Wonderful staff! I called in 8/23 looking for a specific shoes that I saw online. (They didn't have it) It put a slight sad in my day but the lovely gentleman (did not specify pronouns. I'm sorry!) suggested I get them sent to post office after mexplaining how hood my area is and package WILL be stolen. Unfortunately...The post office is also trash so I decided to head in store. Everyone was super nice and understood my frustration. They helped me choose a color I'd like and also gave input on me customizing them. They were all so nice and supportive instead of trying to upsell me something else. We love a support team! I ended up buying 2 pairs and messing with one. Thanks for being amazing!

I bought a pair of boots from them a week ago. The right boot is defective making them unwearable. When I tried to exchange them or find out my option the manager told me "We can't help you without the box". She never once offered an alternative option. Just go F yourself. Sorry, I don't have the space in my NYC apartment to keep boxes piled up in the corner. This was the worst customer service I ever received. I worked in retail for 10 years, you just swap the defective product out and put them in the new box. She was a lazy rude piece of trash, I will never shop at Dr. Martens again. Total waste of $150. F her and F Dr Martens.

My youngest son has been itching to swing by this store since he got a Christmas Visa card. I've always considered this brand as a youthful. When I see guys wearing large, chunky Dr. Martens boots I think of Dr. Frank-N-Furter from The Rocky Horror Picture Show singing: I'm just a sweet transvestite... From Transexual, Transylvania.. I'm a guy from Long Island! L.L. Bean Suede Bucks is what I gravitate to and I had no plans to make a purchase. Walking inside the store, the displays are showing the fashionable and functional footwear. My son is looking at the boots and I'm in the back of the store looking at shoes. A salesperson comes over to me and we start talking about the brand. Factory worker and postal workers started wearing the brand, it was part of a uniform. Then, the rockers and grunge folks adopted the brand and elevated Dr. Martens to a cult following. The boots are a little too much for me but the shoes? They're starting to win me over. I try on a pair of shoes, they are comfortable as hell! I'm told they don't have a typical leather sole but a patented technique that allows a more comfortable experience. I try on the shoe, it looks good with my jeans. Subtile and yet age appropriate, the players will know I have on Dr. Martens. For everyone else, I'm a guy from Long Island wearing casual shoes with a cool looking stitch. I tell the salesperson I'm wearing them out of the store! She starts buffing them with a special Dr. Martens ball that I also picked up. Dr. Martens Union Square, I'm impressed with the store, the sales process and the brand.

An iconic brand of footwear that stands the test of time. Great little store located in Union Square. We dropped in here while shopping at the winter holiday market to look around, and ended up purchasing two pairs of boots. On the shelves were the bad-ass originals to the current day trendy colors and styles. It's not just a guy's brand as we saw just as many items for the ladies. In fact, there were many more gals in here shopping for footwear that night. Well laid out, organized, and clean store. Accessories too. Terrific staff that was attentive, helped out, and made some nice suggestions on what foot gear to try on. What is cool about this brand is the lifetime guarantee. If their boots or shoes wear out they will repair or replace them - simple as that. They even offer vegan friendly footwear too if that's your thing.

I stopped at the Union Square Dr. Martens because I was in desperate need of a new pair of boots. I've wanted to get Doc Martens for a while, but long story short, the ones I have (which were hand me downs) never fit right, and I needed some help finding the correct fit and style so they wouldn't hurt my ankle. Earlier in the day, I stopped at the location on Lexington Ave, and left because the person who helped me clearly didn't want to. This was not the case at this location--they were pretty busy, and I got help right away! Ollim was very nice and gave me helpful advice on choosing the right boot. We found the right fit and style together within 15 minutes, and I walked out with my new pair with the insoles already in them! I also got the Wonderbalm, because he mentioned you could use it for other leather products (I have some loafers that, while I don't wear them a lot in winter, I want to make sure they're protected from a random rain storm). Stopping here was a great end to my day! Thanks Ollim! I may not rush back, but I'll definitely recommend this location to my friends looking for some new styles

My Docs! BUSTED at the seam!!!

I've been wearing Docs for 20+ years. I exclusively wear Docs (or converse in the summer). I take great care of mine and I have multiple pairs I switch up. I bought a pair two years ago, and just recently the back heel split at the seam. I've never seen anything like this before in a pair of docs. I brought them to the Union Square store. I was greeted twice coming in and then I approached the counter. I told them my story and they asked if I condition my boots. I confirmed I bought conditioner at that very location. Jackie (aka a modern hero) then asked me what size I wear and exchanged my Docs for a new pair: ON THE SPOT! She took my old Docs, apologized that I'd have to break in my new ones, but said she'd never seen Docs split and didn't think it was representative of the brand standard. She happily exchanged them, took my beautifully worn Docs, and handed me a brand spanking new pair. I may have floated out of the store because I was on cloud nine. I get compliments on my Docs ALL the time. I always tell people how I've worn them for 20+ years and how great they are aesthetically and quality wise. But NOW I will be regaling EVERYONE with the AMAZING customer service story from this past week. I've already told about a dozen people about my boot story, and I'll be telling this story for the rest of my life. Dr. Martens is a great brand, made great not just by their quality footwear, but the kind of quality customer service talent they have at their stores. THANK YOU JACKIE!!

Docs have been a staple since the 80s, and the biggest problem I have with them is they won't die. Seriously, these things last forever and it is the last remaining leather that i own. Nice to see they have vegan friendly boots, too bad they don't go up to size 12 for me. This store is nice, clerks were helpful even in the super packed state it was in when I stopped in. Hopefully I can get those vegan cherry brogues one day ..

Best customer service in all of New York!!!! Elvis and Carson were so kind and made my experience so comfortable, I had to buy! Often, sale representatives treat me as unwanted guest in this area. Carson and Elvis made me feel right at home. Absolutely loved em!

Note that I've previously stepped inside the shop to survey the selection, and last night I stopped in for what was only supposed to be a quick moment... The owner greeted me and almost immediately started talking prices. This is $20 dollars and we have that for $25 dollars, but this is a little more expensive, and that's this price. Oh, that fascinator is beautiful on you and you can put it layaway. It was just $79 dollars, mind you. Excuse me? It's such a turn-off when people see brown skin and assume that the purchase would be unaffordable without a payment plan! Not to mention, I started off by noting that I was only taking a quick peek on my way to pick up my Nordstrom purchase. Though I promptly told her that I don't need layaway and I pay for things outright, I had already decided that I wouldn't be buying from there. Her fixation on talking to me about price was all I needed to hear. Nothing disgusts me more than when people make assumptions! I have beautiful vintage hats in my collection, fine jewelry and quality costume jewelry, and beautiful bags that I've purchased abroad. She could've had a repeat customer who prioritizes quality goods and, more importantly, quality service.

My order arrived with missing items despite paying oversized shipping and waiting days for delivery. Since then, I've been stuck in an endless cycle of apologies with almost no action. After nearly a week of emailing back and forth, I was asked to provide my order details again. Why? The entire email trail already contains everything they need. Instead of reviewing the case history, each representative seems to start from scratch, wasting the customer's time because they can't be bothered to read their own correspondence. Muji has mastered the art of apologizing without actually resolving anything. Every response is filled with sympathy and promises to "look into it," yet there is no urgency whatsoever to fix a mistake that was entirely their responsibility. Once they have your money, you're left waiting while your case sits in limbo. For a company that promotes quality and simplicity, their customer service is anything but. Poor communication, zero ownership, endless delays, and customers forced to repeatedly chase for updates. Paying extra for oversized shipping clearly doesn't translate to better service when something goes wrong. If you're lucky enough to receive your order intact, you'll probably have a good experience. But if there's a problem, don't expect Muji to treat it like a priority. Based on my experience, their customer service is all apologies and no accountability.
