So after getting the screen replaced in 2022, just a few days after the 2nd screen replacement, the screen would just go black, yet the phone would work because the phone would ring and adjusting the vibrate/silent mode would work. Press the Volume Up/Down then power button will sometimes bring it to life but in the end I just gave up and bought a new iPhone 14 Pro Max. At this point I was in belief also that the phone was defective. So 2 years later (October 2024), I decided to turn on the iPhone and have my kid use it, the same symptoms came back as it should. I had activated a new line with it and was back to square one, do I replace the phone or try another shop to replace the screen and check the internals. To my surprise, the shop said he could not even tell it had water damage because everything inside the phone looked clean, (owner of iProTech also said the same thing 2 years ago, and Apple store simply did not want to even attempt to open it knowing it fell in water). So this new shop replaced my iPhone screen and it's been a week now and there has been no random reboots and the screen works just fine. I am convinced that the iPhone was ok this entire time and my iPhone just did not look the aftermarket screen provided by iProTech. This was unfortunately because the staff and owner were very accommodating. What I remember not liking was when the 2nd person from iProTech checked the device, he had said that the iPhone is bad if it the 2nd screen has issues again. I can see the logic here, but shouldn't there be some visual and hardware tests done to ensure the iPhone can accept a new screen? I did some research and I have also heard that the screen replacement on the iPhone 11 has to be OLED and not LCD or else there will be problems, I am not sure what I was provided with but my updated review is specifically on the parts used opposed to the staff. I now have a working iPhone 11 Pro Max after another shop in North Hollywood replaced it last week. read more

I've had three or four phones repaired here. The last phone was an IPHONE XS MAX 6.5". I had the screen replaced. Two days later, a very small amount of water touched the screen; the phone immediately failed. I researched why this would happen and determined that the waterproof seal ($2) was not replaced and in fact the screen was installed with a gap. This was upsetting; I paid $50 less than an Apple repair (because I couldn't wait for the Apple time frame). and lost my $1,000+ phone. I brought the phone back and was told, that yes, there is a seal (there wasn't). I asked him how the phone could possible fail with a few drops of water. His response was that all Iphones are not waterproof, they are ust water resistent and that I was unlucky. Bullshit. I asked him to fix the phone, he said he give me a discount. I agreed and he put a new screen (again, without a seal, which I fount out later). In addition to this, he took out my high res apple camera and replaced it with a cheap replacement. No face ID wouldn't work. When I asked him why the camera wasn't working. he shrugged and said it must have gotten damaged by the few drops of water. Do yourself a favor and have your phone fixed by Apple or someone else. read more

So I royally messed up on placing my tempered glass cover protection on my new iPhone and managed to get one long, stringy dust speck taunting me in the middle of the screen on every white and black screen. There was no way for me to go back. I signed up for it, I ignored all the naysayers who told me to wait it out and have a professional put on the screen and this is what happened when my ego got the best of me. You call it dramatic. I call it life. Anywho. My first instinct was just to get a price quote from T-Mobile. If I had insurance it would have been covered but because I no longer have coverage, it would have cost me $40. So I stepped outside and right in front of the store (savage but pro move), I see this kiosk offering the services I'm looking for for my phone. Ryan was able to take care of my issue and place the new cover for my phone in under 5 minutes. He was very patient, polite and meticulous with his work. Oh and did I mention it cost me ~$16 with tax? Sure, I could have bought a bundle for cheaper online but I'd rather have someone carefully put on the screen for me than risk messing it up...again. Really should've known what my experience was gonna be upon realizing this was setup in the Glendale mall... Went in for a pretty standard blacked out screen repair for Iphone 12 ($176 for aftermarket OLED copy). Everything was standard, repair took about 30-45 mins. Was told "if you have any issues within 3 months I'll take care of it" Noticed the next few days that when I would type their would be some ghost texting on the "t" and "y" keys, indicating something was clearly not installed right whatever it may be and/or a faulty screen (mind you the phone has not been dropped, banged, or handled at all improperly AND it has a sturdy case on it). Planned to take it in but like everyone else who has to work to survive I did not have the time that day. Following day the screen blacks out, the same exact issue I had gone in to replace it. Went back another day and they refused to fix their work. Instead offering a "discount of $50 for another repair with the same type of replacement screen" The tech was understanding in my thinking of why would I pay the people who messed it up with shoddy workmanship to replace it again with the same risk of it being faulty. So that specific tech earned them at least a star for compromising and attaching a used cracked screen so that I could at the bare minimum work (my phone is essential for my job). He said come back the following day talk to the manager (who installed it in the first place) Following day went back to ask if there was anything he could do and was absolutely unapologetic and did not take responsibility for his workmanship. As a professional he took 0 pride in his work, and again the solution offered was to give them money to do another replacement and install. Not a single apology, just blaming me. Moral of the story: Take your business elsewhere where they take pride in their craft read more

You can reply in a message. The warranty on their receipt has a discrepancy where they failed to define "our installed parts." So being that they were the ones to install the parts, we're going to file a mass tort and I'm really hoping we can turn it into a class-action though I think we can get it certified at 25 people. You won't have to do any of the work, just tell me about your experience over a quick phone call or email. From there I'll draft up an affidavit and send you over a DocuSign to sign and that's it! We'll get you a check plus contractual compensation if you had to buy a phone or get into a contract. They'll pay off the full price of the cancellation to get you out of it. I paid $270 for front and back where my earpiece and Face ID components were working great before I handed it to him. The employee pulled the phone apart and took all of the little parts and pieces out. When I left, I had a call come in and the earpiece wasn't working. He gave me the classic "for you" we'll fix your ear piece at no cost, but your Face ID won't work. Right!! As if you're doing me a favor... The Face ID is going to take the resale value of the phone down if it doesn't work--same with the earpiece and gap that digs into your hand on the back. I was going to sell this phone, but I'll get $300, if that in the condition it's in. I gave them $270 for front and back, so basically I'd just be giving this phone away and receiving nothing for it. I could've walked up and handed it to a homeless person and I'd be in the same position they've put me in. If it was in the proper condition I thought they'd give it back in and all working, I'd get $500 being a 512GB Xs Max. This is going to be easy, and I gave you the chance, but you didn't want to restore it to the condition it was in. Telling me, my smooth siding they took off and changed out with the scratched up silver is gone. You should've protected yourself with an arbitration clause. I will note this: The first screen wouldn't fit flush and looked like crap, and the employee told me it was because it wasn't an Apple screen, so he switched it out to what he told me was a genuine Apple screen. We'll see about that... Things that need to be fixed are as follows: my old siding back, my ear piece fixed, my Face ID working, and the jagged edge from the back to the side. If they don't fully fix this, as I've seen with many people who went back in with problems including one review where the owner said "sue me," then I will be reaching out to all of you customers who got screwed by this company. I seldom complain about things... but after returning multiple times to fix the same problem you're bound to question things. I decimated my phone screen awhile back and decided to finally fix it. I went with the original iphone screen to maintain the quality of my screen as well as the sensitivity. The first replacement cost me a $100 which I didn't mind paying but after a few days my iphone screen was unresponsive and I could barely type a word. I came back a second time, I lost the receipt which was "my bad" so again I happily paid the fee hoping that this time would the last time. When my screen darkened, it looked like there was some pixel bleed from the LCD which you could only notice if you were really paying attention. About $200 in, I didn't want to settle for some weird defect, even if it was such a minor problem. So again, I came, this time with my receipt. Again, my screen was replaced. The screen was responsive and everything seemed fine. Later on I came to realize, the left side of my screen would time out occasionally much like before. Another side note, my battery seemed to do ever poorer than before all these problems so I'm inclined to change out my battery when it won't even last a day. Safe to say, I won't be going here. It's hard for me to say what is going on here. Is it poor application? Or poor replacement parts? Or both? To be honest, knowing what I do now, I wish I saved myself the money and went to the apple store. The four and half stars is extremely misleading and I write this review in hopes to save other people the time and money.
