I had every homeowners nightmare, broken sewer pipes that needed to be replaced! Thankfully, I had a service warranty on my sewer pipes and they sent out Drain Medic and I could not be more pleased with their work. From the get-go, they were polite, professional and always on time. The work was pretty extensive, but they always kept me informed of what they were going to do and when they would have it done. Miles, the supervisor on the job, along with his crew of Chris and Manny were a pleasure to work with they really seemed to care about doing the best possible job and were extremely friendly and funny guys. If I could give zero stars I would. They came out 5 times within 4 months and kept making up excuses on why it wasn't fixed. Please don't use them. They will do the bare minimum and set themselves up to make more money off of you with the next time. Traumatic. Once another plumber came in they fixed it immediately. Do not give your hard earned money to this company. STAY AWAY. They only care about making money and do not care about people. They were hired to work on the apartment below mine. They were doing EXTREMELY loud non-emergency work until 3:00 AM in the morning even after repeated requests from both me and the property manager for them to stop. This is despite it being illegal to do noisy construction after 7:00 PM. It was not until the police showed up that they finally left. After this they still had to return the next day to finish their work. I called their office to voice my complaint and Linda told me: What's done is done and there's is nothing she can do about it now. As for why her guys worked until 3:00 AM and until police told them to leave, she said it was because they wanted to finish... That is an absurd excuse for breaking the law and working that late. This shows a complete failure in company leadership. Their disregard for me and my family shows how little they care. My wife and I had to go to work the next day on 2 hours of sleep because of this. I work in a high risk enviroment so it is extremely unsafe to work on such little sleep. SO PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUISNESS. I would give them one star if I would. These guys are not competent in their job. We had a water leak from the bathtub in my rental, HoA called Drain Medic on my behalf. Shortly after they finished the work, the leak started again.  With no more trust in Drain Medic, the tenant called his own plumber to diagnose the problem.  His plumbing company told me that Drain Medic mis-diagnosed the problem, they only fixed part of the leak, but not all.  Because of the nature of urgency, we had the new plumbing company fixed the issue.  Due to the lack of competency of Drain Medic, I am now stuck with two bills addressing exactly the same issue.  When communicating to Drain Medic, they refused to take any responsibility for their lack of competency. read more

Excellent work for a badly stuffed up drain going out to our alley--- well before they arrived NOT GOING TO ALLEY!! Tristan was a very nice young man who used one snake machine but after not clearing, switched to another one with larger diameter snake. The clogging was pretty far out to the alley but finally broke through. He shared with me what actually clogged the water (bad roots). After he was completely finished, he offered to clean up some water on the deck, but I told him it was no problem and I would do it. The plumber was fine. Drain Medic's office is a disaster, wasted so much of my time, and billed me eight times what the repair actually cost. They scheduled the repair for a Friday from 10-12. Apparently the appointment had not been transferred to the "active" appointment board and did not get made, at least that is the excuse provided by the office. Finally turned up at 3pm and it turns out the office had not confirmed the water shutoff with the building though the appointment had been requested 2 days before, so the work could not be done. Had to then reschedule for Tuesday. Tuesday comes, and they bill me (for a $495 stem replacement) - wait for it - $3,390.75. I call and ask what is going on and apparently Maria, the accountant, accidentally wrote in the sales tax field $2,895.75 (making the total, plus the actual $495 they were supposed to bill) $3,390.75. I have had to follow up with my credit card issuer who says the refund is still pending. ZERO apologies for all the hassle and time wasted on my part - so many phone calls to follow up on appointments (they promise to call to confirm, but never do), one entire Friday spent waiting for their appointment, and finally the credit card fiasco. I am still out the $495 AND the $3,390.75 (total almost $4,000) while I wait for the refund to post, it's been 5 days now. Their plumbers may be fine but their office is awful. I would never voluntarily hire them, and was only forced to because the HOA works with them. Just godawful. Do not use. Many other great companies around. read more

I've had Drain Medic work on several plumbing matters over the last two years, including pinpointing/repairing an underground water service pipe leak and replacing leaky valves. They were initially dispatched by a service warranty firm, and have done such good plumbing work that I have used them for non-insured jobs. They were able to efficiently coordinate with a leak detection company, their own technicians, and a concrete repair contractor to accurately diagnose and repair an external underground leak. Drain Medic has generally been responsive and easy to work with, including technicians who explain things well and an office that keeps you posted on appointment status, etc. Lately, however, their office seems to have gotten overwhelmed or preoccupied, with no notification of a several-hour delay that resulted in a recent appointment window being missed, for example. read more

I recently had a main water line leak and had excellent service from Drain Medic at all levels of their organization. The were easy to reach and kept me informed at all times. They coordinated well with the insurance company and that meant I didn't have to deal with that organization. Martin in particular was especially conscientious, helpful, and responsive. I could tell he really wanted to help me through this difficult situation and was doing all he could to make it as easy as possible for me. Also the women who answered the phones when I called were excellent--if they didn't have an answer for me, they said so and that they would get the answer and they did. Some couldn't even be bothered to return my calls and others were at least polite enough to tell me they weren't interested. I believe Drain Medic is primarily in business to SCAM and cheat THE PUBLIC, especially older seniors who may not know how to spot a scam... or realize when someone is completely UNQUALIFIED. Beware of fake, non-licensed workers (acting like real plumbers driving a plumbers truck). I believe Drain Medic is a dishonest and HIGHLY UNETHICAL company (my opinion). If you look like an easy "mark" (ie. a frail, older senior), they will likely try to take advantage of you. . . And then, attempt to gouge you with outrageously unfair pricing (and for work they may have never done, or passed-off to another company (or sub-contractor). . . SENIORS BEWARE !!! Also, beware of very devious/fraudulent email billing scams (wire fraud). If you do get scammed (billed for work that was never done, by someone you never hired), file a complaint with the CSLB, and contact the DA's office. I left off in my last review, that once again these people were up here trying my patience. making a lot of noise, laughing in the parking lot... one of the guys kept jumping up and down the stairway the whole place shook...and guess what? Still no hot water....!!! I don't know if I mentioned is this in my prior review, but they removed my nice faucet and replaced it with another faucet which was cheaper. Reviewing Yelp, this company has a load of "one star" bad reviews. They really need to clean up their act. Now I speak on behalf of myself, and not any other person, persons or entities. I would not recommend this company! I hired Drain Medic to perform an assessment only on a garage leak which they said would be free. I never authorized or signed anything to perform any work and a month later I received an invoice of $189 and would be sent to collections if i did not pay for this invoice. I contacted Maria telling her I was told that the assessment would be free and that I didn't authorize any work and her response was that she did not work there at the time I had these conversations and that she would talk to her supervisor. After following up several time I've finally received an answer that I still need to pay. This is poor customer service and a scam! read more

Although the gentleman was polite and delt with my disappointment with poise, I don't recommend using his services. He told me that my toilets weren't leaking so I called a leak detector. The leak detector charged me $350 to tell me that both toilets were leaking. Whoever says you have to pay more for experience was not referring to plumbers. !:-) No. My hole was not stinky (not this time) ... though it did need snaking! I know. I know... "JöHnNy, didn't you just call them less than a year ago to deal with your stinky hole?" Yes, this is true.... I live in a 100yr old craftsman home. My holes bound to be stinky, or corroded... it's OLD! http://www.drainmedic.com/ This time it wasn't an issue to fix indoors or under the house... something was happening outdoors.... where the septic drain empties to the main sewage... outside.. waaaaay outside. Something about an obstruction.... Not that my hole seemed obstructed in any way. I called Drain Medic Rx Plumbing.... they gave me an hour range to arrive the following morning... sometime between 9am and 10am. And that's when they arrived--ON TIME as SCHEDULED! The drain medic came fully equipped. In moments he pulled out his coil, used his snake in my hole and got as far as 60ft! Now THAT's a LONG TOOL! He said he found some sort of obstruction waaaay back in the yard towards the main sewage. The job could be big (he gave me the max) or small (he gave me the min)... But he said it was mostly labor intensive (I'll bet.) He was VERY thorough and conscientious of time and budget, and though he couldn't finger it out at the moment, he said he'd come back in the morning. I wanted to pay him for coming out today, but he said to hold off until he could put his finger on my issue. He said he'd give me the option of doing all the work.. or allow him. I do not recommend this company!!!!! Took over 8 months and over 10 appointments to fix my running toilet (they were hired by my landlord, or I wouldn't have continued to work with them). Wasted hours and hours of my time not completing the work. Missed a scheduled appointment, 3 hours wasted. I was repeatedly told there was no problem, even though I showed them videos of my running toilet, and my water meter was moving when no one was home. I was inappropriately asked by one of the plumbers who lived in the house with me. They bought the wrong parts for the repairs and didn't return phone calls. Please go with a more reputable company.
