I saw Dr Kelly after seeing two other ears, nose, throat doctors who couldn't diagnose my breathing issues.

I first went to see Dr. Kmucha for a small problem. During my visit, I found out he had spent…read moreseveral hours the night before reading all my health records. Doing that helped him solve the biggest health problem in my life - a migraine (a headache so bad I couldn't tolerate normal amounts of light and always felt like I was going to puke) that never stopped. Many other doctors couldn't fix this problem, even though I went to them specifically for help with my migraine. I have a lot of very complicated health problems. One doctor told me that talking to me about all my health issues was like taking their entire medical exam with just one patient. Other doctors left me to figure what was causing my migraine on my own, but Dr. Kmucha was the first to take the time to understand what was going on. Because of his special training, he could see my problem in ways other doctors couldn't. Dr. Kmucha saved my life - I really mean that. That migraine I mentioned earlier? It never went away - 24 hours a day, every single day, for 2 1/2 years. The pain was so bad that one night, while working in a completely dark room with a fully dimmed screen and wearing sunglasses, I didn't even notice I was crying until my husband pointed it out. Before seeing Dr. Kmucha, I had gone to dozens of doctors about this constant migraine during that 2 1/2 years. I told each doctor the exact same symptoms. Instead of being curious about my problem, they just nodded and acted like they cared, but then blew me off without really helping. Each visit just delayed me from getting real help even longer. Since these doctors couldn't understand my symptoms right away, they decided I was either lying or making it up. Dr. Kmucha figured out what might be wrong before I even met him: I had something called a rhinogenic headache. What's that? After I moved to a farming area, my deviated septum (crooked cartilage in my nose) had swollen up and was pressing on a nerve that goes straight to my brain. While other doctors thought I was unstable or seeking drugs, Dr. Kmucha was thorough and paid attention to details. He gave me accurate information so I could make a good choice about my treatment. I chose to have surgery, which completely fixed my problem. I haven't had any pain from this issue for over six years now. Many doctors dismiss complicated health problems as being "all in the patient's head," but Dr. Kmucha took the time to really investigate. The hours he spent learning about my health history gave him the information he needed to actually fix my problem. He didn't just kick the can down the road like all the other doctors. I live in a rural farming area, so I have to travel far to see specialists, but any distance to see Dr. Kmucha is worth it because of his skill at solving complex health problems. Do I recommend Dr. Kmucha? Yes, absolutely. If I ever need help from an ear, nose, and throat doctor again, he will be my only choice.

Still seeing Dr Falsafi 4 years later. He's the most honest, nicest doctor i've ever met…read more According to every ENT and doctor ive seen the last 14 years, I have the most severe nasal polyps and chronic sinus issues. I saw many ent's before DR F. and none of them could handle my nasal poylps. Dr finally made me a lot better 3 years ago. We have done a few minor surgeries and check ups since. This last Dec '17, he came to the conclusion that UCSF needed to do this next surgery since he said he felt more comfortable me seeing their top sinus doctor. Im so happy with my results and the guidance of the doctor. I 100% dont agree with the negative comments about the dr being incompetent or being money hungry...he's been 100% transparent with me every single time. I'll be a life long patient of Mr Falsafi... he's an awesome man!

I visited this office and unfortunately, found the experience disappointing. While there were a few…read morepositives, the overall quality of care and professionalism did not meet my expectations. Communication & Demeanor: I found the doctor's bedside manner to be defensive and, at times, argumentative. He appeared dismissive of my prior medical history and did not seem particularly interested in understanding the full context of my concerns. Dismissive Care & Lack of Investigation: I was still experiencing significant nasal congestion and hoped to better understand the cause. Instead, the doctor attributed the problem to my saline-rinsing technique without asking detailed questions about how I was performing the rinses. I left feeling that my symptoms had been dismissed rather than investigated. There was little discussion of potential physiological or structural reasons for the ongoing swelling, and I received limited education about my condition. In addition, the long-term plan for the medications that were prescribed was not clearly explained. Office Environment: I was surprised by the office environment. The practice shares space with the doctor's wife's dental office, and an office dog barked loudly and repeatedly throughout my visit. I found this inconsistent with the professional atmosphere I expect in a medical setting. The Positive To be fair, the doctor did provide a useful recommendation regarding the type of facility that would be most appropriate if I ultimately require a procedure. Overall Ultimately, I did not feel that my concerns were taken seriously, and I left without a clear understanding of the cause of my symptoms or the plan for addressing them. Given the experience, I decided to seek care elsewhere and am glad that I did.

Unfortunately, our recent experience with the office staff -- and ultimately the decision not to see my daughter, was extremely disappointing. We had an appointment for a routine ear tube follow-up from a surgery that took place over a year ago. My husband had recently started a new job, so our insurance had just changed at the beginning of the month. It was only the 5th of the month, and we were still waiting for the new insurance cards to arrive in the mail (the insurance company had told us 7-10 business days). I explained the situation to the office staff and offered multiple solutions. I told them I would send a photo of the insurance card as soon as it arrived, and I also offered to pay entirely out of pocket for the visit that day. Despite this, we were still refused the appointment. What made the experience even more frustrating was that we sat there for about 40 minutes trying to work through possible solutions and get insurance information through my husband's employer. During that time, the office staff was not helpful or kind. We had driven 30 minutes to get there and had pulled my daughter out of school for what should have been a quick routine check-up. In the end, we left without having her ear tubes checked at all. As a parent, that is upsetting. I now worry whether everything is OK, and I feel it was irresponsible not to see a child for a follow-up appointment when a parent was willing to self-pay and resolve the insurance details afterward.

Clear communication, easy availability, amazingly gifted with young and scared kiddos... she has presented herself as an advocate for what's best for my kiddos since their charts entered her hands and it is so reassuring as a mom to know that their medical provider is considering the whole child- their future- their present experience, etc. She is incredibly patient, creative, and a true expert in her field. Extremely grateful we were referred to her! the only way the experience could get better is if we just plain didn't have to be there

So recently when I decided on rhinoplasty and various facial nips and tucks, I did a considerable amount of research. I learned that despite being a common procedure, rhinoplasty is incredibly complex. Although any plastic surgeon might attempt it, it soon became clear to me that only a double board certified facial plastic surgeon has the education to perform a reliable rhinoplasty, deep plane facelift, lip lift, or really most any facial procedure.  Narrowing my search to SF Bay Area double board certified plastic surgeons, I started reading reviews and comparing CVs. I checked state board records, Reddit, Yelp, Google Reviews, HealthGrades, etc etc.  Of all the CVs I examined, Dr. Matthew Tamplen's was the most impressive by a large margin. From his GPA and his awards to his prestigious fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Tamplen's background was not just impeccable, it reflected an unmatched depth of training and talent. Reading his online reviews further impressed me.  I did consult with several Bay Area facial plastic surgeons, and found all but one to be knowledgeable. Upon meeting Dr. Tamplen, I found him relaxed, confident, and professional but still congenial.  I settled on him to do my procedures and couldn't be happier.  Every procedure Dr. Tamplen did was simply perfect.  I'm not sure what more I can say about the results. His education and experience are reflected in my outcome.  Scars are minimal, and I look naturally refreshed. My nose is refined and subtly shaped. Despite my husband's oft repeated fears, it's not "a Michael Jackson look," and even he is impressed.  The intensive research really paid off. I found the best double board certified facial plastic surgeon in the bay area, and probably the country.  I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Tamplen.

First Time: After three consults with different surgeons in the Scottsdale, Az area I chose Dr. Tamplen. Paid him his 14k for the Rhino. He and his team were great, but the first Rhino was very botched. Not straight, crooked column, assymetrical wierd nostrils. Second try: To try and fix the my crooked nose he performed an "in the office" alar procedure to try to make my nose straight. Nose was still messed up looking. Third Try: Dr. Tamplen actually took me back in to surgery of where I was excited to think maybe he would take all avenues that many cosmetic surgeons take to make a nose straight. There are many techniques a surgeon can do to construct a straight symmetrical nose. Again, to my sadness, my nose was still crooked. I still looked deformed. Fourth Try: In February 2026 I scheduled the fourth time, but cancelled and rescheduled for April 3, 2026. I spent money to fly to AZ waiting for the day to come. About a few days before the procedure, an office lady called me and told me I needed to pay $ 2,500 for the surgery time. I was so surprised because all along all Dr. Tamplen and his staff would say " all we want you to be happy with the outcome so we will do whatever it takes." I was very upset about this because my sister had her facelift revised by Dr. Tamplen, for free of charge. The office lady said, well we have done a lot for you and your sister. I told her well I am a different patient and why can't he perform my revision free? I got so upset that I said to forget it and never tried a fourth time. You will see in the pictures how crooked and messed up my nose it. I don't even want to look at a person straight on. My advice is to ask the surgeon what he is actually go to to perform a Rhinoplasty. Ask if he is going to take part of the rib, or other grafts to do a perfect job. I always wonder how do accident victims get their faces fixed so nicely after scars and more? He kept blaming my crooked nose on a scar below my nostril. My nose looked better before I had Rhinoplasty. Also just because a surgeon is top notch in their class does not mean they have "artistic" ability. If anyone knows of a great Rhinoplasty surgeon, email me at juli1956@yahoo.com. I am 70 now but still would like a straight narrow, symmetrical nose for my last 10-20 years of life. I picked the wrong surgeon, although he was very kind but I think he did the minimum when performing procedures, so find out first exactly what they are going to use and do to make it right. Thank you.
