Throughout the past years I've had multiple vehicles repaired here and since I naturally have trust issues of coarse I've gone to surrounding collisions in the area and around Michigan for estimates on each repair I've needed and every single time drakes always has a $200+ cheaper estimate than anyone else without even mentioning to them that I've taken it elsewhere, I've never had to pay more than their estimate quote, love their honestly and how helpful they are, all the repairs look as if nothing even happened, they aren't open on the weekends which is maybe the one flaw they have but I'd rather pocket that few extra hundred & not being able to pickup my car on a Saturday-Sunday...highly recommend this place to all my friends and family & you reading the review! So happy to hear this criminal enterprise was being investigated by the Attorney General's Office. Their fraudulent claims go beyond just towing. And yes, the reason I had my car brought there was due to the tow truck driver recommending it. From my experience fraudulent activities are systemic throughout this operation. The owner Art is a piece of work. Everything he said to me regarding the timing of my repair and the condition of my vehicle was a lie. The vehicle was dropped off in May and wasn't finished until September. Six times I was told the vehicle was ready, six times I showed up to find it wasn't. The repair itself was sub par. The paint on the quarter panel didn't really match, the bumper fascia was crooked so the tailgate scraped against the bumper etc. AVOID THIS PLACE! read more

I recently had substantial accident damage to my new Lincoln Aviator repaired at Drake's Collision and Detailing. I can sum up the entire experience in one word: FANTASTIC. The vehicle was picked up the day after my initial contact. Paperwork was immediately processed and the hunt for all the needed parts was started. I would like to contrast this with the estimate I received from a local Lincoln dealer that "We'll pick up your car in 2 weeks and start the repairs in about 1 1/2 months.". Throughout my entire experience with Drake's, I was extremely impressed and very pleased. The loaner vehicle was a newer Edge that I felt very comfortable driving. I received frequent communications regarding the status of my Aviator from Jackie, who truly did a fantastic job on all the actions and paperwork required for the insurance claim to fix my vehicle. The "moment of truth" came a few days ago when I was notified I could pick up my vehicle. I am very pleased to say that the repaired vehicle was, as mentioned above, FANTASTIC. Both driver side doors were heavily dented and the driver rear quarter panel was completely destroyed, exposing the many electronic components (including some damaged) that the vehicle contained. Looking at the repaired vehicle brought a giant smile to my face and my wife's. You would never believe it had been so damaged. Everything was repaired perfectly and, best of all, the "Ceramic Pearl Metallic" paint repair was a perfect match. In summary, I would highly recommend Drake's Collision, and if you are lucky you might also get Jackie to be your liaison. I am one extremely happy customer. read more

Car owners beware. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! This is NOT the kind of place you want your damaged vehicle towed to. This collision shop is nothing short of a TOTAL SCAM operation disguised as legitimate body shop. My son was involved in a collision on the freeway yesterday and the towing company the state police called towed my car to this God forsaken place. My son called me from there to ask me what I wanted to do and I said I wanted the dealer to repair my 2016 Chevy, not some arbitrary body shop. I asked what were the towing charges (barely 12 miles) and he said it was $485. WHAT??? I guess that is what it costs to have a car towed off the freeway. The collision shop paid the towing company supposedly, and when George Matick Chevrolet called to pick up the car, they were told that they needed a check for $1,225 to claim my car. Are you kidding me? For what? I immediately drove down to the collision shop and was met by a very hostile manager name Andre' who was condescending and rude--telling me that with less than 3 hours in their possession, they had list with a number of bogus charges: Admin Fee: $195; Lot fee: $250; Wrap fee: $75; (what the hell is a WRAP fee? They didn't wrap anything) Storage fee: $50; Towing: $654.75 (they paid $485). My son had seen and took a picture of the towing bill from Ross Towing Invoice 24411 and it was for $485.00 even. So not only did Ross overcharge for towing, but Drake's wanted to also pad that bill by $170 on top of the bogus charges. After arguing with the manager at Drake's, I finally said I want my car and that if this was the last collision shop on earth I wouldn't have it repaired there. His response: If I was the LAST CUSTOMER on earth he wouldn't want me. I gave him my credit card to charge me the absurd amount and he refused to charge it. He insisted he needed a check from he Insurance company. After arguing further, I asked if he would take a check from the dealer when they come pick it up. Initially they told the dealer they would need a check from them, but now they changed their mind. After I persisted that I wanted my car TODAY, he said only cash or a check from the insurance company would work. Clearly this establishment has a bad track record of scamming people which is why he wouldn't take my credit card for fear of the charge being disputed. Despite my fury, my insurance company (Progressive) agreed to overnight a check to them to quickly resolve the matter, but Drake's still wouldn't release the car till they had the check in hand. I finally asked the manager for the name of the owner of the shop. His response: I don't know his name. Thats when I realized exactly what I was dealing with. I responded that he was full of shit and walked out. I will be contacting the state attorney general and filing a consumer complaint against this establishment. Trust me folks, these people were kind and cordial till they realized they were not going to get my repair business, and then they turned on their customer for no reason. Granted they should be paid something reasonable for their time and efforts, but $700 for doing absolutely NOTHING? Give me a break! While I'll admit that I did raise my voice because I was upset, I was never disrespectful, foul-mouthed or belligerent despite my anger and fury with their bogus charges and refusal to accept payment so I could retrieve my vehicle. You would too when someone is scamming you for over $700 for doing nothing more but accepting a towed car in their yard for a maximum of 3 hours. Granted, the insurance company will ultimately pay these charges, I felt that it was my duty to stand up to these con artists. I think there is a way to upload pictures, and will show exactly what they charged. Today the dealer received the check and sent a tow truck to get the car without incident. They made a net profit of $740 for doing nothing more than being a 3-hour stopping ground for my damaged vehicle. read more

I should have paid attention to the bad review this place got. This place is not where you want to take your car if you expect to have it done right. For starters, they promised me a loaner car to draw me in, 1 week later they reneged on that. The fit and finish on my car is horrible, I have overspray on parts of the car that didn't require work. When I got my car back, it squeaked over every imperfection in the road and all I had to do was simply turn the steering wheel to hear a loud clunk. They replaced all my suspension parts with rusted used parts, my headlight collects water like a retaining pond and I'm absolutely certain that where my insurance quote called for new parts, they found used parts instead. Everytime I went back for them to fix an item, they purposely did something else just to see if I'd notice it (white overspray on my black car, windshield wipers out of alignment, etc, etc...) What ever you do, don't have the insurance check sent directly to them. Once they have that check, they don't give a damn about you or your vehicle. After $11,000 in repairs by them, I'm going to have replace my suspension $1,100 and a headlight $1,200 and I still have axle whine on the side they repaired. STAY AWAY - They are crooks !!! read more

My 2016 Toyota Camry went in to Drakes 11/14/18 and did not get it back until 2/ 2019. The car had a noise which brought me back to the shop 3 more times. The issue was unresolved and Toyota was taken to the dealership. Bent rim and rear wheel hub assembly was the diagnosis. The paint n finish repair was fine from the accident.
