They took my inspiration photos and a sketch, and they manifested it into a natural-looking design that is well integrated in our existing yard. From the moment I reached out, Ghee promptly communicated back with detailed answers over the phone and/or text. We locked in scope, and the estimate he provided was reasonable. It was on the high end compared to other bids, but his communication and experience led us to go with him. And good thing we did. The resulting project is beautiful. We got large granite rocks, river rock, and a liner underneath all for $4K. Much of that was material cost. The labor they put in was 2.5 days. Definitely hard work to dig out the pond and move the large rocks in place. The crew also was friendly and kept the site clean every day. I'd definitely hire Fire Sparrow Landscaping again.

We've been really impressed by this process. The construction crews are highly professional. They are thoughtful and careful with neighbors when dealing with moving equipment in and out, noise, and those kinds of things. They are great communicators and set really good expectations about project length and other details. When we asked for tweaks or changes midstream there was never any grousing or grumbling - they were very focused on making sure we were 100% happy. The guys are our crew were Colin, Max and Michael, and Patrick was the Construction Manager. In both cases, the finished projects were even more stunning than we expected. Top notch.

Gerardo showed up, chatted with me about what I wanted, took measurements, and gave me a bid on the spot. I was moving into a house I was rehabbing and needed a portion of this fence done right away because I have a dog and he hustled to not only build the new portion I needed, but went out of his way to do some repairs on the existing fence to keep my dog safe and secure. He and the people working for him showed a lot of attention to detail, checked in with me often about the project to make sure it was coming along and looking as I expected, and every day at the end of the day the work site was clean and organized. The number of red flags in 1 message exchange. First of all, if you are in the field don't respond to the message or hire someone who can do it without getting upset that their customer do not know what they need.

Jose came up with a plan that has curves to fit in well with the curves in my existing landscape, plus the swamp is gone! He gave me advice on which sizes of pavers would work well in the design. PROFESSIONALISM - every day the team was on time and left the area cleaned up. They laid and re-laid pavers until they were satisfied with the look. They spent a lot of time leveling and fixing places where water pooled on my lawn/old patio. They improved the downspout drains and crawlspace vents. After 2 years living in our Issaquah rambler, we were tired of our grubby back yard. With a very…read moresloping hillside slumping into it, the constant roll of rocks, and puddling of runoff made the space not very enjoyable. Our small deck, and a big dirt patch was also not a clean or functional space for us or our dog - so it was time for a change. Once we set our minds to investing in a renovation, I met with 7 (yes 7!) concrete, rockery, and paver providers to discuss the projected heat their ideas, and solicit quotes. A number of the providers were visionless, one was rude, and another was wildly expensive (twice as much as any of the others). Enter Jose and J Zamora Construction. While my initial vision for the space was admittedly to have a concrete patio, with a paver retaining wall - after meeting with Jose, my mind changed. In the most genuine and non-pressuring tone possible, he educated me about the benefits of using pavers (repairability, less cracking risk, better drainage, etc). That, combined with both his understanding of the challenges of my property, as well as his unique lense on a design for our space - made Jose a stand out. I also greatly appreciated that when I expressed specific wishes, he did not take offense when those ideas didn't align with his initial recommendation. When some providers acted put-off when I said "I don't want to take out this tree" (etc.), Jose took it in stride and offered solutions rather than trying to convince me that my preference was unreasonable. After viewing our property, he was prompt, kind, and fair in his quote to us. His documentation was thorough and clear. That, along with his truly aesthetically, and functionally minded vision for our space convinced me to completely pivot from "I'm doing concrete", to "let's go with pavers". After hiring Jose, he recommended products that suited our combined vision for my yard, was transparent about potential overages, and ultimately executed a project that is beyond my dreams for our difficult space. His crew of 6 busted their behinds for 4 solid days to crack it out. They were prompt, respectful of my property and neighbors; and thorough in their daily, and end of project cleanup. They even went above and beyond to carefully re-lay our dog's invisible fence line, which was displaced in the underground drainage portion of our project. Ultimately, we're left with the addition of nearly 1000 square feet to our livable space. An area that started as a grubby dirt patch has become a clean and stunning use of space. It flows with the natural landscape, and looks cohesive with our very mid century home. We have had neighbors (known to us and new introductions) stop by with their jaws on the floor - one even saying "you've made this yard the showpiece of the mountain". Once we paint the house - our sweet little rambler will be perfection - and we have Jose to thank for so much of our exterior transformation. I hired Jose's to remove the weeds (by the roots) from my rockery to clean it up. I checked on crew…read moreshortly after starting (they were 1.5 hours late), and they had removed nearly half of the existing flowering plants that covered the rockery. I called the owner and he said he would install replacement plants and make it right. Again, they came to my house and were late. The owner who claims to be a project mgr did not come, did not check the quality of work, or communicate in any way. Four weeks later, I have to weed constantly, plants are nearly dead because they are in direct sun, and found that the mulch that I was required to purchase to hold water for the new plants was used to cover the existing weeds which were not removed. I do not recommend you trust them to do the work that you are paying them to do.
