Dr. Kang is an extremely knowledgeable and skillful dentist focused on providing quality dental care. Having had a fear of dentists my whole life, I was negligent in scheduling preventative dental care. When the pain from a wisdom tooth became unbearable, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Kang. He performed a thorough dental evaluation and determined that the tooth was impacted and there was a localized infection. He discussed the treatment options and prescribed an oral antibiotic. A follow up appointment was scheduled for tooth extraction. Prior to performing the wisdom tooth extraction, he described the procedure to me in detail and answered all my questions, thereby alleviating my fears of the procedure. During the procedure, Dr. Kang provided local anesthesia thereby rendering the procedure painless. Follow up care was excellent and I have since had a teeth cleaning performed by Dr. Kang. I've been searching for an ideal dentist through my entire life of 40 plus some years. Before meeting this wonderful, honest and gentle doctor, every time I saw any other dentist, I used to feel that they were only seeing me as a source of income, working on unnecessary things, drilling on my healthy teeth, intimidating me by saying that my teeth will all fall out unless I blindly follow their orders. Now, I'm so happy that I finally have found Dr. Yoon, truly selfless and trust-worthy doctor who really and only recommends what is truly good for my teeth. His technique is definitely as good as, or much superior to any other I've seen. He spends time in talking and explaining to me the procedures in detail. He is truly one of a kind in the dentistry field, who understands patients' needs, how we feel about what's comfortable and what's not, and (probably from what I understood from chatting with him) who owns some academic experience in not just dentistry but in engineering science or something like that. Dr. Kang is a great option for those who are looking for a dentist in the Newton Centre area. Very accommodating despite his limited hours. Respectful of patients and takes the time to speak with them instead of at them. Explains things as well as any dentist I've ever had, so he's especially good for those who hate it when doctors/dentists use professional jargon in order to discourage and dissuade patients from questioning their actions. Dr. Kang encourages questions and does his best to answer them, providing multiple options and allowing you to have the final say on matters. For those who are local students without a school dental plan, Dr. Kang might make a particularly good option for you. I'm a BC graduate student and utilized Dr. Kang's services through the Basix (sp?) Program. You pay a reduced rate out of pocket but with no monthly insurance premiums, resulting in very affordable rates--especially for routine procedures. Dr. Kang is an awesome dentist. It's really rare to find a dentist who really gives you the sense that he wants to work *with* you rather than *on* you, if you know what I mean. He spent ample time with me to talk about the various treatment options, and is also sensitive to financial concerns. He's got a very gentle treatment technique, so that was a real nice surprise. I finally feel like I've found the right dentist that's helped me get beyond my dento-phobia. Finding a new dentist can be an outright frightening (and even debilitating) experience, so I'm REALLY glad that I've found Dr. Kang. His practice is just a few months old, so that was an added bonus that he could spend extra time with me. I definitely can tell that he's not just doing this for the money but really wants to help his patients and doesn't force treatments on you like some other "financially eager" dentists. Dr Kang is truly a fantastic dentist! I'm from Ohio and experienced a little dental emergency. Being from a completely different STATE, I was skeptical of ANY dentist. Wow, did I choose the right dentist. Dr Kang has that Midwest charm that I love (he's from Michigan!!!) and so desperately needed at a time like this. He reassured me, calmed my nerves, and was truly genuine to all of my concerns. I needed a root canal so he referred me to a FANTASTIC specialist/endocrinologist (to which he had recently referred a family member to). Again, Dr Kang didn't let me down. Recently moved from Florida to MA with my girlfriend and was in need of finding a new Dentist. Previous to Living in MA I had the same dentist for over 10+ years so needless to say I was a little nervous about finding a good fit. I had my first visit to Dr. Kang yesterday and ultimately I feel VERY lucky to have found him out of the tons of dentist in the area. He was super knowledgeable, very friendly and did a fantastic job. You can tell he takes great pride in his work and enlightened me even on some stuff I didn't even think about in regards to my dental health. Dr. Kang is my guy now! Will be making sure my whole family starts our dental health MA living with him. Very muh appreciate the care and attentiveness he gave me. Dr. Kang is the quintessential of an ideal health care provider. From the beginning, he was kind, intelligent, and straightforward about what would happen during the appointment and what the costs would be. He does everything on his own, from the paperwork (which is electronic), to the teeth cleaning, to the analysis of your overall dental health, so you get his undivided attention. I saw him for a regular checkup, but I learned an immense amount about my teeth and overall oral health during my one visit with Dr. Kang. I've been a patient of Dr. Kang's for coming on two years. I can say with confidence that he's the best dentist I've ever had, and that I highly recommend him. His practice is centered around prevention and making your mouth (and you) as healthy as possible. My experience was painless which is usually rare to say about visiting the dentist. Dr. Kang was more than happy to answer any questions I had.
