Dreamer Ice Cream recently got a makeover/ upgraded equipment and now has even more options than they did before. Still wonderful service, house made waffle cones, samples, great ice cream and shakes and now so much more (check out the take out freezer for a rotating set of goodies). The shop itself is very clean and classic bubble gum blue, pink, and white. There are also soooo many options. They make the waffle bowls in-house and they pair well with whatever scoop you get. We found this quiet ice cream parlor in Tacoma about a 2min drive from the Kaiser hospital. It is locally owned and the owner of the shop served us this day. He was very friendly and accommodating to our flavor preferences. He mixed a few flavors to make our peach, strawberry, banana smoothie that was so refreshing. We also got a waffle cone with a scoop of rocky road and a cake cone with rocky road. The ice cream was creamy and had large slivers of almond rather than small chips. There were several small tables for seating on the inside. They are right off of Sprague Ave. located in the shopping center behind Walgreens. Generous portions, unfortunately, you probably don't want generous portions of it. I got the butter pecan (I'm not sure which brand it was), but it was not creamy, its icey, and not very flavorful. They make their own waffle cones so we upgraded for that, unfortunately they don't taste very good. I don't know if they taste good when they're fresh, But I feel like my son nailed the flavor profile when he said that it tasted rancid. Not something I wanted to eat. Which is sad because its usually my favorite part. I needed to review this place because all these reviews are good, and we went there based on that. So it was super disappointing. I want people to have a more realistic expectation. My son got mango pineapple, it tasted like old frozen syrup. My daughter got bubble gum and cotton candy. The bubble gum was really good, but the cotton candy was sweet frozen ice. $20+ for ice ice (no cream) that was all destined for the trash can. This place opened up near my house a couple months back and I've been dying to try it out. They seem to have next to zero online presence, and with few reviews anywhere I was a bit nervous to go. It's a little bit of a hole in the wall on the inside but man was the ice cream great. They have a good variety of flavors with both "fun" and "normal" flavors. I decided to go with peppermint because it's my all time favorite flavor and it's rare to come by it outside of December. Flavor was fantastic and the waffle cone was also nice and fresh.
