Lived in Lexington, where the original Drake's is, before moving to Bristol. In comparison to the service and food quality of Lexington, this one is awful. Servers are slow, constantly mess up orders, and know nothing about the beers on draft. The food takes forever, often comes out lukewarm or cold, and is not up to the standards of BHG. We gave it multiple tries since its opened, hoping it would get better. But it hasn't. Very disappointing. read more

Not bad sushi for the area, we always go for sushi rolls and beer. Tried to call because we had a bigger party and they don't take reservations, I asked to put our name on the list and was told there is no list. What they mean is there is no hostess. I literally stood next to a family eating at a large booth, if all the tables are full that's how you get a table. That would be the only thing I would change, put a podium at the front door and make a waitress keep a list. read more

Not a good experience! We did carryout. Was 8 minutes after estimated time. The dumplings were cold and hard. The yellow tail was bad. Then I let them know by text that the order was subpar. The manager calls me and proceeds to call me rude and that she wont be having people leaving bad reviews . It's her job to find out about reviews . I tell her what is wrong and she starts to argue with me.I think I know what is wrong with my food. I would avoid carry out from this place. They do not care what they give you. The sushi here is excellent, and I have yet to have bad service. I actually like being able to seat myself. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to be noticed, but everything is great once we are. I like that they have monthly specials on sushi and sandwiches/burgers. My boyfriend and I just shared an autumn roll a couple of nights ago and it was so unique and tasted amazing. The menu is a tad limited, but the service and certain items are outstanding. Luckily on my first visit, even though it was packed (as it will be on the weekends), I sat at the bar and saw a friendly face. Matt, my friend and bartender, highly suggested the sushi combo. The Midori roll and nigiri were much better than restaurants I've visited downtown. If you're looking for excellent sushi, service but a loud environment and can't make it to exit 7, then this should be your go-to. This is definitely my favorite spot to eat and drink after shopping at the Pinnacle. The music may be loud, but they always have attentive servers and sports on the multiple TVs. read more

The ordering process on the app was terrible, we tried multiple times and it wouldn't let us submit the order stating we needed to the car type and color which we had filled out. We were finally able to place the order online through the website. Once we arrived the curbside pickup process was very easy and the person who brought our order out was very friendly. My sister and I were traveling through Tennessee to Northern Virginia this week and happened to stumble upon Drake's. Although the temperature outside was freezing, the greeting from the staff was warm and welcoming. I ordered one of their signature burgers, which was perfectly cooked and piled high with toasted onions, a bourbon BBQ sauce and a mountain of gooey cheese. My sister had the Cobb Salad and found the greens garden fresh and chocked with assorted vegetables and topped with an amazing vinaigrette dressing. Big shout out to our amazing server Brian, who gave us a warm greeting, guided us through the menu and made sure we had a relaxing dining experience. read more

I wanted to really like Drake's seeing as how a friend of mine always raved about their food. I got a cheeseburger and I wasn't really impressed. The fries were not that great either. My friend got sushi and she said that it was just very bland. The service was mediocre... she forgot my friends soup she ordered. I went again with two girl friends on a Wednesday night at 8pm, which was much of a slower day and time than our hugely disappointing first experience. We sat ourselves near the main bar, our server was super adorable and charming but it took us veeeery long to get drinks or food. We were supposed to go watch a movie at 9:40pm next door but our second round alcoholic beverages took more than 20 minutes from ordering and the food arrived maybe around 9:15pm. If I rember correctly, we did stall to order upon arrival and didn't order food until 8:30. So we agreed to catch the movie some other time and stayed, got many more drinks afterwards, but we had to wait quite long to get new rounds. The keylime martini was delicious, my perfect manhattan (missing sweet vermouth) came wrong on the other hand. Our server was always present but the bartenders were often missing behind the bar -- while we waited for the drinks. Perhaps they were working on the inventories? Overall we left with happy faces and full tummies but this second visit still left a lot of room for improvement. read more

Not a big fan, it's a seat your self atmosphere and that's not easy with a family of 5. Small parties seem to sit at all the bigger tables making it harder for bigger parties to find tables. I had a burger and it wasn't very good. I've heard the sushi isn't bad but try it at your own risk. This wouldn't be a bad place to watch a game but for a place for a family with hungry kids and comfortable seating, it didn't work for us. read more

Well have to say I'm trying this place for a second time. First time the bartenders didn't have any situational awareness now I'm here and there is a line out the door and no one even states anything that there is a wait or try to facilitate any help. The entrance is the same as the exit so it's a cluster! The wait was so irritating because of NO information and NOT A person in line new what to do...We sit down finally to order a drink. I ask what flavored vodka do you have & they don't know. Let's hope the rest of this is better. I like the atmosphere but I'm not sure how many people you annoy for the non attentive hostess. Went with a party of 10 on opening night, they took great care of us. Our server, Mollie was great at keeping our drinks filled and made sure our food was right and perfect. This is our second time visiting. Loved it the first time, and love it more now. Absolutely great customer service. First, the food is great, and the portions are generous. I really like the atmosphere: indoors, but it has that outside vibe with the doors open. The music is good, and there are numerous TVs with a variety of shows. Back to the customer service. The food is great, but my husband decided to order a BLT salad which he didn't like. I thought it was good, but I am a salad eater. The waitress noticed that he wasn't eating, and she asked him if there was something wrong. He said, I just don't like it. She asked what he would rather have and voila he got a burger and tots in minutes. He was satisfied and happy. He's a burger person so I don't know why he thought he would eat a salad as a meal. The mistake was his, but they made it better for him. The manager came over and apologized, and my husband assured him that it wasn't the food, just a bad choice. They really work to make the customer happy. Our go to appetizer is the BLT tots. I have tried the Korean BBQ chicken on flat bread, the crab Rangoon sushi, the crunchy munchy sushi (spicy); all of which are excellent. My husband has eaten burgers both times. I highly recommend this place; however, it has been quite crowded both times we've been there. Expect a wait if you get there during prime time. read more

Stopped in to Drake's Restaurant (Bristol TN) recently on October 14, 2018. Our server, "Alexia" (sp?) was exceptional! As other reviewers have noted, Drake's is a seat-yourself restaurant and the 'connection' with a 'server' can get lost during busy hours. "Alexia" was the key to our enjoying this place! She's talented, efficient and genuinely concerned for the customer's enjoyment at Drake's Restaurant. The food is tasty. Seating can be uncomfortable, tightly-spaced and limited. It's a popular eatery on weekends, especially during (Tennessee) collegiate sports broadcasts! read more

The food is ok for bar food. I've had some hits and some misses when it comes to the menu. The biggest drawback to going here is the wait. If you don't go at the right time, you'll have to wait for a table, as it's a "seat yourself" restaurant, which can be frustrating when you've got a party of 4+ and some of the larger tables are taken by parties of 2. Also, some of the wait staff have to constantly be flagged down to place your order, get drunk refills, or get missing food that was ordered. Overall, it's just another chain restaurant with mediocre food. read more

Best bar and restaurant I found in the area. Stayed nearby on business trip and heard about this place. Burgers and Sushi, I know, sounds unusual but they pull it off well. First of all, it has an open air area pretty much all around with great views of the beautiful mountains. Atmosphere is fun and lively. Great bartenders, wait staff and managers. Tried a little of everything on the food menu and was not disspointed and Sushi was fresh. Cold beer of all kinds, with local brews included. Plenty of tv's and awesome music. Clientele was friendly, I felt right at home. Special thanks to Matt and Erika at the bar. They anticipated my needs and took care of me. Also has area with outdoor style games for the whole family. When I arrived I knew this experience was gonna be a good one, man was I ever let down. The waitlist system is one of which would be found in the 1950's. The hostess Walks around holding up fingers looking for that many people as the crowd stands in a monsoon of rain. Once gaining access into this establishment we were sat at the bar, where i was excited to see the craft beer selection. The craft beer & cider selection was awesome. So my lovely Girlfriend & I ordered a 60oz beer tower of my favorite local cider co. Gypsy Circus. Then we Ordered our entrees my lady being Gluten free was very limited on options (although all gluten free was listed) she ordered Sushi myself I ordered chicken tenders and waffle fries. Her sushi came almost immediately however my chicken tenders were a solid 20 Minuets after she got hers. This is a good restaurant if you can lower yourself to except subpar service and food delivery timing . I would eat here again with that being said. read more

This placed looks great from the outside, and even looks great walking in. Sitting down at the bar with a huge 4-way split screen in front of me, I'm thinking "cool sports bar." Unfortunately far from it. I was greeted by a bar tender who might as well have been Goober Pile. "Whatcha drankin?" This place is in Bristol, Tennessee. I was listening to the Lady Vols basketball game on the way in, and I noticed that the huge split screen had the UConn-Louisville lady's game on. I asked the bartender if he could change the channel. I told him playing the UConn game in these parts was close to sacrilege, trying to make a joke. He asked, "What channel is it on? I don't pay no tension to sports." Really??? I look around and realize that this place is as sterile an environment as could be, and I mean vibe-wise. I guess the saving grace is the fish tacos are pretty good. Looks aren't everything. We stopped in because the parking lot was full, so that should mean that the food is the best around. It was excellent, ice cold drinks, awesome food and the best service around. They were buzzing like a bee hive, we waited around 5 minutes for a table, ordered our drinks, and then our food. The food came out pipping hot, and the way we ordered it. We stayed after eating for another ice cold drink and the place was still packed. Reasonable prices for food and drinks. I recommend to stop in and try them for yourself. I can see why, no one ever bothered to help us, so after 10 min or so of waiting while they only helped the other side of the bar we decided to leave. Told the manager about it on the way out since he sent us there and his response was "thanks for letting me know".
