I've been debating writing this review for a while. Over the past couple of years, I've had very positive experiences receiving vitamin shots from Cathy, which is why I decided to come here for Botox for the first time. At 29, I chose to get a small, preventative treatment of 12 units in my 11s. They weren't bad but I did notice some small fine lines and texture appearing. Before my appointment, I did quite a bit of research and came across the possibility of a "spock brow" occurring if the rest of the forehead isn't treated. I brought up this concern during my appointment, since we weren't treating other areas, and was reassured that everyone is different and that it would be an easy fix if it did happen. Unfortunately, I did experience a subtle spock brow, with my right eyebrow lifting slightly higher than the left. I scheduled a follow-up appointment, where I saw the owner. She added 2 units only to the right side of my forehead. I remember feeling like something wasn't right about only treating one side, and my intuition was telling me the same, but I trusted her expertise. I was also charged for the additional Botox to correct the issue, which didn't sit right with me. About a week later, once everything had settled, I noticed the opposite problem. My right brow now appeared droopy while my left was more mobile. When I raised my eyebrows, they looked uneven, with the left side lifting higher than the right. I was honestly so upset and frustrated at this point, so I booked a second follow up to have Botox added to the other side to even it out. During that visit, I saw Eliana. She was kind, but I felt dismissed when it was suggested that my brows may have been asymmetrical to begin with, which was not the case. She even said my right brow (which was now droopy!) was higher due to my brow shape. I even have before photos showing my natural brow symmetry prior to any Botox. She added 1 unit to the left side in an attempt to balance things out, but unfortunately, it didn't make a difference at all. I can't blame Eliana, but rather that the owner put way too much on just one side and made me asymetrical. Rather than going back and 4th time and messing my face up even more, I've decided to wait it out until the Botox wears off. I've uploaded a video of me raising my eyebrows for context. The right brow barely moves at all and the left one goes up and out. This does not look normal. I also want to mention that I had booked a consultation over email at the end of 2025 and was not told there would be a $150 fee. While I take responsibility for not reading the fine print, I was not clearly informed of the cost beforehand. Because of this, I felt pressured to move forward with a service a couple months later just to apply that $150 I spent at the consultation. This has been a really upsetting experience, and I'm now left with uneven brows that I'll have to wait months for the Botox to wear off and be normal again. I truly regret this experience and wish I hadn't gotten Botox done here. It was a waste of money and I feel self conscious every time I have to raise my eyebrows now. I really didn't want to leave a negative review, as I've loved this space for the vitamin shots and everyone has always been so nice when I've come in, however, I feel it's important to share my experience and warn others. In hindsight, it also concerns me that there are no visible before and after photos from the business. I've asked about this in the past and they said they don't do them due to "privacy issues". read more

I went to the iv bar for Botox. I usually went to Kathy wright, but she was booked. I was then referred to Laura Carlos and scheduled a Botox appointment with her. She was very nice and I remembered her from my gym. Like I said.. she was extremely nice...BUT.... A BIG BUT... She messed up my face. She wrecked my mouth and smile. Totally botched. She put way too much Botox in my face. She was the professional, and I listened to her recommendations, and I trusted her. I called her after I noticed that I could not even smile. She said that she didn't put that much in my chin and it should dissipate in a couple weeks. My smile was messed up for over two months. And to be honest, my whole face looked completely frozen. Not good frozen... Freak frozen.... My husband and I still laughed at this day about my experience. But at the time it was not funny. And thank God Botox wears off. I was absolutely delighted when I strolled down Laurel St. and stumbled on this gem. I'd been getting IV shots from an RN friend of mine for years, prior, but once she moved to another state, I was looking for a place just like SC IV Bar! Even better, it's within close proximity to home! They offer various services here, but I have only tried their IV cocktails and shots offered since January 2023. Lauren and staff are a very friendly, pleasant team to see each month. I recently met Kathy who is also a great addition and has given me my IV cocktails also. I started out with the Vitamin IV treatment for new patients in January. Then I had an Immunity Boosting treatment before my vacation in Asia. During these periods, the weather was cloudy and there wasn't much sun. I added Vitamin D shots to each session. The next two sessions, I tried the Meyer's Cocktail and the Fountain of Youth with a shot of Glutathione for extra antioxidants. These IV sessions can get quite pricey , but you can get a deal buying three IV sessions at once and getting the extra shot for $50 complimentary. I love this place and have added it to my regular routine of maintaining my health, wellness and beauty. read more

I started looking for an IV Bar as our COVID-19 cases started to rise. I found this place in San Carlos. Nurse Lauren was very responsive and very professional, yet very gentle and warm at the same time. I texted her and we settle my appointment and what I wanted to try via text. When I arrived at the place, I ended up parking in the back. Upon entering her office, you see this very organize and super clean office. Very comforting and calming considering you will be facing needles. She patiently explained the difference options and we discussed based on my needs. I felt energetic and ready for travel after a couple of sessions. I'll be back for my maintenance IVs. I am now hooked on my IV hydration. I get the Myer's cocktail with an extra boost of glutathione for my skin. read more

Best IV bar in the area. I love how all the staff are responsive, helpful and accommodating. I go for monthly Fountain of Youth IV. It really helps me sleep better and be more energetic. FSA card is acceptable here. No fee for parking and I always get a spot whenever I visit here. read more

The worst place to go..all the staff are very very unprofessional and do not care at all, I am asian and being discriminated in this place, denying me of my medical records and falsely giving wrong information when I found another place to get treament. Staff are friendly, professional and do not up sell any treatments. Prices are reasonable especially compared to a couple other SF peninsula places. I've done Botox, IV vitamin shots, Moxi BBL and fillers. They always seem to do just the right amount for it to work and still look natural. This review was overdue and incredibly deserving. I came to San Carlos IV bar via referral from my close friend. Lauren is a wizard! I came to her because I've been getting injections for years and I wasn't thrilled with my results and longevity at my last two appointments with a previous injector. I expressed my issues and what I was looking for and Lauren was incredibly knowledgeable, honest and understood where I was coming from and what my goals were. She suggested me dysport since I am consistent with Botox and when I say it kicked in the next day for me...!!! 10/10. No bruising, no crazy brow lift, I feel youthful and frozen as I'd like to be ;) I'm sticking to dysport and I'm sticking with Lauren. I saw Laura for a series of 3 BBL lasers on my face, neck, and chest. My main concerns were redness and some sun spots. I'm so pleased with my results, I rarely get compliments on my skin but since seeing Laura ive been getting complimented weekly! My skin looks so much healthier, brighter and overall more even.
