Pretty good little brewery! The inside was oddly industrial, but the beers were all good and the bartenders were all friendly. There is no food served here, but you can bring your own in. I've visited all of the craft breweries in Tucson several times and most of the breweries in the state of AZ, and I can say with confidence that Dragoon is the best. They have a great selection of beers, oftentimes with a bent toward Belgians and stronger beers, and their recently renovated taproom is amazing. The only downside is that it's in a stripmall a little bit away from downtown, but don't let the exterior fool you. Most nights there is a food cart outside where you can get some good food, but overall the beer is the main highlight here. read more

This is the place to go in Tucson if you are looking to find complex local beer. They have a ton on barrel aged beer, sours, porters, stouts..... you get my drift. It is in the back of a warehouse district and the sign if really hard to see from the road so just trust the directions on your phone and you will be able to find it. My favorite brewery in town by FAR! I have been in love with Dragoon for years and while their IPA may garner all the awards and attention their Session is my favorite. Not to say I don't love their IPA because it is delicious but the Session is a treat whenever we can find it. A few weeks ago we finally made it in to their brewery and it is great!! I can't compare it to what it used to be like but this change seems to be very welcome. We had a tour and were able to sample a variety of new options we hadn't even heard of before. From the minute we stepped in to the moment we left we were treated so nicely by everyone we came in contact with. And that customer service extends to delivery drivers, management etc. They really have the whole thing down. Way to go Dragoon! read more

Rich and flavorful beers! After a long day out in the National Park, Dragoon's IPA really hit the spot. You need to consider that Dragoon is without many bells and whistles, meaning that they seem to be relatively new and thus are focused on brewing great bear and do not have a large sitting area or any of their own food. That being said, it's well worth a trip just to try some of the selections. read more

In a world where micro breweries seem to pop up all the time and everywhere, I believe Dragoon is one that is doing it perfectly. They only have a tap room, open Sunday through Wednesday, their tap list is extensive, 10 to 15 taps I believe, and, most importantly, their beers are excellent. My favorites are the IPA, of course, and their Scout Porter. Recently, I had a Saison that was phenomenal on a very hot Tucson summer day. They do not serve food, but often have food trucks outside. read more

They have some pretty nice beers here and most importantly they let you try the different types. They accept major credit cards. But they are kind of out in the boonies, there is nothing fun near them. So you can't walk there and home or to any clubs/bars/events. read more

It wasn't too busy when we were there at almost close on a Sunday, but love how spacious it is because I'm sure it is normally a lot busier. This was my first time in Tucson and decided to check out brewery since it received good reviews. Stopped in shortly after opening time. I got the Rye lander, which was a very good IPA. Not overly hoppy and was smooth. Cousin got a barrel aged Russian imperial stout. Also was a very good beer. The vibe of the brewery was a little dull, but possibly due to it being early and midweek. Overall would drink the beer again, however would not go back to the brewery. read more

Best craft beer in Tucson, and possibly the state of Arizona as well. If these guys bottled, they could stand toe to toe with craft beer powerhouses like Green Flash and Stone. The IPA is a personal favorite, but I've never had another beer from then that was anything short of excellent. The brewery itself also usually has a great food truck out back (keep an eye out for Twisted Tandoor and Zany Beaver, those two are my favorites)! Highly recommended! read more

There is a reason that Dragoon is getting so much recognition - they make GREAT beer. You cannot go wrong with any beer on the menu, but I would recommend that you order the IPA at least once - it's incredible. The atmosphere is comfortable and clean. The staff is very friendly & fun, and they always fill your pint to the top instead of leaving that one or two inches of foam that we all hate. What's not to like about this place, especially after the expansion. I liked it before, but it could get a bit crowed. So, decided to stop by recently, after I heard about the fixens. Best brewery in AZ, hands down. Honestly, they are one of the best in the Southwest region, and I've been up and down both coasts as well as inland. Some of the best assortments of barrel aged beers I've encountered. The people are AWESOME, specially Stout. He took me on a tour of the brewery and clearly didn't need to do that. I've only had their IPA from a growler, but it is really something special. As an avid IPA fan, I have no qualms saying that Dragoon's is one of the best I've had. Ever. Tucson has a striking number of breweries, but Dragoon is the only one I consider major league. As everyone notes, their IPA is the star. It's the best I've had anywhere, and I'm not an IPA fan. It tastes even better at the source than at the taps about town. The other beers are also excellent. They have a better knack for mixing flavors. They always have some experiments going on , and not all of them work. The thing that distinguishes Dragoon for me compared to the numerous other local breweries is that their beers always taste fresh and alive, I am struck how often beer tastes flat in this town. Do keep in mind this is a brewery, so you won't have a romantic atmosphere, you'll be under fluorescent lights, with only a food truck for grub. It's hidden away in the middle of nowhere. Don't just memorize the address or you won't find it, just take the small road next to Arby's round back. read more

This is a nice brewery experience. My history with Dragoon is having it on tap in Scottsdale. Happened to get here right when they opened on this fine Saturday afternoon and Stout took good care of me. I was able to sample all the current beers. I will state up from that I'm a hop-forward guy. That being said, every one of the 7 beers currently on tap were nice. The one that I stuck with was the Unihopper, brewed with the E05256 experimental hops. A fruity note, strawberry to me, but a fine hop finish. No sweetness in the taste. The Ryelander with its "225" IBU was a good beer, but too much alcohol to make it generally drinkable. I liked the Alt Pueblo, an alt bier. The one I liked least was the Half Moon, but only because I'm not into the general Dunkel thing... The people behind the bar are knowledgeable, the locals are interesting and obviously beer-wise, and the location is just as I'd hoped it would be. read more

Wow! The beer here is incredible. While walking in I felt like I was in tap room heaven. There is so much space that no matter where you sit it feels very private. The beer is great! And the names and descriptions are even better. The bar staff is very open to answering any questions you may have and have great recommendations based on personal tastes. Not only is the beer good, but it's definitely affordable. It ranges pretty standard in brewery prices, but their flights are where the bargains are. If you're not ready to commit to a full pint glass, the 5 oz and 10 oz are a great value. Although it's off the beaten track, it's a very popular place and while it may look pretty quiet on the outside, there's always a healthy crowd. read more

Best Beer in the West? Nay, Best Beer in all the United States says I. I am a huge fan of these magical brews that fortify the soul and enliven the spirit. The Seasonal Saison Blue is unbelievable and my personal favorite. I wish it was part of the permanent rotation. The Session is a unique rich malty pint of happiness.
