Dream Big Construction was one of the places recommended to me by Dolan's for some problems we were having with a couple of doors, and I can't comment on their work (from other reviews, sounds like it's very good) but I can comment on their responsiveness, which I found wanting. After my initial inquiry, Dream Big Construction did leave a voice mail requesting that I email them with a description of what we needed done. But after I'd sent the email, and then followed up with another phone call a week later, nothing. And a couple weeks out ... still nothing. I guess they were too busy or didn't want to do our particular job, but the professional thing to do would have been to at least advise me they weren't available. Another company (also recommended by Dolan's) responded right away and did a great job for us--I should have called them sooner! read more

Travis and his team are A list. I've hired them for large full gut remodels and small quick fixes, every job with them is top quality and 100% no headaches. They are on time, hardworking, and true to their timeline and the budget. Never any nonsense about needing more money or more time or excuses why someone didn't come to work that day. Travis is able to answer dumb questions and takes the time to be transparent about the job, he is good with both, responding to texts and calling back. This company is by far the best general contractor I have ever met. I was honestly surprised by how immensely knowledgeable Travis is, especially about updating older homes. Not only was he timely, he worked efficiently, and was exceptionally friendly. He also saved us from an imminent electrical fire hazard, fixing some partially burnt wiring he found, plus alerted us to call PG&E about another large issue outside our house which we hadn't noticed. This is the second time we have had Travis and his team out to our townhouse. I can't say enough good things about Dream Big Construction. His team completed several projects at our townhouse that we needed before we could put our townhouse on the market (installed tile, laundry box, replaced the siding on our home which was damaged due to dry rot, fixed our balcony and several other items). He is extremely knowledgeable and takes time to explain every activity. There is no surprises with Travis as everything is very clearly laid out and the time each item will take. OK, as corny as it may be, Travis and company were a "Dream" to work with. Trustworthy, reliable, punctual, excellent craftsmanship. We were referred to DBC by our property management team (our property is a rental home). They had done work for other property owners, as well as personally. He offered up front that his costs are not the cheapest, yet definitely not outrageous. I am a firm believer in the, "You get what you pay for" adage. And that's exactly what we got. This morning as my wife was leaving to go to work at 6:30 she heard a whoosh and though that didn't sound right and maybe it is the heater. Turning the thermostat off she continued to hear the noise and after pulling up the floor cover in the closet she discovered there was a water pipe that was blowing out water. She called Travis who was able to break away from his schedule and he came over and replaced a very rusty water intake pipe! This is the second time he has come to the rescue with very short notice. The last time was a sprinkler pipe and he had to go from the street and the main intake to the house. Travis is a frequent flyer with construction projects at my house. He installed a earthquake safety gas cutoff when he moved my gas line. He installed a whole house fan. A couple of months ago he helped remodel my daughter's apartment - gas line, water lines, refrigerator icemaker, moving electrical, drywall, just about everything.
