I LOVE Amber! She is the best! I was referred to her a few years ago by one of my clients a that is a charge nurse and she was spot on with her recommendation. I have been getting Botox for 10+years and Amber has been the best! 1) Amber takes the time to explain exactly what she is going to do and what muscles etc. 2) Less is more attitude, which is amazing as sometimes you don't need more so it's best to start with less and increase if needed. The first time there is a consultation fee BUT it is applied towards your service if you get service at the time of the consultation. The front desk fails to translate this to clients and it gets frustrating as they don't understand why they need to pay an additional $100 on top of the service. If it was explained that it will be applied towards the service it would avoid unnecessary frustration for the client and the staff. read more

Came here to be given Phentermine (appetite suppressant) for weight loss. I was 142 lbs with a bmi of 25.5. You don't need an appointment, you can walk in but there will be a wait. A nurse, not a doctor, (forgot her name but she was African American) saw me and prescribed me 37.5 mg Phentermine for the first month. It cost $195 out of pocket for this first month (includes exam, urine test, consultation), future months are $90.This is without the vitamin B shots. With the shots, it's even more expensive. Keep in mind if you have a prescription from a doctor, you can get these pills at Costco for $30 (the doctor has to have license to prescribe Phentermine). You go in after the first week so they can monitor your weight loss and see if your blood pressure is within normal limits. If you are good, you get the next 3 weeks of pills at the same time. Then you go in at the end of the month to get your next months worth of pills. Dont expect to lose weight consistently every month. Because your appetite is suppressed, you end up eating so few calories that your metabolism slows down and you hit a plateau. This happened to me. I lost 10 lbs in the first 3 weeks and didn't lose a pound for the next 4 weeks even with eating less than a 1000 calories and walking 10000 steps and weight lifting 15 min almost every day. I read online that a better way to do this is to do a half pill twice a week and eat 500-1000 calories during those days and the other days, eat your regular calorie requirement per your weight. This prevents your metabolism from slowing down and makes the pill more effective. The nurse didn't tell me any of this. She told me to instead do the keto diet for the first 2 weeks (which is controversial- some doctors think it's unsafe to combine keto diet with Phentermine). Now I don't know if my initial 10 lbs weight loss was due to the keto diet or the Phentermine! (Keep in mind, being on keto also suppresses your appetite!) The nurse also told me to avoid alcohol because it is a stimulant (it's actually a depressant). Yes of course you should avoid alcohol but the reasoning is not correct. You should avoid alcohol because it can increase chances of heart issues or mental issues. When I went back after a month, since I had dropped 10 lbs, my bmi was 24 which is within normal limits so they told me I wouldn't get any more pills, and to just finish up the ones I have (1 month supply). I told them I had hit a plateau and ild like to continue getting the pills until I hit my goal weight of 110 lbs but they refused. So essentially I paid $300 for 10lbs of weight loss, which is ridiculous. I could have just done the keto diet and lost 10 lbs in 1 month on my own. Now coming to cost. Compare this to Doc's Diet in Turlock (a bit far away but much much cheaper.. I think around $120 first visit and $60 every month after that including vitamin B shots). If you are considering Phentermine, use it only to kick start to weight loss journey and maybe to sustain it by taking a half pill once a week to keep your stomach small. Use only half pills of you are a short gal, you probably don't need the whole pill. If you use the whole pills, your body just gets used to the high dosage and probably stops becoming effective faster. I decided to continue eating healthy (1200 calories) and exercising and now I am 120 lbs. 10 more to go! And I will continue maintenance for the rest of my life.. it feels good to be skinny!! :) read more

A few mos later, I returned to the SJ ofc and saw Amber, FNP, on a Sunday. She spent a while explaining to me the differences btwn the fillers that are available and Botox. She's very patient and if I didn't understand she would repeat it. She works in the Redwood City office, so I have now started going to RC to see her when I want to look pretty! I went here for my immigration medical exam with a civil surgeon, and was overall very happy! It's a tough choice finding a place for this as all doctors seem to have many different reviews (good and bad) + it's hard to know how much is a reasonable amount to pay for this medical exam. I called ahead, they gave me a quote of $380 as the maximum amount i'd have to pay, and this was if I needed to get lots of vaccinations. This was one of the best prices I found. I could get an appointment in the next couple of days- not long to wait. On the day I brought all my medical history printed out- it took the nurse a long time to go through it all, but she was very thorough and I appreciated that! In the end I needed two vaccinations, a blood test and the TD skin test. They were quick, pretty painless and lovely about it all. Then the Doctor came in and did the rest of the exam (asking questions and the basic checks) and was also quick, lovely and explained everything well. I had to come back two days later to have the TD skin test checked (if it's positive you have a chest x-ray which might add extra cost, I didn't need it so i'm not sure about that). They got my paperwork ready for me in 15 mins and I was all done. Final cost for me was $280, so I was really happy with that! They said if there was any problems with the paperwork to get in touch. Amber & Veronica have been fantastic..... I had problems with my weight all my life....constantly gaining and losing.... I started about a year ago with Amber and had great success in the beginning ; but then after a while i started to gain weight again... we tried everything we could, but after awhile the pills become less effective... I am now over 340lb, and pre-diabetic and things not looking to good. Amber still didn't give up... she helped me take it to next level. She advised me to go see my main doctor and get information for the gastric bypass at Stanford University; that was covered on my insurance that i didnt even know. Now i am scheduled for surgery this summer...its a lot work and a big decision. I really appreciate her support. Their prices are VERY reasonable and I have never been pressured to purchase any services I did not want. They always worked with me and I was able to pay what I could, when I could.
