I got a French tip pedicure with acrylic on my big toe. The nail tech did a great job and did exactly what I asked of her. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the massage chair kept shutting off

(I usually come here and can get a full set and a pedicure with designs for $120). My total was $83 today for a full set of acrylic on my hands, regular gel polish, no design or anything fancy. Two coats of gel polish. Here's what I was told regarding pricing when I questioned the tech: to remove old gel set on my original nail ($15). Add the acrylic set on my nail ($40) and to shape it ($5). To add gel polish I guess another $20? Cuticles not cut. No hand massage. I guess you gotta pay extra to have nails cleaned. Left the table with nail polish on my cuticles and around my fingers. Scrubbed what I could off myself. Under my nails look raw and unfinished. I left disappointed and didnʻt feel like I just got my nails professionally done. It got awkward after talking about the price- I just wanted to get out of there. I feel like Iʻve been getting cheated/overcharged at Royal Nails lately especially if I am not paired with my usual techs. For the amount I paid, the quality didn't meet my expectation. E makaʻala.

The staff demonstrated exceptional professionalism and courtesy. The pedicurist was pleasant, skilled, and maintained a humorous tone. Upon arrival, I was promptly acknowledged, and despite the staff's busy schedule, they delivered attentive service, culminating in an exceptional experience that has led me to choose this salon as my new favorite.

At checkout, I noticed I had been charged an additional $7 fee that I had never been charged during any of my previous appointments. The fee was also never mentioned to me before or during my service. When I questioned the charge, I was told that the fee is on their menu and that they had simply "forgotten" to charge me for it on all of my previous visits. As a regular customer receiving the same service, I found that explanation frustrating. If I had supposedly been charged incorrectly for months, I would expect that to be communicated to me before performing the service and adding a new charge at checkout. It's not about $7. It's about transparency and consistency. Customers should know what they are going to be charged before a service is performed, particularly when they are regular clients receiving the same service they've received many times before. I had been happy enough with this salon to continue returning since May, but the way this was handled left me disappointed and uncomfortable, and I won't be returning. The vibe is just not good .
