I had previously fixed my iPhone 6 in this store. Second time here to fix an iPhone 5 for a friend. There are probably a lot of people offering these service but honestly these folks have the best prices not only for phones but also laptop, data recovery, all hardware and software fixes. I mean 39.99 for a screen repair is great. And it only takes 10 minutes. The phone looks really in shape and there is no sign of repair. The guy helped us was named Juda. That was very shorted lived. First of all let me clarify that I am not avid yelper so this update should have been posted long ago. Shortly after the repair the phone and the screen started to come apart at one of the corners, thus creating a small gap. I called like 3 to 4 weeks after the repair and they said that it was out of warranty and there was nothing they could do. I ended up taking the phone to the Apple Store and it got done right for a bit more than what I paid at this establishment and needless to say it lasted a long time until I lost the phone... I am absolutely appalled. I brought my MacBook Pro in here because it had the white screen of death. Juda said he was going to replace the video card. When I picked up my computer it worked for about an hour and then it went back to the white screen of death. When I brought it back he said "it will need a new video card I just worked on the existing video card." Which is a bunch of bullshit for $250 you should get a new video card installed. I brought it back and waited another few days, picked it up and now the lights on my keyboard don't work. This establishment is extremely unprofessional and they have no integrity with their work. I strongly suggest that you don't waste your time and money with this ridiculous place. OK so after a month of having my computer back I am once again staring at a white screen. I came in after I accidentally dropped and broke my external hard drive to see if my files could be recovered. I didn't appreciate the proprietor's tone of voice when I told him what had happened; I felt bad enough that I had lost so many important files and was then made to feel like I was putting them out and that working on my hard drive would be a tremendous amount of work. I was told it was $75 up front and that the hard drive would be destroyed in the process of trying to recover the files, so I basically had a one-time shot. I had to call three times over the course of the next month to check on their progress. During the third call, I was informed that they tried to recover the files but there was ultimately nothing they could do (something they had known for a week, but no one ever called to tell me). The 1-star review does not reflect their inability to save the files-- I believe they did their best and obviously know much more about this kind of work than I do-- but rather, their customer service. I would have appreciated a more thoughtful interaction when I first came in, as well as a follow-up call when they realized they could not save my hard drive. read more

What's most important to me when it comes to tech items is trusting the shop and I can vouch that they gave me back my $2,000 computer cleaner and newer than when I handed it in, proving that their serious about their customer service. In response to the owner's response to my review, it is in fact this location. I have no personal issue against the owner, but rather the people I dealt with for my repair. I have statements to prove it and the two names I remembered were Juda and Sam. The first issue was with Sam. He ordered the wrong battery for my MacBook so he then made me pay an additional $10, wait longer and come back another day. The customer service just wasn't there. These guys are great! My 8 year old broke off a lighting cable piece in an iPad. We got the piece out, but the charging port no longer worked, so once the batter died, it was a dead iPad. When I went to Apple they said the only option was to buy another one (which they'd sell me for $250) and when I went to several non-apple places, no one would touch the iPad saying replacing a charging port was too complex. Basically, I had a $450 paperweight. I found these guys via Google and then Yelp and sent an email. Juda answered and told me they could replace the lightning port. He cautioned me that there was a risk of cracking the screen, but if that happened, it could be replaced as well. I brought in the iPad and 3 days later, it was working perfect, without any kind of screen replacement. The whole ordeal cost me less than $100. From paperweight to perfect working order in 3 days, all thanks to Juda and his team. Can't say enough positive about them. Yes, they know how to fix phone screens, but don't be deceived by the good reviews. Those reviews aren't real. Believe me. My experience concluded with a call to LAPD. Owner, Juda, is a loudmouth who could sell ice to a polar bear. He is also as dishonest as the day as long. But, he knows how to talk his way out of anything. After they repaired an iphone 5 screen (competently enough), I brought in a MacBook Air with a damaged display. They did not know how to fix it. Wouldn't even give me a repair estimate. When I finally came to pick it up so I could take it to someone who knows how to fix it, Juda demanded a $100 for "storage" and "diagnosis." For something he did not know how to fix. Nothing in writing. When I balked at paying, Juda became aggressive and threatened to assault me and vandalize the computer. I called the cops. Juda tried to sweet talk them by promising an LAPD discount. Got the computer back minus the power cord which Juda kept for himself. Then, we learned that on top of everything else he destroyed the computer's motherboard. Just icing on the cake. Avoid, avoid, avoid! read more

a little update three months later from writing this review: The Yelp page says to check in and you get a discounted rate but that's false, they make you write a review in front of them in order to get a discounted rate. This explains all the good reviews (who would leave a bad review of a business in front of the business owner? It's called observer bias). At the time I wrote my original review, of course I'd give them a good rating because they fixed my broken screen, i thought I got a good deal, and the business owner was watching me write the review. The screen wasn't even placed evenly but at the time I thought an uneven screen was better than a cracked screen. About a month later (in April), I take my phone out of my pocket to see that a portion of the screen had CHIPPED OFF! but wait, it gets better... the entire screen is now coming off due to weak adhesive and is sometimes completely UNRESPONSIVE to touch. This has resulted in me unable to answer phone calls, or text people back right away. They clearly use cheaper material. The business owner may reply to my updated review and say my original review was three months ago and is irrelevant, and he's not responsible for what happens to my phone when it is out of the month warranty, but I am simply sharing my thoughts and experience with the business. I try to give honest and detailed reviews based on my experiences with a business and this is another one of those reviews. Take my advice and skip this place and just go straight to the Apple Store where you are guaranteed quality service. read more

I have to let all Yelp! users know about Dr. Digital. This may be the most valuable Yelp! experience I have ever had. I say that because if you want to put a pricetag on how much I would have suffered and the time it would have taken to get me back in business vs. how they helped and what they charged then their assistance was the most valuable I have ever experienced. Before I continue, this is NOT a review for a cracked cell phone screen or some phone repair job. It appears there are a lot of reviews of that nature for this company. That is great and all but I needed a skilled laptop/desktop repair technician with knowledge of the latest Windows operating systems and updated versions. If you need COMPUTER REPAIR do not pass on this company just because you read a bunch of cracked glass iphone repair reviews. I run 2 internet companies and my lifeblood is my laptop. If it is out of commission then Im in deep trouble. I had been avoiding and X-ing out the Windows 10 upgrade for quite a while. I did NOT want to upgrade since I had major problems when I upgraded from 8 to 8.1 version. I never want to do this again especially because I use 5 screens and the multiple screen issues that arose were a disaster. Without going into a bunch of detail, NVidia cards were not supported and created problems. I had a computer repair expert come out to my office on a Saturday morning for an urgent call. He has experience with computer repair and has fixed issues for me in the past. I wont mention his name or company because he failed miserably. He not only did NOT fix the problem where I could not use all my other monitors but he managed to make my primary laptops screen completely BLACK. My laptop was now completely useless. At least before I had the one laptop screen. He advised me to take my laptop to Geek Squad at Best Buy. I was immediately skeptical and said I had issues with them and their level of expertise in the past. Then he advised me to go to Fry's which had an in house repair facility. I ran to Fry's on that Saturday where they tried to hook my laptop up to an external monitor. After a few quick troubleshooting steps they told me the standard garbage: we need 3 to 5 business days to diagnose the issue then we will most likely need to reinstall a clean version of windows- do you have everything backed up? Criminal. All I could think of was all the pop settings in outlook (I have over 50 emails) and all the other programs I would need to reinstall, etc. Just the most anxiety Ive had in a while. Their assessment and time to fix the issue was totally unacceptable. As a long shot, now being late in the day on a Saturday, I did a Yelp! search in my car for computer repair. I got a gentleman on the phone named Sam who said I could come in right now and we would take a look. When I arrived I saw a workshop where technicians were laboring over devices and electronics. Sam hooked my laptop up to an external monitor and let me know that he got the same result. However he just pressed CTRL+K or some letter which was the Windows 10 hot key for turning off the screen. That SIMPLE ACT fixed my monitor and I at the very least was back in business immediately! Remember, I had a veteran expert come to my office who couldn't figure this out and I had the Technician at Fry's who missed that as well. Only someone with working, up to date knowledge of the latest operating systems, in this case Windows 10, would know that this existed. Sam knew. This where it gets even better. Sam then showed me a very simple way to go to the control panel and then simply REVERT BACK to my exact original configuration of Windows 8.1! It was right there on the screen: he showed me how you go to this page and it asks you "Do you want to revert back to Windows 8.1?" He said you only have 14 days to do this option so do this asap. I said I would do it the second I drove back to the office. I said will this fix all my monitors in the office? He said yes it will go back to exactly the way it was. He was right. Everything is completely fixed now and its all because of the knowledge and expertise of Dr. Digital and Sam. I asked how much do I owe you? He said come on, what am I going to charge you for 5 minutes of work? He's so right. Other places would have kept my computer for 3-5 days simply so that they could charge more money. I know this is not a great way to stay in business as a small business owner but it it the best example I have seen to exhibit honesty, integrity and service. I did not pay a cent but I swore I would go and write Dr. Digital a good review. Its the very least I could do. Thank you. read more

I wanted to update my review two months ago but I didn't have time until today. The story is that I got my cracked iphone 6 repaired with a refurbished screen from Dr. digital and worked well for about 2 months then the screen parts starts to coming off from frame. I didn't go back to Dr. digital because he had really bad attitude because of my 3 star review regarding writing review in the store. I went to another repair shop and was told that my refurbished screen was bad and cannot be repaired unless I replace a new one so I had to replace a new screen for my iphone 6. So far no problem with this new screen. I just wanted to share my bad experience with Dr. digital's refurnished screen on my iPhone 6. I got the refurbished screen coming off from frame returned to me so I have a proof of the bad refurbished screen. read more

DO NOT BELIEVE A SINGLE REVIEW HERE. Based on my experience this is what I think his business model is: he gives you a good discount if, while you're at his store, you allow him to write his own yelp review/rating on your account. That is what happened with me. After he repaired my phone, it was a complete disaster. The screen keeps pressing buttons on it's own, calling people, hanging up, etc. The phone went from broken screen but functional to completely unusable. When I went back, he not only did he refuse to help me out in any way, but he demanded EVEN MORE than the original charge to refix it, seemingly because he already had his yelp review. Furthermore, there were two other people in the store with the same dilemma. And I kid you not, at least one other phone call that must have been the same. He was rude and nasty to every person that needed further help after he messed their phone up. I couldn't believe the 180 on his attitude after he already got his money. Went in and the price to repair a iphone screen was great, the guy behind the desk told me I HAD to replace the LCD and that he was going to give me a deal and give it to me for 100$, except that every other place in the valley will replace the LCD and Glass for 80$. When I told him that, he told me that it was impossible and that Im making it up, but the place right down the street "Tarzana Iphone Repair" will do it for 80$, but when I got to the other place the guy said I didnt even have to change the LCD and the glass was all that needed too be replaced. I brought both my lap tops to Juda this past Saturday for assessment. My expensive lap top was not worth fixing he said. The think pad was, go figure! I drove to Fry's and Best Buy, no one had a low profile hard drive for this computer. Luckily Juda had one sitting around in a drawer and was able to fix it and reinstall Windows 7 for me. I picked it up today and so far everything works great! I've taken my other computer and cell phones here for repairs, a few times. They are always fair with their prices, and get it done quickly. As soon as the part came in, it was fixed in like one day. He got it back to me even before he said it would be ready so that was a plus as well. I really enjoyed the service I got and the job was done right the first time. He also has a really cute and friendly old dog that hangs out in the waiting area. Very sweet! I should mention my Lenovo ideapad S400 touch is what was repaired and he only charged me $200. It was much less than I was expecting and for the service I got, I was willing to give that amount and I thought that was a very fair price. I don't remember how much he said the part was or if he even mentioned it, but it was money well spent. Guys are hilarious! I was there for about 20 minutes and he had a few regulars come in. People seem to swing by just because they are cool guys. My refurbished iPhone 4S had been through a lot. They charged me $65 to replace the front screen. While he was working on it he found loose screws "just hanging out" and a little bit of water damage. He cleaned it up and dealt with all the screws for no extra charge. The guys are totally cool. They love talking to people and having a good time. I almost want to go back just to hang out! My Galaxy S2 was toast, so I decided it was time to go another direction and replace it with an IPhone hand-me-down from my wife. The IPhone in my possession had a shattered LCD screen, so I sought the expertise of Mr. Digital to set me in the right direction. Problem was, the Galaxy was on a Sprint plan, and the Phone was an ATT phone. I thought I was going to have to go through multiple vendors just get my communications up and running again. Right off the bat, he was honest and upfront, curbing any enthusiasms or false hopes. He helped me make the choices that were best for me and tailored the repairs and service to fit my needs best. Everything he did saved me a boatload of money in the end! Juda is a wonderful, personable gentleman, with very extensive knowledge of his craft. His business is a one stop shop! So convenient! In well under a couple hours, he replaced the screen on the IPhone, all the while he worked some miraculous way to get my contacts and information from my old phone by McGuivering a screen via a cable to the Samsung motherboard using a screen that wasn't necessarily compatible with my model. It was a very impressive and resourceful workaround! Its incredibly amazing he was able to do this, considering my Galaxy's history: It had fallen in a bucket of yellow paint, fallen off of truck beds putting multiple cracks in the screen, its battery was always draining too and ultimately, it met its demise when I sat on it funny and the images turned black. Juda was able to complete all of the repairs and service transference, while working on the phone of another customer, and fielding 8 phone calls! I swore he had 8 hands. No big deal! After the repairs and transferring was complete, he guided me through the process which allowed me to port my Sprint number to the ATT IPhone. Originally I thought I was on the hook with my old Sprint contract early termination fee, but he painlessly guided me through the process and fed me with the right terminology to give to the Sprint representative in order to seamlessly make the switch, and with no fees from my former service provider. In summation--- one visit, he repaired a busted screen, hooked me up with a cell phone service I wanted and at a great monthly rate! I even purchased a long overdue Otterbox case for my phone, which is invaluable for a busy, fast moving dude like me. I left his business feeling confident that even if I bust my phone 5 more times in the course of a year, I have an invaluable phone technician / genius to go to! read more

I had broken my screen on my previous phone and had ubreak it place change it.
