my first experience was positive but they seem to have hired an incompetent numskull to work their phones / text service which is an incredibly bad decision. i have called over and over again to clarify the job i need done (it's three different small plumbing issues so i wanted to make sure the plumber was prepared for three different things). Since then, the phone idiot appears to be recognizing my phone # on his caller id and sending me to voicemail - which is incredibly rude. it's more like the behavior of a moody teenager than a professional business. No one has called me back. No one there is answering (my calls at least). Someone sent a text about a Tuesday appointment then, after I asked for a call back, nothing. I called again. Voicemail. I texted again and they said I was "overcomplicating things" (??) and that my appointment is Thursday. Which I said: "why did it change from Tuesday to Thursday." To which this person accused me of not being able to read my own texts and claimed I changed it because I was getting a delivery on Thursday. WTF? At that point, I asked to talk to someone else at the company or else I will cancel my appointment. The phone numskull said: "I will cancel your appointment." WOW. read more

This 5 star review is specifically for the plumber who came and helped us with our situation, which was just a simple kitchen faucet replacement. After getting several quotes from other plumbers, ALL of whom bloated the price by trying to add an additional & totally unneeded repair (and one who also wanted to charge over $600 for the job! Are you kidding me?! Looking straight at ya, company that starts with a Tar- and ends with a -pee). So we went with Troy Plumbing who gave me a fair price quote online here on Yelp. When the plumber Rafael came out, he was honest and friendly, confirmed that nothing else was needed and he got started right away. He did a superb job, very efficient, cleaned up after he was done, and we are very happy with the install! Much like how a good honest auto mechanic is hard to find, it's the same with plumbers. When you find a great one, you hold on to them for a long as you can. As long as Raphael is there with Troy Plumbing, I'll go to them every time! Now, as far as their person who does the scheduling/appointments there, James...he caused a lot of undue stress on the day of the appointment and was very unprofessional. I sincerely hope I don't have to deal with him again, but I won't hold that against this company nor will I let that affect my score because Rafael was just that fantastic! read more

We needed a simple cartridge replacement for two showers, which they did but left two different issues unresolved, one for each shower knob. We paid $1300 for the two cartridge replacements combined (and they would not show me the receipts for what they claimed to be $300 per cartridge). They insisted that it was due to the entire valve being old and needed replacing, which would be an additional $950 each (near $500-600 for other plumbers). It turned out to be extremely easy issues to fix that they just would not come take a second look at (they did some someone out for a separate issue and did not charge us, but they also confirmed that these issues were not fixable). One issue was as simple as screwing in the main screw on the knob a little tighter and adding some lube (the knob was turning infinitely in one direction), and another issue was that the shower temperature knob just needed to be taken out, turned a little to the left, and placed back in (it was not getting hot until maxing out at 115 degrees, just a matter of the printed numbers on the knob not lining up). We had to pay another $300 to hire another plumber to identify these fixes, and we stood by and I even applied the lube spray myself. Extremely easy fixes but they were just not willing to double check their work and pushing for $950 per shower for valve replacements. Very frustrating to talk to James, as he insisted they did "everything they could", and that "they went above and beyond". Half assed work, overpriced, and squeezing us for more. They hire plumbers, so there is an up-charge to everything, emphasizing to me how much they have to pay for plumbers driving their 14mpg vans and therefore how "little they make". You're better off hiring an actual plumber who charges their own fees, no extra margins added. read more

Found them on Yelp after another company did not show up to clear my drain and made me waste a full day just sitting at home waiting for them. My experience with Troy Plumbing was the complete opposite. They scheduled my service quickly, they gave me a realistic estimate and they actually showed up when they said they would. Once there, they looked at the issue, but also at the possible cause of it. The fixed the problem quickly and gave me some recommendations on what to do to prevent it from happening again. I had a huge sink backup and all the plumbers in the area were passing on the job but Rafa from Troys showed up with a smile on his face and eager to get the job done. I definitely wish I had just called these guys in the first place! They were very quick to respond via yelp or phone and both Rafa and the worker bees back at the office were very respectful and helpful, their prices are also very reasonable. I had a bathroom back up situation in one of the units that I manage and Thomas came out to handle the situation same day! He kept me updated throughout the whole process which was much appreciated. He snaked the line initially but was unable to clear the clog fully due to the angle of the pipes and where the clog was sitting. He returned the next day, just as he said he would to clear up the situation. He had to cut into the wall of the bedroom to access the piping. He was very thorough and professional. I had a superb experience with this company. I had a huge and time sensitive project; pipes broke under my house, and I was sitting on a pool of water and sewage. Not only did I not have the use of my facilities, but the smell made staying at home unbearable. Richard and Rafael came out promptly and identified the problem. The solution was to pretty much replace most of the pipes under the house (I had other companies come out for quotes, so the assessment was confirmed). Repairs were going to be costly, but they worked with me to get the price down whenever possible. As far as work, both gentlemen were extremely professional, friendly and accommodating. Fixing the problem was difficult (i have a narrow crawl space under the house, so most of the repairs had to be done while crawling around on their stomachs). They finished repairs in under three days; and given the size of the project, this was a very fast turnaround. James was my phone contact, and he also did a great job communicating with me, figuring out the least painful price, even helping me navigate the insurance process. read more

I ended up being charged less than 50 percent in comparison to other estimates that responded slower than this company. I am extremely happy with the work / service. Had a bad experience. Fixing appointment was a bit easier. The plumber showed up at 1pm. (Appointment was between 12noon to 3pm). Then was reluctant to do the job. He "went to get his tools from truck". But was on a call with someone till 2:45pm. After I put pressure he came in. Was ready to find some issue of everything. this was a scheduling and communication nightmare. The plumber said he'd come between 12 and 3PM. My wife stayed home and waited and waited. At 3:40 she texted them to see what was happening. The plumber responded that he had an emergency repair. He could reschedule. When I asked why he wouldn't let her know at least around 3PM that he was running late, he wrote me that he did text her to let her know. But he did not. Not only that, he became hostile and wrote me that if were to write a negative review and he'd lose any customers as a result of my review, he would take me to court. I never had any contractor ignore me way past the scheduled window and they would always at least say sorry if they were to miss the appointment. And I never have been threatened by a law suit should I use yelp what it's for. Scary times... regarding the plumber's response, the facts: - "The next day you finally responded and wanted immediate service" No we did not. Absolutely not true. - "We told her we were running late due to an emergency." No, there is 0 evidence of this, no text or phone call whatsoever, other than the response to her text at 3:40PM - "ignored our initial email to confirm scheduling" No, I did not ignore anything, I got back to them as soon as I knew my schedule - "We also made every effort to communicate with you and your wife" I am not sure what effort they think they made but they sure did not do 0 until my wife texted them. -" You threatened to write a Yelp review on lies" No, I did not. I never said anything about lying, on lies, etc. It's the FACTS, the texts, the calls. - "you did write a Yelp review on lies" Everything I wrote adheres to the facts 100%, as they happened. Facts are stubborn, and 98% of the communication between us in writing. - "You are very rude." I was not rude in my communication despite all the verbal abuse and threats I received. Troy sent me an estimate of work for shower tub and vanity install. After installing tub, they stopped work and tried to increase prices. They charged me for more work than they did. I already paid them. I have been calling for a receipt and no response. They also put non-stainless steel screws in the tub and I had to get them replaced. I could have had rust stains. I tried to contact them but they've not responded on multiple attempts. Initially, the workers were nice and claimed they could do it all but then they would say it's up to "the boss". I ended up spending double to get plumbing done bc I had to go through two plumbers to finish a job. I will be reporting them as I never received an invoice and completed work. read more

We were quoted $90 for a same day appointment. We were told that the plumber would come between 1 and 4. We received a text that stated the plumber would be coming at 2:30pm 2:30 came and went, no plumber, no call. When we reached out at 4:00pm texting back we did not receive a response until 5:40pm informing us the plumber who was supposed to come was not responding, which I understand is not their fault, they proceeded to send someone out. He showed up around 6:30pm. We did receive a discount which is nice, but the technician did not have the right equipment to do the diagnosis needed. Instead he dug a whole in my yard told my fiancé h would talk to his boss and get back to us the next day. The next day came and went. I sent an email and still haven't received a response. As I wanted written documentation at this point. Mean while we were gathering quotes to get someone to come out again since the first attempt was not helpful. Troy plumbing had the nerve to respond to the quote request stating they could send someone out same day for $70. Nice consistency guys. Overall super disappointing especially since we had another company come out that fixed it in an hour, and by the way that was a same day appointment as well. Of course it was two days after our initial attempt since Troy plumbing didn't pull through even though we gave them the benefit of the doubt to call as promised. Biggest waste of $75. I was incredibly impressed by Troy Plumbing. My original request was for them to assess the bathtub drain due to sluggishness, but I decided I also wanted them to check out my other drains for slight sluggishness (not completely clogged). Their quoted timeframe was that they would show up between 2pm-5pm. They texted me that they were on their way around 1pm, so I went to my leasing office around 1:15pm to grab them a parking permit. I found out they had already gotten there, requested a parking permit themselves, and were planning on just waiting until 2pm; they just wanted time to make sure they were in the right place, since I live in a very large apartment complex. They didn't expect me to be available until 2pm, but I waved them in. They assessed my garbage disposal, bathroom sink, and bathtub drain. Offered to fix the breaker on the garbage disposal for free since it would take only a few min, and quoted me $125 for clearing the bathroom sink and bathtub drain. Extremely transparent pricing. They even taught me how to clear the bathroom sink in the future if I wanted to do it myself, since usually stuff just gets stuck at the top and doesn't require a snake. In the end, they saw that the garbage disposal actually was getting very corroded and will require eventual replacement. They gave me the pricing if my landlord ends up deciding to replace it, but also offered some tactics to avoid clogging it more if my landlord opts not to replace (avoid grease, run hot water once a week, use the other sink that doesn't have the garbage disposal). Super professional, in and out in by a little over an hour. They were super nice and polite, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I would not hesitate to recommend them and will be calling them for any future plumbing needs. read more
