Dream home construction was just a name for me before we started the project , we had no clue that we would end up building a long time relationship with the company and his owner Ben. I had met Gal for the estimate as it was the very first project of our life it had to be done the right way and Gal made us believe that he and his boss will take care of us. We were remodeling our kitchen it was quite dated , the project started out well David did a good job with demo and framing, then came the electricians Jorge, Edison, Alex, Erick, Dylan , the plumber Nahu the paint guys Victor and Calvin the tile expert Freddie and they all did everything to please us and keep us happy. On Time and On Budget: How often do you ever hear that in the construction business! Met with three different construction companies for a full, down to the studs remodel of a condo in downtown Bellevue. Ben was a delight to work with from the very start and exuded a sense of humble confidence, which made me want to work with him. We set up a potential start date about 3-4 months out due to the Pandemic. Fortunately, I knew exactly what I wanted done, so the design part was pretty quick and then it was getting the materials necessary. Ben was helpful in providing guidance, offering some options of sub contractors for flooring, cabinets, mirrors/shower doors etc. So getting people lined up was very easy thanks to Ben reaching out to them and creating the introductions. Communicated with Ben daily during the three month process and to everyone's surprise, it was exactly 90 days from start that 99% of the project was completed and move in time! Having said that it was chaotic at times because at times the pandemic created people shortage and at other times some of the project leads he had put on the project did not have enough experience. But in some respects that actually turned out to be helpful because they did not have their own baggage and so they were willing to take direction and get it done. Only parting comment I would have for anyone doing any remodelling or construction: You have to be patient and know that you will have to make compromises. Either there is a communication gap or some missteps will happen. If they are not major, then go with the flow and reduce the stress on the workers as well. Visit the site every day if you can, take coffee, donuts etc. for the workers. Talk to them and get to know them a bit. They will stay late if they have to and get the job done. At times I ordered lunch in for them so they did not have to leave for an hour or even brought in dinner if they were working beyond 6pm. As with anything, vulnerable requests go a long way versus making crazy demands. I'd work with Ben and his team again in a heartbeat! We recently had our bathroom remodel completed with dream home, I wanted to wait for a few months before posting this to make sure we don't have any issues over time with the work performed, our shower looks great and the epoxy grout we choose to go with definitely worth the extra dollar we spend on it (vs regular grout) This company is great to work with and provided us with a full daily schedule before our project started which give us confidence and minimize our question during the process, workers was friendly and on time and overall we are very happy! I contacted Ben to refresh my entrance, my stairs and the upstairs hall. We just bought this house and we hated the carpet in the stairs and the hall... We just had a Pinterest picture and got a specific requirement that the floor HAS to match perfectly the current one used in the dining room / kitchen. Ben is extremely energetic and friendly. We can see right away that he cares about the final result, and was suggesting us to paint the doors as well, to have a more consistent result (we didn't consider the doors initially, since we were focused on the floor). He ordered everything, and told us that he will wait at least two weeks for the hardwood to get to the right temperature, and be sure the installation is perfect before starting any job, which makes sense to me. The stairs were done in one day and a half by Stan the specialist. I was really impressed by the sense of tiny small details Stan had. He spent a huge amount of time on tiny small cut to be sure our weird first stairs got the absolute best result. The result is just simply perfect... Then David the carpenter went to fix the baseboard and we could see the same feeling about perfection and tiny cut, until everything is just perfect. Finally, the painter came and did not try to directly paint, put spent hours to put plastic everywhere to spray them. No brush, no trace! In this whole process Ben, regularly came to double-check everything and every single tiny details until it's perfect. We got some touch-up afterwards, until I don't see anything I could argue with. I highly recommend Ben, and see my stairs as the "initiation" test :). Will contact him definitely for more bathroom, or any work I need inside my house. read more
