Recently I had a dental emergency where a large filling broke in my back molars. It was placed there decades ago, and it was far too large for a simple cavity. So when it broke, the pain was so immense that it was crippling. I needed help as fast as possible. We found this office from online reviews and just vibing it out. This entire workgroup accommodated me incredibly fast, and with a definite sense of humane urgency. They worked with their associated office True Dental Specialties in Monrovia. Together they all completely relieved my symptoms with two endodontic surgeries, and two more procedures at this office to completely cure the issue. In the end they created a seamless tooth repair and crown. They all work with extreme compassion, kindness, professionalism, patience, and legitimate expertise in all of their various roles. After my rather intense issue was caringly solved, they went to bat for me and made my insurance company cover items that they were trying to get out of. They got a lot of money back for me. Just simply because that's what caliber of good humans they are. I just moved to the area so I wanted to find a new local dentistry to take care of my teeth cleanings, x-rays, or if I ever had any dental concerns. Little did I know, I found my forever-dentistry! The staff here are so friendly, everyone from the receptionist Anna Marie, to my RDA Melanie, and Doctor Kuo. I had a new patient visit and had great instruction to arrive 15 minutes earlier to fill out forms, and was taken in for my appointment immediately afterwards. Yes, they are just that efficient! No waiting at all. I was overdue for my annual dental visit so I asked for a full examination and a routine dental cleaning to remove plaque, tartar, and stains. My RDA, Melanie, did all my x-rays and even did this cool 3d teeth model of all of my teeth! I was WOWed! Dr. Kuo did my full teeth cleaning and talked to me about my concerns, and she was very thorough in her recommendations and explanations, which I appreciated a lot! Those offices always felt chaotic: 40 people in the waiting room, rushed appointments, and poor customer service. So, I decided to upgrade my insurance to a DPO plan and try something better. I visited this office on November 11 last year to have two minor fillings done--nothing urgent. Before proceeding, I specifically asked about the cost and was told $85.60. I paid in full at the time of service. Three months later, I received an unexpected bill for an additional $72. When I called for clarification, they claimed my insurance hadn't covered as much as expected. However, verifying coverage should be their responsibility, not mine. When I pointed this out, they rudely responded that since I had signed their paperwork, they had the right to charge me whatever they wanted. Frustrated, I paid the balance and immediately canceled all future appointments. Be warned: they do not properly verify insurance coverage, and you may end up with surprise charges later! read more
