I'm not sure what's going on with this place but I've been very specific about my orders lately. They certainly deliver quickly but they can't get it right I wanted everything extra spicy, which was also supposed to be spicy, but I have found it to be bland. And tasteless when I called the manager The blame was passed onto the driver who supposedly packed the order, which I doubt.! I always tip generously to the drivers knowing it's not their fault and they do get it there quickly but the last orders I've gotten have not been right and I have been ordering from them for years. I wasn't going to write a review, but there's a customer in here throwing a temper tantrum trying to get free food and claiming he's gonna write terrible reviews and call the health department because "he has friends there", so I felt compelled to defend this place. The prices are average. The food is great. I had literally no problems apart from the customer acting a fool in the dining room and treating the staff like crap. They handled it well and stayed very calm despite his rage. I would support them again just for not allowing his fit to affect them. Plus the food is good and the portions are large. They have a seating area also, so it's not just takeout. I had the chicken veggie dinner special with mixed soup (egg drop and wonton), white rice, and an egg roll. If I could give zero stars I would. We always loved this place but it has slowly been in a decline with incorrect orders. We have said we were going to give it another try because we love the food. Today was the straw that broke the camels back. We ordered our usual orders and when the food arrived, one meal was missing. The driver told us the orders are taken at a central "call center" so when we finally got to speak with someone from the store they said they were going to charge us another delivery fee. My coworker explained that we already received our incomplete order and paid the delivery fee and we should not have to pay for another delivery fee. That's bad business. We have never complained about a delivery fee before as we understand gas prices, etc., but to be charged twice for a mistake that was clearly on them is not acceptable. We will happily bring our business elsewhere. read more

So, this is a common occurrence as you can see from the other 1 star reviews. They will mess up your order, give you less or the wrong items, charge you for it, HANG UP ON YOU 5+ TIMES, tell you that you didn't order it, and then, for us, they got another customer involved and had some random man on the phone that didn't work there yelling at us when all we wanted was our order fixed, nothing more. No reason to do ALL of this and act like children, involve other customers, cause crazy drama, and ruin someone's night and food. Congrats, really great business model model. Hope they're proud. Ah, Chen's. You're a jewel of downtown. There aren't many places worth the stop for fast-food Chinese in the area. This place has consistency, I'll give it that. Really competitive budget Chinese dining option and the food is pretty good. They have a recently renewed dining area which is just right for a quick bite. The counter staff is friendly and the orders match what we ask for. I'm pleased to say Chen's will continue to be the one of the better convenience options in the area. read more

I had the best sweet in sour chicken. It was absolutely the best I've had in years. The chicken was soft and soooo tasty. The breading was the perfect amount. It gave the chicken a spectacular little crunch. The order comes with white rice and thankly i order extra rice to have with the leftover chicken. The rice was cooked to perfection. But tonight, I ordered from the undisputed best Chinese Spot I've ate from here in Fort Lauderdale. Chen's Garden has a Family Pack for $35.00 and gives you A LOT of food. Nothing greasy at all. Great Fried Rice, great eggroll, and Fried Chicken Wings. I've found my regular takeout on a Friday night. I have been ordering food from Chen's for as long as they have been at this location. They have gotten me through several hurricanes when power was out as they use gas. The food is very good consistent. The staff is very nice. They have some table for eating in. I usually pick up or have it delivered. This is mostly a take-out/delivery Chinese place, but we came in for the dine-in experience, since it was the only non-pizza place within walking distance of our hotel. We both got dinner combinations, and there was a lot of food for the money - good sized entrees, rice, egg roll, and soup for two for about $20. Egg roll, rice, little crispy wonton chips rounded out the meal. At the time of night that we went, we were the only dine-in customers, while a string of people came in to pick up take out orders. Staff stayed busy the whole time. While the dining area is not too fancy, the tables and chairs were nicer than at most quick-serve places. (I wouldn't say that this place is quick serve - not slow, but since they cook to order, we waited a little bit). You know a place is serving Americanized chinese food when some of their combination plates come with the option of french fries or pork fried rice. but the food was delicious and the portions were large. we ended up bringing back leftovers! they accept all credit cards, have their own parking lot, and are open till 10:30 on weeknights. read more

Very disappointed with the food of which I ordered quite a lot these were the worst. The Singapore Noodles was not made fresh it tasted as though it had been made the day before for a cancelled order. The seafood combo is a mixture of seafood and vegetables in a white sauce with a half of a lobster tail which had obviously been frozen for too long and was way past using so the smell and taste was affected by it. The vegetable spring roll had more cabbage than any other vegetable so when the cabbage deflates you're left with a big hole in the middle and the wontons barely had meat....and on and on. I will definitely order from this place again. Decent Chinese food at good prices with an easy to use online ordering system. Who wouldn't love it? We got some of the standards (BBQ spare ribs, lo mein, fried rice and a couple of combo meals). The ordering system made it really easy to choose how much we wanted, multiple quantities and which discount we wanted based on the order size. I read all these reviews and thank goodness I have never had an issue with these people. The food is great and the service is normal for any Chinese place. People do realize that there is a huge language barrier and what to us sounds like an attitude, to them it's just way of talking. Real quick. The review about the roach is yes that was horrible they should have checked thoroughly but let's honest it's florida and there is not one restaurant from fine dining to a neighborhood diner that does not have roaches or rats.
