PERFECTLY MADE WAFFLES!!! Service was very busy going on a Sunday afternoon. We had to wait a few minutes for a table but once we were seated, we weren't forgotten. They checked in a good amount of times. The atmosphere doesn't give off old diner vibes but one that's bright, clean and cheerful. ALSO so thankful they were able to accommodate my son's allergies! They cooked his meal on a separate pan to avoid cross contamination. 10/10!

I have visited Waffle Stop a few times and I swear I thought I left a review but better now then never right? I can say without a doubt that Waffle Stop is a fantastic breakfast spot in Tacoma with a cozy and fun ambiance with the cutest cups and fun decor. That's why finding parking from their opening to closing hours can be pretty difficult as they are just that popular! They also have some of the best service in the city with everyone being professional and have such warm service. My boyfriend and I are suckers for their garlic parmesan waffle fries as well their herbed ranch, we get it literally every time we dine in. The waffles here are all good no matter which kind you get and there are so many different kinds. Their coffee and lemonades are great too, and they always have latte art on your coffee drinks which I love! I've only have had two minor complaints. One was finding an eggshell in my waffle when I brought home leftovers and I couldn't really do anything about that since I was at home. My other issue is that when you order online you get charged a bag fee even if you are ordering a drink and it took some time to get my drink. They were busy though so I wasn't upset as I get how hectic it is for everyone in the restaurant. I didn't receive a bag for my order so I just feel they should fix that in the system or offer the bag since I paid for it. Other than that, they are worth checking out! They also have a great rewards program and you can buy their amazing ranch to bring home or buy their cups!

OMG this was the most fun experience since I rode the Skydiver at the Carnival. Food was delicious. Saw a Kevin Spacey doppelgänger (Usual Suspects KS) and then there was Cole. He made the visit most memorable. Loved our server Christi too. Traveled all the way from Boston and would do it again.

Came here for brunch and this spot did not disappoint! I tried their waffle parm fries which was LOADED. I tried their strawberry banana Nutella waffle. It was so gooood. The texture of the waffle was crunch on the outside and just right in the inside. I will def be back here for more!

Food was delicious however I am only giving it 4 stars due to the fact that three of us ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken & Waffle and not a single one was spicy. They also stated that unless we wanted to wait 25 minutes 2 out of 3 of us would need to get the regular waffle (which tastes perfectly fine so it didn't impact my score). Either way, make reservations ahead of time if coming for brunch as it gets pretty busy.

The chicken on the Nashville hot chicken and waffles were out of this world good- the breading stayed on and the chicken was perfectly thin and moist. I'm mad that we didn't come sooner on our trip. The waffle was a little tough/over done BUT if you want a bangin waffle, get the buckwheat protein waffle - absolutely delicious and you are doing a good thing for your body! I don't know if they add anything to their OJ but it was nicely sweet so it paired well with the chicken. Also they do have regular or sugar free syrup as I'm not the biggest fan of hot honey.

    SOUTH OF THE BORDER SCRAMBLE
    Babette C.

Wafflestop is exactly that. A place to stop for waffles. I got the bacon avocado omelette which looked tiny on an almost empty plate because I opted out of toast and hash browns. Mom got the South of the Border which was a huge plate with all the fixings. I've been here before so I can vouch for the waffles, but couldn't try them this time. Too bad I've changed my ways because otherwise I'd smash that cookie butter chai latte. If you're keto or going low carb like me, skip the hash browns and potato and they'll throw in a strip of bacon. It looks pathetic compared to what you get if you take the hash brown and toast, but it's something? They need more low carb side options. I like how they go the opposite of diners like Dennys, who give you a small cup and it takes you awhile to get a refill, by giving you a big mug of coffee that you probably won't need refills. I didn't at least Weekdays are nice because I'm here at the crunching hour and it's busy, but there are plenty of tables. Forgot about it on weekends.

We love this place. Everything we have ordered has always been great, the staff are usually friendly, and overall the atmosphere is what you would expect from a breakfast place. We really enjoy the varieties of waffles and accompaniments. Their coffee is good, and they offer some great espresso options. As some other reviewers mention, there is often a long wait, but it's worth it!

Burnt bacon. I flipped over the waffle to show how overdone it is.
    Stephanie H.

This is the second time I've come here and been served okay food. The first time it was just bland. This time it was burned. I ordered the French toast combo waffle and I'm going to assume it needed to be a little more done than other waffles. I "upgraded" my bacon to maple glazed bacon and it came to me burnt. Not sure how they thought it was acceptable to serve over done food. I ordered the eggs over medium and they were UNDERdone to the point the whites were barely cooked. I don't think I'll be back.

    Hucky K.

Pros: nice selection of sweet and savory food for breakfast, brunch, and lunch, good waffle and I love the maple glazed bacon, the restaurant is located in a cute neighborhood Cons: very sugary, not the most healthy food you can choose to fuel your body. Waiting staff is inconsistent. Some are helpful and nice, but a some are the opposite.

Fun little place right in the heart of the Procter district. We went during the week about 10:30 so were seated immediately although there were a good number of people eating. Our server was there promptly to take our drink order as well as our food order. Think she was the only one there but she was pretty efficient. Both of us got the wake and waffle which came with our choice of waffle, we got the buttermilk, hash browns, 2 eggs any style and hash browns. I didn't need the hash browns and they were a bit over cooked, but the eggs were well cooked, the bacon crispy and the waffle very tasty. The food came out quickly and no one minded that we sat and visited after paying our bill. Certainly worth the trip, especially given the prices are very affordable.

    Nicely done good flavors

Well what can I say. Parking was a bit hard to find,. But we managed an up front spot. Ordered Mexican spiced coffee and chicken and waffle bowl. Well lit atmosphere. A bit on the warm side but Alaska man so.... Fam order an avacado scramble without the tomato and a tea. I would return and try a few more things.

I ordered the Pork Belly Benedict, and it was absolutely delicious. I love me a good pork belly and this was a unique twist on the classic Eggs Benedict that I had to try, adding a savory flavor that complemented the dish perfectly. Everything was cooked well and beautifully presented. My friend ordered the (classic? Daily special?) French toast and completely demolished his plate before I had even finished mine! It looked incredible, and by how quickly it disappeared, we agreed it tasted pretty good (I had a small bite). The ambience and décor are exquisite, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere that's perfect for a leisurely brunch. Dirty Oscar's Annex - Disappointing Experience on 6th Ave…read more We came in as a group of seven, and unfortunately the experience went downhill quickly. First, the service was poor and disorganized. One of my friends arrived early and ordered her drink, but it didn't arrive until after I had already received mine -- even after she asked twice. We also had to wait far too long for basic things like napkins and forks because we weren't given enough for everyone. The most frustrating part, however, was the automatic gratuity. At no point were we informed -- verbally or on the menu -- that parties of 6 or more are charged an automatic 20% gratuity. We only discovered it by carefully reviewing our checks. And to make matters worse, the so-called "20%" was not actually 20%. It came out to 24.1%. When we questioned it, the person who said she was the manager claimed "the computer does it automatically." We are a table full of teachers -- and the math was definitely not mathing. We understand and respect gratuity for large parties, especially when the service is great or when it's clearly communicated. But charging more than the stated percentage crosses from poor service into a billing integrity issue. To add to the frustration, there is also a credit card processing fee, which again was not clearly disclosed on the menu and only appeared at the bottom of the receipt. This absolutely should be visibly posted before ordering. They did offer to refund some of the charges, but we declined because it would have taken additional time and we had an event to get to -- and more importantly, it doesn't resolve the core issue of lack of transparency. She also gave each of us a $10 gift card, but again, that doesn't resolve the issue. And honestly, what good is a gift card if we don't plan on returning because of such an awful experience? Overall, this was a very disappointing visit, and not one we would recommend based on service and transparency alone.

There was only one server and it took several minutes before we were seated, which was near the front door on a wobbly, sticky table. People started coming in and were being seated at booths. This was puzzling to me with only one server...why was my family seated at the front on the restaurant? I wanted coffee, but I saw a full pot on the maker and asked when it was made. The waitress was honest and said 2pm (it was already past 4pm) so I passed and just ordered a sweet tea which was good. I ordered the country fried steak (my usual at the Puyallup location), but I was unhappy with it. When I tried to cut it, the breading came off and showed this dark, jerky like piece of meat. It wasn't edible so I sent it back. We will continue to support the Tim's kitchen in Puyallup. Although the Tacoma location has good ambiance, the server and cook let us down.
