Dairy free is not worth it! I've been coming here for years. With the old owners, the dairy free always had several options and was just as good as the dairy. Nice, local ice cream shop with amazing quality ice cream. I usually pot for chocolate but chose butter pecan and received the best butter pecan of my life. The pecans were candied and I've been thinking about it for days now. Service is efficient despite the fact the Ice cream is meticulously weighed to prevent overages. This place gets ALLLLL the props for authentic old school parlor vibes and woman owned business support. They really put effort into the decor and it definitely creates a fun experience you think you would only get in cities. Their variety of flavors/syrups is grandiose as well, with classics plus a few fun innovations. I tried the Tutti Frutti shake because I am a fan of tart and strawberry- it looked like out of a commercial and the first few sips were lovely. But then the syrup ran out so no extra tang and the fruit pebbles were gone so no texture mix. Just a basic strawberry shake then. Delicious but not special. And the prices here are for special. They do not skimp on portions and have the service flow down- which is good because you can expect a line out the door! So many flavors including a handful of dairy free flavors! The server was friendly and apologized for the short wait. For the sample,I forgot to ask for the dairy free option so I tasted the regular lavender blueberry. It was very floral, but in a good way. I requested the dairy free option for my cone and actually preferred it over the regular. I think the dairy free ice cream had a better balance of the blueberry flavor. I didn't care for the vegan coffee ice cream and was disappointed that they only had 2 vegan flavors. The vegan was too sweet lacked flavor and was not creamy. The interior of this place reminded me of a lot of franklin fountain but the ice cream but not so much the taste. They offer various flavors but I ended but getting strawberry and I was highly disappointed. Everything about the ice cream tasted artificial. I saw strawberries in there but it did not taste real. After taking a chunk of the ice cream, I finally got to the cone...except the cone was also stale. I'm excited to try some where new, and see what other places have to offer. We had gone out to dinner near by and decided to yelp "ice cream" places near by. After going through a few of the listings, this place caught my eye. So we decided to go. I must warn you parking is tough during the week let skin a weekend. There was a metered lot within walking distance that cost .50 for an hour, and you don't have to go back to your car with the receipt. We walked in and it's set up really cute, the space is small but they make the best use of it. There is even a small counter with 4 wooden seats to sit at. The place opened in 2015, but it was set up like a soda shoppe from the fifties or sixties. They had a very old register and phone on the wall for decor. They also sold loose candy which I'm sure kids love! I ordered a regular ( one scoop ) sundae and my hubby had a banana split. They both looked delicious, however it only was just ok. I ordered chocolate marshmallow because as a kid that's what we had in the summer. I was very disappointed because there was hardly any marshmallow in the ice cream. It could have just been the way they scooped it but I have never seen anything like this. My shock came when we went to pay and for those two items it was $15!!!! I couldn't believe it & I could have went to the store and bought all that and had some for another time. read more

I stopped here for the first time, while visiting the Philly area a few months back. First, I was impressed by the quaint old timey appearance of the place - it really nicely replicates an ice cream parlor from 100 + years ago. They have a bulk candy corner where the candy is stored in wooden drawers, but alas, the drawers were mostly empty. No candy for me! The ice cream was also good, although I thought the individual scoop size was a bit skimpy for the price. I guess I am used to larger scoop portions being served in my home community for the same money [sigh]. Then my wife wanted to try the iced lemonade. Tip: resist the urge to buy this drink - it is simply Country Time lemonade mix blended with crushed ice. Seriously. $4.00 for something you can make at home for under a buck and no natural taste. It was not delicious, to say the least. I have paid that same amount for freshly squeezed lemonade in Allentown that tasted much better. Nice venue and concept, but management needs to keep the candy area better stocked and consider switching to real lemonade. read more
