We had just finished dinner in Glenside and were walking back to our car when we noticed a little ice cream store. Dreams. We both LOVE ice cream, so we stopped in. The first thing I noticed was the disarray and lack of cleanliness in the store - frankly, it's a mess....which made me think twice about getting ice cream there. Nonetheless, I got a scoop of coffee. It was very tasty - I pretty much eat Haagen Dazs exclusively for both its taste and price. I can usually get a pint at Walmart for between $3-$4. This coffee ice cream had a little different coffee taste than Haagen - which I liked. However, it didn't seem as creamy, which was fine. My partner got the chocolate, which she said was average. One scoop was a little over $5, which is about average these days for your stand alone ice cream shops. While I was satisfied with the taste of my cone, I probably won't go back until they 'clean up' the store. read more

The prices are a little expensive Their street parking the store is very small so not too many people can be inside at one time. My boyfriend lives in glenside and every time I visit I see this cute little ice cream shop on the way to our fav dinner spot! he hasn't been so we went and tried it for the first time together! I had my heart set on the waffle sunday so we had that with mint chocolate chip brownie batter that the lady gave us a sample of, coffee, rocky road, and chocolate pb. It was fantastic!! the sunday is topped with whipped cream, cherries, sprinkles, and I think a chocolate sauce! My husband and I had a fantastic experience at Dreams. The proprietors are probably the most welcoming and friendly people we've ever met. And their ice cream (especially the vegan flavors) are so delicious and creamy. It's without a doubt the best vegan ice cream I've ever had and, being lactose intolerant, I've sampled plenty in my day. I had vanilla and chocolate peanut butter. I couldn't tell the difference from dairy ice cream. Surprisingly it was not overly sweet and had no aftertaste like the majority of vegan ice creams I've had. My husband had the rum raisin and chocolatefudge brownie. It was so good he considered going back for another double scoop cup. If you live in the area or happen to be going to the Keswick, bypass the place next to the theater and head over to Dreams. You won't be disappointed. I love the ice cream options available at this shop. I ordered the vegan almond bark sundae and got to select three toppings (vegan almond whipped cream, crushed waffle pieces, and wet walnut) to go along with three scoops. Sundaes are half priced on Sundays, and they have other promotions going on throughout different days of the week. The vegan ice cream's texture is not as creamy as some big brand non-dairy ice creams that I've had but it is still very delicious. I love how friendly and talkative the staff members are. Had a simple order. 2 small cups. 2 different flavors. 1 with hot fudge. The girl doing the scooping was nice but moved at a snails pace. So disappointing that the hot fudge was a squeeze bottle that she put in the microwave. Who knows how many times that bottle has been heated and cooled. The girl at the register couldn't figure out what to charge despite the simple order. It took her literally 4-5 minutes to ring me in and that was after asking the other girl twice what I bought while i stood there with my ice cream melting. Worst of all, the owner is sitting outside scrolling on his cell phone while the store is busy and employees who aren't trained are struggling. Went to Dreams after some minigolf. The place was much smaller than I was expecting, but was really nice inside. The staff were incredibly helpful and offered us a few free trials. I went with a death by chocolate sundae. Two scoops for me and three toppings. Although all of the ice cream was really good, I don't think I'd ever get a sundae here again. No hot fudge? No cherry on top either? Cones, shakes or specialty donut sandwiches in the future for me then... This didn't have an effect on my rating at all, but there was a check-in offer for free iced coffee. It was late, but we thought we would share it. We redeemed the offer and then the cashier pauses and says we don't have ice. I said, that's fine, but then she went to the fridge and paused. I knew what was coming next... Before she could talk, I said don't worry about it. She felt horrible, because there was no coffee left either... We decided to come here after playing mini golf because it was listed as some of montcos best ice cream. It was a tiny ice cream store, but decorated cute outside. The staff were very friendly and asked if I wanted to sample flavors. I was very impressed with the tiramisu flavor. I tried birthday cake too and that was good as well, both extremely creamy and flavorful. I ended up ordering a sundae with tiramisu, birthday cake, and cookie monster ice cream. I was slightly dissapointed they didn't offer hot fudge as a topping. My sundae came with 3 toppings so I got it with chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and sprinkles. Most places don't count whipped cream and cherry as a topping, they usually automatically come with it. So really it was like I only got 1 or 2 toppings. We also had a yelp offer for a free iced coffee but they didn't have any left. They did feel really bad about it though, but we said it was ok. It was kinda late and it probably would have kept us awake anyway. It was very good ice cream. I would come back if we're in the area, but I think I might just get a cone next time. We stopped here today for a quick dessert after lunch. It's a quaint little spot that you could easy drive past without noticing. There is limited seating outside so on a busy day you may not be able to get a seat. Luckily today there was plenty of seating! The cashier/ice cream server was very friendly and helpful. She allowed us to try a few flavors and offered suggestions. We took advantage of the $5 for $10 voucher being offered through Yelp. With the voucher we were able to get 1-one scoop cone and 2-two scoop cones for only $5. I got the mint chocolate chip ice cream which so was creamy! This is one of the many tasty flavors they other such as Cookie Monster (cookie dough chunk with Oreo cookies in a blue dyed vanilla ice cream). Dreams is one of the few places I've ordered from on Grubhub that I've never had a single problem with LOL. After a bad experience the other night having gotten excited for Chinese food, ordering food from a place in Roxborough (which isn't far from me at all) and having them cancel it because the delivery driver "said I lived too far"..but me not finding out it was canceled til TWO HOURS LATER and everything else was CLOSED, Grubhub gave me a 20 pct off coupon..which really is a pathetic remedy for the hassle their problems have caused me. In any case, I decided to use them to order a milkshake from Dreams. Last summer I really became addicted to Dreams' milkshakes. They are SO good. I can't even believe there's an ice cream store that DELIVERS..such a thing is what makes life worth living. Lately, though, I've been trying to cut down on sugar. Still, I thought maybe an ORGANIC vegan milkshake wouldn't be THAT unhealthy. I ordered one with the vanilla almond bark, and bits of waffle cone added. It was SO good. I was slurping til I couldn't slurp anymore, and then used a spoon to dig out what was left after the yummy coconut milk mixer was gone. I'm afraid that now I've re-ignited my addiction. I gotta say this place has some great ice cream - my only hold back is that it is a tad pricey. I have tried a plethora of things here, as they do offer great variety - milkshakes, coffee & ice cream, banana- based ice cream, and a huge selection of specialty flavors! Creative flavors include: Death By Chocolate, Cookie Monster, etc. and they all look so fun and taste so great! My personal recommendation is the banana cream with mixed berry flavor - it's so tasty, healthy and fresh! I have both been in-store and ordered delivery (they deliver into late hours of the night to satisfy your late night sweet tooth!!) and I will say delivery was the way to go for me. Delivery was pretty low in cost and very quick in arrival! The in-store experience was good, with an adorable building, but very tiny! I can't find a place to sit when there is a bit of a crowd (there is about 10 seats max) , so this is the place to go if you want to-go ! So much love for Dreams Ice Cream Factory! Dreams is the most adorable little ice cream shop on Glenside ave. If you blink you'll miss it so make sure you keep your eyes peeled, because you don't want to miss out on this ice cream. I did a little research after my visit and saw on their website that they serve the "best authentic and locally grown treats in the region." Its awesome that they use local ingredients and of course the ice cream is amazing. On my last visit, me and a group of friends stopped here on a Tuesday night after an event at school. There were about 8 of us and the shop is small like I said, but we all fit inside comfortably. The staff was very warm and welcoming and worked efficiently to get all of our orders ready. I can seriously not say enough about the staff! The owner is so genuine and really does follow through with the mission of the company which is to "encourage people to dream." He took a photo with us during our visit and posted it on the business's social media pages with the sweetest caption. Now onto the best part: The ice cream of course! I ordered the Peanut Butter Cup Fudge milkshake. Anybody who knows me knows that when it comes to my ice cream, I always choose some combination of chocolate and peanut butter. Of course, It was delicious!! (As if I even need to say it!) Another thing that I find awesome about Dreams is that they deliver! It's hot and humid out, and I thought, what better way to start my Fourth of July 4-day weekend than with some homemade ice cream from the new shop down the road! Dreams Ice Cream Factory is located about 100 yards from the Glenside train station, in a cute little toy-like house. Apparently, this place used to be Glen Dobbins Ice Cream Shoppe before they closed down. I don't really know what happened (I'm new to this area), but Dreams just opened up last week and that's all that really matters- 'cuz it's SO GOOD!! They sell a good variety of ice cream flavors, in addition to water ice, milkshakes, sundaes, and FUNNEL CAKE (which I'll have to try next time). I had their salted caramel, and it was delicious! A friend tried some of mine, and opted to get the same after the taste. Another friend had the birthday cake flavor, and she really enjoyed it as well. The prices were pretty reasonable- I paid $3.18 for two scoops. They do have waffle cones/bowls and toppings for a bit extra too. We all ordered and stood in a Circle eating our ice cream and boom I bite down on a staple. I'm in shock. I show my wife and then walk over to the counter to show the employees.
