SNUG is a charming and lively pub that much lives up to its reputation for being well, snug! We…read moredon't mind because everyone was in good cheer and we got to enjoy live Irish music. The potato leek hand pie was delicious and so were the Che Chori veggie Shepard's Pie Empanadas. We of course had to try as many of the Irish specialty drinks including the SNUG Butter Beer with SHANKEYS WHIP, Ginger Beer and Vanilla Cream. We had never tried Shankey's before but immediately picked up a bottle at Total Wine with If you LOVE Ginger Beer definitely try the Irish Mule S9. We also enjoyed the BELFAST COFFEE made with Pangur Potin, Shuv Cold Brew, Simple, Vanilla Cream and Cardamon. Snug Whiskey Fest is coming! May 15-17, 2026. Exclusive Tastings, TWO Brand Expo events, Festival Bottle Releases. Snug Whiskey Fest is Brand Storytelling, One Drop at a Time.

Popped into Snug to grab a cheeky drink before dinner. Snug is the perfect place to pop into and…read morefind a drink -- the door is open. (Literally. They had the door open, which was letting in the fresh almost-spring air.) Drinks are pretty much all they have at Snug, to be honest. Don't visit thinking you're going to find a meal, because they don't have a lot of food beyond locally made hand pies and empanadas, a grazing board, and something called Snug Nuts. (Which brings to mind certain ... images.) I didn't get any food, just a Road & Coke, which is a whiskey with a Coke and lime, similar to a Cuba libre, although a Cuba uses rum. It was delicious, but a little light on the booze. It was only $5 and change, though, so it's kind of like what do you expect, really. It was a nice drink to sip slowly while I sat in the small, cozy bar. Speaking of bar aesthetics: Snug lives up to its name. It's tiny and dark but inviting. It feels like stepping into a hug. A hug that can also provide you with copious amounts of Irish whiskey, which sounds like the best kind of hug, to me.

The bar felt like a fun neighborhood bar with everyone knowing each other. Today at lunch, the crowd was mostly older, 55+, with younger patrons entering ( around 2:00 p.m.) as we dined. As you enter, you walk directly in front of the bar. A half-wall separates the bar from the 2 - and 4-top tables plus high-tops. The game area is in the back of the bar with pool tables, dart boards, and a jukebox with all tall-top tables or standing bar ledges in the back. The menu offers the standard pub options with a nice selection of appetizers, burgers, tenderloins, sandwiches, salads, and dinner options. Today's lunch special was a chicken fettuccine ($10.99) or shrimp Fettuccine ($1 upcharge for shrimp) served with garlic toast. The Shrimp and Broccoli Fettuccine was a large serving and very tasty, but I had to take most of it home. The bartender/server could not have been nicer, super efficient, and made me feel very welcome. She covered the entire restaurant and didn't miss a beat. I definitely would stop back in when I'm in the area. It's fun to be in a neighborhood bar where friends hang out together.

Everyone we encountered was awesome. The drinks were excellent. We didn't eat, but the food looked so good that we both wished we'd eaten here instead of Livery earlier. The comedy itself was a bit hit or miss, but we're in Indy for a while as healthcare travelers and will definitely be back--for the drinks and the great people.

I've helped a little bit with a few of their events, but I'm just some concerned queer who got livid when he heard about this, and I thought that implying I'm with a group would make my words carry more weight. Stupid, and I make exactly one apology: for lying about my affiliation, I'm sorry. The organization has also asked me not to abut Shelby Street Tavern's reply to my review on Google, and I have grudgingly agreed. However, the post stays. I will notate my deception, and will also remove the needlessly rude section at the end, but the rest stands. ORIGINAL POST, EDITED AS EXPLAINED ABOVE: This is honestly a great bar, mostly, hence the 5-stars for Food, Service, and Atmosphere. I was initially glad my organization [NOTE: THIS IS A LIE, SEE ABOVE] chose to patronize this place. But that appreciation ended last night when bar management decided that keeping things quiet was more important than dealing with an assault and battery that happened at the bar. If the genders and races in the situation had been reversed, my friend would still be in jail right now, while the harasser in this situation got to finish out their night feeling good about getting away with what they've done. Someone reserving your bar for an event does not magically get the right to assault and batter someone. Never mind that the person doing the A&B has a history of harassing the person they chased out of the bar... [NOTE: FINAL PARAGRAPH REMOVED FOR BEING UNNECESSARILY RUDE]
