I was quoted $130 for a full acrylic set with the new sheer Japanese polish. No fancy nail art- just polish. I asked to break it down for me as it doesn't reflect on the price list. (I usually come here and can get a full set and a pedicure with designs for $120). My total was $83 today for a full set of acrylic on my hands, regular gel polish, no design or anything fancy. Two coats of gel polish. Here's what I was told regarding pricing when I questioned the tech: to remove old gel set on my original nail ($15). Add the acrylic set on my nail ($40) and to shape it ($5). To add gel polish I guess another $20? Cuticles not cut. No hand massage. I guess you gotta pay extra to have nails cleaned. Left the table with nail polish on my cuticles and around my fingers. Scrubbed what I could off myself. Under my nails look raw and unfinished. This was my second visit, and unfortunately it will definitely be my last. The salon was unsanitary, and the service was very disappointing. My pedicure felt rushed and incomplete. The nail tech basically just painted my nails. I actually had to ask her to trim the calluses on my feet, and she never even clipped my toenails--which is a basic part of a pedicure. My feet are well-maintained, so it wasn't a difficult job, just one that wasn't done. The massage chair was dirty, and the overall cleanliness of the salon was unacceptable. There were nail clippings on the floor, and it didn't appear that the area had been swept or mopped between clients. The experience felt unprofessional, and it seemed like the nail tech lacked the experience and training needed to provide quality service. Located in Kapolei in the shopping mall with Office Max, Popeye Chicken and many other restaurants and businesses. This place is always packed and customers come from all over like my wife from downtown Honolulu she has to do her nails and pedicures here at Royal Nails, she said they do the best and there work last longer than many other places she tried. They do everything here and the service is fast because they have 24 pedicures stations and about 24 nail stations and private rooms towards the back for other types of treatments. The wait time is very minimal if any! They also have a restroom towards the back which is clean and well maintained. Lots of parking spaces as they share with the other many business. read more

This is the first time I'm disappointed after getting my nails done!!! Decided to take a recommendation from my daughter and travel to Kapolei to have my nails done at "ROYAL NAILS"... The nail technician didn't introduce herself and just handed me a nail polish sample and kept asking what color I liked . I asked if they did "cat eye polish" and she left and came back and said yes. My pedicure went well... well my daughter's experience was horrible, she refused to have her manicure done and left!!!! I explained my manicure to the technician and she said wait until it's time I'm not going to remember. She proceeded and I definitely explained that I wanted on my I ring fingers... the one on the right facing in and the one on the right facing out... after more than 5 tries she said she got it and continued on the left finger... I had specific thoughts but she never engaged with asking for my thoughts...when she was done I looked at my right hand and said it didn't look good. She did it again then said that was the best she could do... over with the unprofessional experience...I paid my tab even tipped her and left!!! I HATE my nails... Came in to get pedicures for me and my son. We were told the wait was about 30 minutes but they would call. They called and we sat down in one of the pedicure chairs, but then waited for about 30 minutes. The man who did my son's pedicure was way better than the lady that did mine. He was polite and took his time, while the lady was very short, rolled her eyes several times, and rushed through. She also said "wow" when she saw my feet in a nasty way and said $7 to use the callus remover. She spent no more time on that than any other pedicure I've had to charge extra. My big toe nail is even cut uneven. When she finished painting my nails she said "you pay now" so I gave her my card and she asked if I wanted to add anything. I said no thank you. She came back with the receipt and I asked how to add a tip, I didn't realize when she asked if I wanted to add anything she meant a tip. So she ran my card again. When she came back with that receipt, she told me we needed to leave now. My toes were still wet. She was just very rude and I won't go back just because I might end up getter her again. I never leave reviews but my nails are so bad :/ I got a gel mani/pedi. the lady was very nice but kept trying to upsell the entire time, which is fine. My fingers are in so much pain and are completely swollen from her continuing to remove skin and CHUNKS of my skin. the polish job is so bad, I asked for a red gel polish with chrome for a Xmas party, and she got the red polish on my skin (hence why she had to keep ripping my skin off). it's honestly probably the worst manicure I've ever had. Im definitely uncomfortable in these situations and didn't feel comfortable enough to speak up. although I wish I did, because my fingers are swollen and so are my toes! I keep trying to call to see if they'd be will to do a refund or just so they can be aware of this and fix for future, but the line is always busy! read more

I usually just come here to get a manicure + regular gel polish color and it is so affordable! It is only $35 (not including tip) The salon is very big and there are so many different techs so the wait is pretty much always nonexistent. Stopped into Royal Nails for a treat myself day and although they were busy, they were able to fit me in for a spa pedicure immediately with no wait. My nail tech was so friendly and did a superior job. They do charge extra for gel ($25) which is ok because it lasts so much longer in between. She also gave me a cute design on my toes which was really sweet. They are quick but don't rush you, which I love. Royal Nails is located in Kapolei Commons. Well, the holidays are over and today was the day to finally relax ,unwind and get my manicure & pedicure done. I've been to Royal Nails Salon a bunch of times now and the technicians there always give great friendly service and pay attention to your needs. Love the foot massage and hot water spa soak. The massage chair.. also a plus for a needed back massage and I usually run it twice! They provide all the services like other nail salons, walk-ins are welcomed and parking is abundant. I've been looking for a new nail place in kapolei the last couple of years... And I've tried all of them, and this was on my rotation of trying. The place is very crowded and loud, but I was able to make reservations at get in on time. I'm not sure if the girl who did my pedicure was new, but she did not seem to understand that I had concerns about trimming down the sides of my nails to prevent ingrowns. She cuts so deeply into the cuticles that my big toes were both bleeding. It took over a week to heal and was extremely sore and tender. I have this service performed regularly at pedicure places, and generally do not have issue with the procedure. I just think this particular lady did not know what she was doing about trimming for ingrown prevention. I also have my eyebrows waxed, and they did a wonderful job with that. The rest of the pedicure was enjoyable, if not, just slightly rushed. I will try it again because I know sometimes people have bad days, so I will give them the courtesy of another chance in a few months. (I just hope they don't cut too deeply on the toes again... Acrylic Nail Removal. In my last visit, I got acrylic nails and the service was amazing. The gentleman who did my nails suggested once my natural nails grow to the length that I wanted, I should come back to get the acrylic nail removed without losing the desired length. Came back almost a month later to asked for acrylic nail removal service. The nail tech Kim started by asking if I was going to get any other services. I.e. add more acrylic or do a manicure. I informed her that it's just the removal and she proceeded to soak my right hand in some type of solution. Then she immediately started removing the acrylic nails from my left hand, without it being soaked, by RIPPING them off. The very first nail (thumb) was ripped off and took a good layer and length off of my natural nail. As she continued with the rest of my nails on the left, my right hand was still being soaked. If I had known that this was how they remove nails, by simply ripping and damaging the natural nails, I would have done it myself. I've never had a bad experience at Royal nails before, but service tech Kim gave such bad experience that it reflects poorly on the nail salon itself. She didn't seem like she was quite happy that I was just getting a simple acrylic removal. It felt that if I were to have gotten other services like a manicure, then maybe her service would've been a little decent. read more

WHAT WAS BAD-The tech, Tami, ZOOMED through my pedicure. I thought I was participating in a race, she went so fast! If there was a competition on who could finish first, we would have won! I had to ask her to file the nail, not my skin! Ouch! She asked if I wanted the small callouses on my big toes removed. I agreed and all she did was the typical scrub that is included in a basic pedicure. That was an extra $7. Before she polished my toes, I pointed to my toes and showed her the dry skin she failed to scrub away. NOTE- they do not not sterilize the tools! if they did, they would open up the autoclaved package before using them in front of you like most other salons do. What I witnessed- when she finished with me, she rinsed the metal tools with water, NO SOAP, and quickly moved on to use them to the next person, two seats down from mine. Her basket of the used emery board and other bacteria containing tools just went onto the next person. I wonder if they have or use an autoclave. WHAT WAS OKAY- the nail polishing was decent. The chairs are very nice. That being said, it doesn't make up for the unclean conditions and the lightening, haphazard service. I will not be back. read more

Horrible. My friends and I came here for our nails, HORRIBLE. Lady on seat #12 did mine, first of all, it was a horrible job. Nothing like the picture I showed her. Kept asking her to fix it, and she kept telling me "It beautiful".... 2 days later and I'm back here because one of my nails broke on it's own. Doing nothing. I'm convinced she doesn't really know what she's doing. I'm sorry to the workers who do well in here, but from me and my girlfriend's experience, we all didn't like how our nails turned out. It's like fast food for nails. They only care about taking as many clients as they can instead of delivering a quality experience. My person actually totally forgot about me after my pedicure was complete. They never came back to cash me out as I waited almost 10 mins in the chair. I finally walked up to the counter to pay and no one else would do it for him. They also don't clean their tools between clients so you'll have someone else's toe crust touching your skin. I also think it's completely unprofessional to speak another language to co workers while you are working with customers. I'd give zero stars if it let me. read more

+1 Star is purely for customer service from nail techs. -4 Stars because this place is absolutely UNSANITARY ! Beware they DO NOT use NEW nail files, buffers and pumice on their clients. They reuse them and these items are unable to be sanitized because they are porous. You can clearly seen how worn down the pumice are which is totally unsafe because they contain germs and bacteria. Also I don't see them sanitize the jet attachment for the pedicure bowl, they could sanitize it but like I said I didn't see so be cautious of that. Same with their tools, nail clippers etc are just pulled from their caddy and I've never see them go into a sanitizer or come out of one. Finally cheese graters, everyone has callus but to offer a cheese grater is not only illegal but very dangerous for the client. Every tech has a cheese grater and will use it if you don't tell them no. read more

My husband and I went in for pedicures. They were super busy (20+ total chairs/stations) but were able to get us in right away. They have lots of polish to choose from, in front of the salon and back of the salon...didn't notice the back polish selection until I was already in the pedicure chair. Our $30 (each) pedicures turned into $135 (total) because my husband needed the deluxe pedicure plus $10 callus add on. I got the $60 service because it had been 7 months since my last pedicure. Overall our service was good. Staff was friendly. NOTE: They do run each transaction separate if you have more than one person providing you with services...(had to pay separate for myself & hubby). They do not have a place on the receipt to add a tip...so either pay with a credit card or/debit card or cash. Overall it was a good visit for us and will return again. read more

I went in today for a service at 11am for a gel pedi. I was greeted immediately and sat at chair #11. The technician prompted to ask me which color and pedicure service that I would like. All was well until the service started. The lady did not massage my feet only my legs, she left mask and scrub on my legs and she did not dry my right clear polish. Let me preface, customers pay extra for gel polish as well. When drying, she was so focused on cleaning the bowl as she proceeded to spray the bowl with disinfectant and refill the bowl with the green plastic for the next customer. When departing after my service, my shoes were wet from her cleaning and spraying the bowl. I had to clean my own shoes off while she was standing at the counter to receive my payment and had to ask the technician next to me for a towel to wash off my legs from the remaining mask and scrub. Moving forward, I would NOT recommend this nail salon. BUI808 has the best prices, service and quality in town. This was not worth $65 which also doesn't align with their prices stated. My toe nail length are all different, I have some straight edges and some round. I have long nail beds, it looks like I have numbs. You can reference the photo how low she cut my nails. If the owner sees this, I would personally like to be contacted for this to be corrected in a new service. read more

My pedicure felt super rushed! Even when making a decision on which option to choose, apparently I didn't make a decision quick enough for her liking. I feel that option to have time to choose is important because of the price difference between the different options! The one I usually get is $40-$45. The other option is $65! We went with the pricier option for my pedicure because I work on my feet and hot stone massages excite me! Well after 2 swipes with the stone and a crappy job at the other extras, she was done... They did work hard on the upsell which is fine if you are getting the services from the more expensive option! I was supposed to get a manicure also but since the pedicure was rushed and I was already disappointed, I didn't wanna spend anymore time, money or energy there. First off, they are fast and clearly don't take their time which was plus because I had a lot of things to do afterward. Second, desks and pedicure chairs are packed in there like sardines and they don't clean the chair between use. They make it look like it with plastic bags in the pedicure tubs, but they don't spray or wipe down the seats. Third, they don't have you wash your hands prior to or during services. Forth, masks are optional in there. All staff were wearing masks, but they weren't on appropriately all the time. Clients were not all wearing masks. Fifth, they had a lot more male clients in there which is nice because men should get pampered too. Lastly, my nail tech but a pretty good job considering she was watching something on her phone. Suggestion: Staff should clean clients seats, desks, and spray things down instead of sitting around doing nothing. I understand you want to talk story, but not in front other clients.
