get back to you going twice a week in calls to them & in person visits. In 11/13/2024 they ask to pay $160 upfront(for cleaning) because they feel insurance will not cover, then my insurance paid them in full, they cannot account & provide my refund-that is fraud. They were paid by UHC in March2025 & here it June 2025 . Only answer since April 1 is we are checking, sorry, I'm not getting billing answer-sorry, I am checking-sorry. I've been going to this dentist for about 3 years now - there's the first red flag. Every time Dr. Elahy "fixes" the problem, weeks later I end up in excruciating pain and have to go back months later for her to fix it. My oral hygiene is fine - it's this dentist that does such a half-attempt job every time and does not take the time to give real dental assistance. The assistants are absolutely terrible as well. They will cancel your confirmed appointments for no reason, they'll forget to send prescriptions more often than not, and they'll give you attitude as well. read more

Went back to this dentist recently. Told I needed deep cleaning which my insurance doesnt cover but slso had an infection in my tooth. I wss told they would call in prescription and need root canal. This was a Monday. I week later and still no antibiotics. Made multiple calls and was told they would email the dentist. Never heard back. Ok, so two things going on here with the review. 1. The office staff are great. I've never had a problem at all when it comes to scheduling, even if it's on an urgent basis. I've always been able to get in quickly, check in is smooth and everything goes well as far as administrative work. 2. The practice manager, Kiara, really came through when it came to helping to correct a pretty serious issue I had here with one of their (FORMER) dentists. She's got my thanks for coming through for me. Mary, the regional manager deserves some credit too in addition to another location for stepping in to help out. Some of the Doctors can be a little "hit or miss". I had some work done, it didn't work out and needed to be re-done -- more extensively and more expensively. Luckily, management stepped in and is working to make things right. Problems happen - it's what occurs after one shows up that makes the difference and so far, this office delivered. You know the feeling you get when you walk into a place and you know it's not right? Well my feeling was 100% right. The dentist bold-faced lied to me about pending treatment stating she would go into detail about my problem with the insurance company, and told me also to contact the insurance company as well after 2 weeks in hopes that my procedure would be covered. After speaking with the insurance company (2 weeks later) I found out the claim was never submitted, it was as if I was never there. Then she didn't even bother calling in my script! So have been and still am in severe pain and no relief and was given false hope. read more

My Daughter, 2 at the time but now 3, was given sub par care. I asked multiple times about a specific issue with her front teeth. They swore up n down it was damage from too much fluoride. She was taken every 6 months. Diligently had her teeth brushed 2x day and turns out after a second opinion at another dentist specializing in children that she had a mouth full of cavities preventable with proper dental care. DO NOT bring your children here. They are NOT suited for pediatric dentistry. She had to have FOUR teeth pulled-her front top teeth. Has FIVE crowns and a few others with fillings. The complete negligence of the dentist here is unacceptable and we are considering suing for the sake of not letting another child go through the ordeal my daughter did. they should be shut down and have their license taken away. read more

My review was removed for some reason? Maybe they did not like my honesty. The office is dirty, the rooms are not rooms.. they're cubbies. Everything can heard from other patients because there are no closed doors. I heard the woman next to me be told that she really needed to get a tooth removed because it was rotting.... It took over 45 min for me to be seen when there was originally no one ahead me( for some reason someone who had arrived after me was seen before me). Even the tools used to take X-rays are dirty.. but they cover it w plastic bags so you're not actually touching the tool? I do not recommend .. the only reason I stood was because I thought I had something really bad going on w my wisdom tooth. The receptionist is incredibly rude and unprofessional. When I first called to make the appointment it took the receptionist a solid 30 seconds to respond to me because she was having a conversation w someone else about ordering donuts... priorities.. I am such a baby when it comes to the dentist and always end up in tears. My whole life I have had so many nightmares but coming here is so comforting Rose greets you at the front with warmth and smiling and so helpful I was taken to my chair by Khadijah who just makes me laugh and stay so calm I had two fillings and a cleaning and the whole time Dr. Salim and Khadijah went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure I was comfortable constantly asking if I'm ok. I've been going to this dentist for years. And I really had nothing bad to say about them. However I don't even know if they're open anymore. I have left 3 messages for them to return my call to make an appointment. And I have heard nothing back completely unprofessional. And I need to be seen because there's something wrong with my tooth and I think it's infected. They never answer their phone. They stop taking Saturday appointments. And they don't call back after someone leaves a message. I think after 3 voicemails I should have gotten a phone call back out of courtesy but I guess the staff there has too much to do. Then call their patients back who have been loyal. I'm reading the reviews from the past month or so. I guess I'm not the only one that has a problem with this dentist. What I find Amazing is the truth. That is bothering me and that has a post pocket on the gum, so it's clearly infected is a tooth that they've worked on. I have been going to Dr. Dental since this year only, at the beginning it was great and I gave them 5 stars. After today I'll find a different dentist. They're consistently changing your appointment times without confirmation from you, then it's a disaster from there to try to change it to your original appointment time. For example my appointment was originally at 1 pm, then I got a text to confirm my appointment for 10:40 am, okay I guess that time works. I hit confirm and now my appointment is at 9 am?? So I call, wait for 10 minutes, hang up and call back just in case they forgot about me. 10:40 is no longer available. They can do 8 am or 1. So, I guess I'll go at 1? I arrive today at 1, a little before. Wait til about 1:24 to ask how much longer and the receptionist goes to ask. About 10 minutes. Then the DH assistant comes out and says, 10 minutes to get in the chair. Another 15-20 until she's seen. So basically an hour after my appointment time, no thanks let's find a new dentist. Update: to their response, it's now January 15th and no one from their office has reached out or tried to resolve anything. :) read more

I completely underestimated this place. This was my second time here for my annual cleaning and I had the same doctor. He remembered almost every detail from my last visit, which I was impressed with, and let me ask as many questions as I wanted. Many dentists have tried to sell me Invisalign for my bottom teeth since they shifted after my braces were taken off, but they have never tried to pressure me into anything. I felt very comfortable as if I had been going there for years. It isn't the fanciest or the most high end office as per the other review, but the employees more than make up for it - definitely do not judge by the exterior. I brought my son into this office on 4/2. We normally go to the Derby location but they never seemed to have a dentist available because no one was showing up for work, so we ended up at the Stratford location. They never asked us to update our information even though we had not been to their office for 3+ years. I thought the Dr Dental computers were connected and they must have had my updated information. To my dismay about 6 months after my son's visit I get a bill from collections for Sealants they did on my son's teeth without my consent. I found out through talking to their office and my insurance that they sealed 15 of my 14 year olds teeth!! My insurance covered 8 of those teeth but now I am being stuck with the bill for the other 7 teeth that I never agreed for them to seal. My child has never had a cavity or had any issues where sealing these teeth were needed for preventive care. I have spoke to the office many times and I am told they will call me back and handle it. No one ever returns my calls. It is scary to think they can just do whatever they want back there and I am stuck paying the bill. Horrible experience. I have now switched dentists. Even before this happened when I left their office on 4/2 I knew I was switching. The front desk was awful. We never spoke to the dentist and there was no heat in the waiting room and it was freezing that day. Not to mention it looked like a construction zone with stained cement floors, unpainted cinder blocks, and dilapidated furniture. All around an awful experience. read more

I had an implant put in here 2 years ago. It became "jiggly" 2 weeks ago. I since have been seeing a better dentist. (Dr. Miller in Fairfield). But thought I'd go back to who did my implant. They set me up with a regular dentist, not a surgeon, which who does implants!!! They took a SHOTTY X-ray. The dentist tells me I'm losing bone, and basically my implants shot, I don't need to do anything, just get my teeth clean. I'm like WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!? Then tells me to see a specialist. I freak out for a week. Thinking I'm going to need to get my implant redone (along with each tooth on each side she told me was losing bone too). Go to see an actual cosmetic dentist and told me exactly what my husband, who does construction told me after looking at my X-ray. You implant is in the bone, it's the crown. Come to find out, my crown was never properly implanted. So now I need to have it removed and fixed. DONT GO TO DR DENTAL FOR COSMETIC WORK!!!!! read more

I can't give enough praise, especially regarding Dental Assistant Albany, and of course, Dr. Ma and Dr. Salim. I have to say I was quite apprehensive about seeing the dentist. Only because I have had so many problems finding an ethical, honest and professional group that I could do business with. I was the victim of several dentist who claimed I needed a lot of work done and my insurance wouldn't cover it. Turns out I didn't need any of the work they claimed needed to be done. Today I tried this dentist for several reasons and I was so impressed how my visit was handled. First, they did find some issues that the other dentists did not find such as a piece of bone from a broken tooth under the gum line. They not only provided a caring and professional environment but when it was through they advised me on how to proceed with my insurance company. They gave me options instead of ultimatums. The are first class and first rate and I highly recommend them. Now a days, finding the right dentist is the hard part. Update: They really botched the paper work and it has taken months to get the paper work completed for more work with my insurance company. They kept trying to blame the insurance company but it turns out they didn't file the paper work correctly. They also told me things that were just not true like I was denied. I originally gave 5 starts but reduced it to two because I came in for one thing and although they have give good dental service, it was not the one thing I wanted in the first place. I give them 2 stars now and am moving on to another dentist. read more

I was going here for about two years, everybody was very friendly and the dentist was super nice. It all went downhill when I needed my wisdom teeth taken out. I told them if they weren't going to put me to sleep I did not want to get it done there. The dentist got really bothered and had an attitude. So my next cleaning after my wisdom teeth being taken out they started messing up all of my files. First they said I needed my wisdom teeth taken out, i said I already got it done. Next time they said I had two cavities and needed a filling, a couple minutes later they apologized and said that those were from a couple months ago. The last straw was when they called for my next cleaning for me and a boy named Christian... I kindly said I'm not on file with a Christian... the receptionist said,"are you sure you don't have anybody in you family named Christian?" I said," yes I kno I my family" and she kept INSISTING I had somebody in my family named Christian because it was on my file.... I'm sorry but this all was just so unprofessional. How do you mix up somebodies files? I won't ever come back here again. read more

They always keep you waiting at least a 1/2 hour. The girl at the desk had a really nasty attitude . The waiting room was FILTHY. The carpet badly stained and needed vacuuming, the windows look like they have never been washed. The coffee station needed cleaning, coffee table covered with dust. And this is supposed to be a health care facility??!! If it's this gross on the front side of the business what's it like in the back where they treat people??!! read more

My complaint is with the Stratford office. I am an implant patient who was happy with 1st appt. The follow-up was normal, after surgery. This was in late January. My next visit was March 18th, after healing period. I was sent a voicemail 1hr before my scheduled appt. to call office. Anyhow, I didn't see voicemail, so I went to dental office as scheduled and was informed my appt. had to be rescheduled 2 full weeks later. The reason being, they did not have the equipment to perform my visit!!? What the HELL? It was allegedly at the Stamford office and the dr. would not be back in Stratford office for another 2wks., ..allegedly. So I suggested why don't you schedule me for appt. at Stamford office? They're all booked up, allegedly. So now I am inconvenienced in a major way and the Dr. doesn't even give me a personal apology or explanation as to why the implant kit is not there to perform my office visit, but leaves it up to receptionist to explain HIS INCOMPETENCE. This is highly annoying and very unprofessional. Moreover on their appt. card it states; "if unable to keep appointment, kindly give us 24 hrs. notice". How sad is that?!!! read more
