This is my first visit here. I would say this is exactly what a comic book shop should look like. However, the books and toys are exposed to pollution and moisture from the air so, if you just read comics but do not keep for long term collection, then this shop is for you. I honestly prefer the clean ac'ed shops where comics are cozy. Ryder is so nice and friendly. Would come back jus to say hi to the guy and maybe buy a few copies. read more

As far as comic book shops go, this comic book shop will be my #1 choice when I'm on the west side. After our lunch in Santa Barbara, I was aching for some superhero literature. I haven't bought a graphic novel in quite a while. I'd seen this place several times while in the west side, but never went in. We went in this time. I love comic book shops. They have a freakin' bat cave for godsakes! How cool is that? You can even chill on the couch. At least I think you can. I didn't get a chance to. I wish I had my camera. The dude at the counter was very informative, I had a couple of questions with regards to some of the collected editions of stuff, I needed answers, he answered them. Nice! Oscar? I didn't get a name, he's a young cat. I ended up buying both collected volumes of "Thunderbolts." Like some shops I've been to, there is no pretentiousness here whatsoever. I hate comic book stores that take themselves too seriously to help a brotha out. Not here, no aura of BS. I dig that. You best believe I'll be back for more adventures! I'm no comic geek by ANY standards. In fact, I've only read one complete graphic novel, but in the span of one week, I was shopping at three different comic book shops to find my comic lovin' bf the perfect bday gifts. I was actually lucky enough to find his surplus of gifts at 2 other comic shops, but Dream World Comics was #2 on my checklist. I read their rave reviews, so I really wanted to check it out. I told my bf about this shop, so we finally went here one evening and he was like a giddy, little kid in a candy shop. He wasn't nearly as giddy as he was at Comic-Con, but close enough though. Within 5 mins, I realized I could've killed two birds with one stone cause all the graphic novels and the figurine I got him at the other 2 shops were all at this shop alone. I also noticed off the bat that the owner was very hospitable and knowledgeable about what was up and coming, so it's a shame I didn't get there sooner, but better late than never. After browsing through the store together, I left my bf to his own comic geek world, and I found the bat cave in the back (thanks to the heads up from the loyal customers who yelped this place). This shop has the COOLEST BAT CAVE known to mankind! I literally felt like I just got off the Batman ride at Magic Mountain and was waiting for my photo to appear on the screen. However, in this case, it was even better cause I perfectly came in when they started playing the opening credits for The Dark Knight. I sat on the sofa with the A/C blasting over my head in this super cool, dark bat cave, fully entertained by the film and fascinated by the endless figurines of Batman, Robin, and Joker that surrounded me on all sides. This is the perfect spot to just sit back and chill while a true comic geek combs the shelves for the next best graphic novels. read more

I used to go to another comic book store in Santa Monica, but I decided I wasn't going to go back when I pulled up the day Captain America came back from the dead (My favorite super-hero) and rather than let me buy the comic, they closed the door and locked it just as I was putting my mitts on the handle. I showed up to give them money and they said, "No thanks!" So I've been looking for a good neighborhood comic store. I spend more money than I should on comics, but ...and I hate to say this, I get hooked on the stories. I can take a minor detour on my way home from work to get to Dream World, so I gave them a try. Best.Comic.Store.Ever. First of all, they've got a lot of stock - trades, new releases, old stuff, indies, you name it. Collectibles by the ton! Also, the Bat Cave in the back is truly awesome - a real cave-like space full of Bat Collectibles. I'm not a Bat Fancier, but I still this this was super impressive. But more than anything - I asked a few questions about the most recent Marvel events, and Oscar, the owner/manager/expert walked around pulling all the titles for the Secret Invasion plot line, told me what order to read them in - and then piled on a bunch of freebies on top of that - I mean a BUNCH just to get me caught up on the Dark Reign story. Because it's a great story and he's enthusiastic about it, and he knew if I got hooked, I'd come back and buy the rest. And you know what? He's totally right - with a few freebies and an enthusiastic answer, he got himself a loyal customer. I'm starting my pull list next time I go in. My gosh. Oh Dream Worlds, you are so Dreamy! I had a project I was doing some research on involving comics. I had visited two comic stores previous to this one and was feeling a bit down in the dumps. I learned the hard way that if you are an outsider, comic book stores in general are NOT SAFE PLACES for inquisitive minds. Dream Worlds saved me. I was helped out by a guy who could have been a dead ringer for Sabretooth (and not in a bad way). He was more than helpful. In fact I was introduced to some awesome collections. This is truly a KID friendly comic book store. The previous stores that I had been to were geared more for adult fans. But if you have a child that likes COMICS not MANGAS but real good old fashion COMICS, take them here to indulge. AND PAY ATTENTION! Know what you kids are reading. Ask these guys for the most appropriate series for child's age. Just because its colored does not mean its kid friendly. Believe me when I say that nipples often pop out when you least expect them to. read more

I really didn't care for this place. It's nice and shiny but what it has in looks it loses in actual substance. The book racks are all wood. So you can only make out half of the title of whatever is new. The back issues is spread out so that you're already making a tough task even tougher. Traders are all over the place and in no real order on the wall. It makes looking for specific books that much harder. Forget about looking for the last few issues of whatever. It's simply not going to happen. I have to give it one thing though, they have a sort of bat cave in the back of the store. While it's neat and all, it serves very little purpose besides allowing the owner to display his many batman statues without the mrs. getting mad at him. The help, from my couple of experiences going in there, was more concerned about what we thought of the stores looks opposed to what we needed help in finding. There's better comic stores near here. This place is all flash and no substance. read more

Dream World Comics is my happy place on Wednesday mornings. I make a list of my pulls for the week and commute on over so I could spend my day reading (I highly suggest the new She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel* while they're still a couple issues in. The owner is more than happy to give recommendations as well). The reason why I drive out to Culver City instead of other comic book stores around my area is because of the customer service: the owner is very knowledgeable, always looking to chat you up (especially if you become a regular, he's a funny guy), he checks the comics you pick out to make sure they are not damaged, and gives you the board/bags for free (other places charge you for that). What I like about the set-up is that it's really easy to find the current week's comics. You walk in and they're to you're left. They're alphabetized and are easy to pick out. (In my experience, other stores have racks that are an eye sore and make you feel overwhelmed when you can't find your comics). Old comics are located further in the back along with the huge collection of old issues, trades, etc. Keep in mind that comics (and trades) are special to collectors and those selling them - in other words, handle the items carefully when browsing so that they don't get damaged, otherwise it's worthless. If you can't find last week's or any older comic, let the owner know. He will walk with you to the back where the old issues are and he'll show how to find what you're looking for. It's a nice, local comic book store on the Westside. The staff is nice and knowledgeable and there's a good supply of books to satisfy whatever you desire. The new releases are in the front near the cashier and the older stuff is in the back. There's this cavern like area that is like Dungeons and Dragons and they play movies, some you know, some I have NO clue what it is. There's a pretty big collection of collected volumes of comics if that's your thing. It's located right on the corner in a busy intersection and parking is limited, but if you need comics and are in the area, it's a great place to go to. The people are pretty nice, not talkative unless you solicit them so that's good as I don't need anyone stalking me as I look for something! read more

When I was a kid, there were two things I looked forward to: buying my favorite comic books and reading them deep in my secret fort deep in the woods, and buying new packs of my favorite trading cards. And while it's not the direct inspiration for CBC and The Android's Dungeon, Dream World Comics could be a close image in terms of what to expect. Walking through the front door, one can't help but notice how sterile everything is. So much inventory behind glass or sealed up in plastic. Walking around the store, one can't help but notice that the overwhelming majority of what makes up their stock is 'the big two': DC and Marvel. And while I appreciate these two heavies for everything they've done and put out over the years, my tastes tend to be a lot more underground and/or local (think Last Gasp, Rip Off Press, Paul Mavrides, Gary Panter, Randall Vogel, Keith Knight, The Hernandez Bros, etc). None of which appears to be found within their inventory (if it is, it's pretty well-hidden). As previously noted, it amazed me at the amount of merchandise was sealed up in plastic- rather thick plastic where dirty grubby human hands might touch them, causing their collectability value to drop. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if they were hermetically sealed. This does not bode well if you want to peruse a tantalizing new title for it's storyline/artwork. Even though this store is primarily mainstream material, I decided to inquire with the clerk about a title that was not on the shelves or in the bins. But as I got closer to the counter, and began hearing the venomous rantings of Glenn Beck, I decided it was time to depart the store. The overall impression I got from this store is that it's not the place for comic book/graphic novel/illustrated story aficionado. Rather, this is a place for the collector. The individual who purchases the items not to be enveloped in the imaginations artists/story writers, but as an investment, speculating that at a future time it will be worth many times more than the purchased price. It is, also good for anyone working in the studios, and need multiple copies for handouts to producers, paste-ups for storyboards, etc. However, for the average reader, given the limited selection and noticeable lack of non-mainstream inventory, I would consider shopping elsewhere. read more

What a coincidence that a rebuttal pops up two days after my initial review (especially considering there were absolutely no other customers in the shop when we were there). That's too funny. For the record, we were questioning the authenticity of a "limited edition" print. We weren't looking for a cheap deal (that is exactly what the owner accused us of as soon as we asked him about the print). We would have gladly paid the money if it was in fact, a limited edition. Dream World is great. I love the atmosphere, and their screening room is a fun place to hang out, read or watch Simpsons (or comic book movies) if you have some time to kill. The owner and staff are EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. The discount bins are fun to look through, and their selection of trades and graphic novels is pretty amazing. My only negative is their back issue prices. Even though the pricing isn't steep, it's still enough to make you think twice about cracking open your wallet. read more

Tonight, I canceled my pull list at Dream World Comics after THREE YEARS of dropping in once a week to pick up my usual books. I did not come to this decision lightly. Something dawned on me when I remarked to another customer in the store two weeks ago that I've "gotten used to" books on my pull list not being pulled, or duplicates or re-orders of six-month-old titles being added to my file, and that I just go to other local stores to fill in the gaps or place special orders, because I had long ago given up all hope of EVER getting a special order, pre-order, or re-order of *anything* from this store. It all boils down to ONE employee, and his bad customer service, skeezy demeanor (like a used car salesman), and distribution of inconsistent or just outright false information. I eventually got sick of dealing with him, so I canceled my pull list after being a customer here since long before he was employed. The real topper was when I told him I was canceling my pull list tonight. He didn't even look up from the magazine he was reading a just said "...'k." So that's that. So much for valuing customer loyalty. If you're dropping in on a whim, it's not a bad place. They DO get in a fair spread of major and indie or unusual titles, and they have a considerable stock of toys, collectibles, CCGs, figurines and trade paperbacks. But if you're looking for a place with reliable, competent, and *honest* service, this is NOT IT. I'm going to really miss having a comic store that I pass on my way home from work, but it's just not worth the frustration and disappointment, anymore. I'm going to take my pull list down to Hi De Ho, because the service I've experienced there has always been friendly and honest. Addendum on 9/19/08: Jamie T.'s review reminded me of a point that I feel I should mention... The guy in question here STILL could not remember my name after he'd been working there for at least a year, despite my coming in regularly. Further addendum on 8/26/10: Yes, seriously. The guy that drove me away from this place couldn't remember my name after he'd been working there for over a year. He even tried to argue with me what my name was at one point, going so far as to get out my pull list, then try to blame another employee for writing it down wrong...until I pointed out that it was MY handwriting on the form. The inside of this comic book store is nice with several geeky touches. The guy who runs it (two family businesses--this comic store and the hardware store next door) is friendly and pretty chatty. But there are two reasons why I may not be back soon--(1) too many times they were out of what I was looking for, and (2) parking can be a little difficult. Still, if you are into comic books, Dream World is definitely worth checking out. read more

Holy condescending Batman! Traveling from out of town and wanted to pick up my weekly books. The cashier to my daughters (who are older -9&12) as they picked up a comic: "Be careful with that, people read those." My daughter was confused. I said, "yeah she reads comics...that's why we're here. Same to my other daughter as she picked up a POP vinyl figure: "Be careful, people collect those." Most things were overpriced, but after his tone to my kids (and the way he talked to the other staff), I didn't want to spend a dime. Avoid. read more

Dream World is by far my favorite Comic Shop and geek destination in Los Angeles. The folks who run the shop are always friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating, and the extensive array of unique collectibles and trades give the store the look and feel of living art. Another exceptional feature is the Batcave entertainment room that has often provided an interesting audible backdrop to my shopping experience (animated adaptions of super hero comics are usually playing) or a chance to catch a few scenes from one of the newly released comic, sci-fi or fantasy films. This area has also played host to celebrity clientele at the monthly live show that occurs, featuring authors, artists, and actors from various genres. Some reviews below have mentioned parking being an issue, but if the large parking lot behind the store is full, I have always found a few spots directly across the street on Washington. For anyone living on the Westside, DreamWorld is the local gem, and a great place bring friends. read more

First time there today after 3 years of driving by daily on my way home...and what a treat!! I can't believe it took me this long. I'm no hardcore comic geek by any means so I'm not sure what some commenters here mean by "mainstream" but as far as I can see, the selection is top notch. I was able to pick a couple classic Batman graphic novels and a selection of new releases. They also have tons of action figures and collectibles if that's what you're into. Great overall first experience, I will definitely be going back...like, next week! read more

Stopped off here a couple of nights ago to get the crossover titles in the DC Night of the Owls Batman event. They had most of the recent back issues I was looking for, and Oscar, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. They don't seem to have as many single issues as Comics Ink -- my other local comic shop -- does, but they have more trade paperbacks. Good to know about, and one to return to. Update: Be sure to check out their new location in the refurbished gas station! Much more room, more spacious, and better display of the stock. This place blows!! They never have issues I am looking for because they don't order as many comics as they use to, so if you are looking for a comic you better be on their regular's list so they can put those comics aside for you. But if you just so happen to walk in off the streets looking for a specific comic title, good luck! Also, they have a bad way of displaying comics. They are displayed in a slotted wooden box that only allows you to see the title of the comic (if its at the top), because the slots cover up the rest of the comic's cover art. It is so uninviting!! What if I wanted to pick up a new title? Seeing the cover art would be the deciding factor to choosing a new comic to read, but since I can't see thru wood, I don't even bother. Oh, and the staff consist of one dude who if your a girl, is a nightmare to deal with! I want to buy comics not be harassed by some weirdo creepy guy! I have never gone in alone (and the only reason I go in is my friend drags me there, not because I want to). In addition, the creepy guy doesn't shut up. You know when you try to be polite and start to back away so they get the hint? Not this guy, so if your lonely I guess you should come in and have a long chat with this dude, but if you want to get comics you are actually looking for, go somewhere else. Oh, but they do have action figures and a crappy imitation batcave so that's something. read more

Whether you're a fanboy, trying to relate to your kids, or just like them reading books with the purty pictures and what not, Dream World Comics is a pretty rad place to check out. First of all, they have a pretty impressive catalog of back issues/trades, etc. You can usually find good deals on old stuff. Also, the prices are comparable to online vendors which makes it even more convenient to just buy it here than waiting for it to arrive. C'mon, you want to support your local stores, right? They also have such cool toys that are somewhat harder to find. They have fully stocked variations of the Pop! Figures and your standard MacFarlane toys too. Knowledgeable, cool, and most importantly non pretentious staff make this place even MORE enjoyable. The only thing that they could fix or try to make clearer is the parking but it's hardly ever too crowded. read more

Used to live near Geoffrey's (which is also a fantastic shop), now closer to Dream World, so it became my new comic book "home." A couple important things to note: it's in a repurposed gas station building, so there's loads of parking. Parking is super easy. Parking is awesome. On the downside, I don't think there's any AC in the building (can't fault them for wanting to keep costs down!), so on a hot day it can be a little stuffy inside. Not a big deal though, because the owners are good at keeping the windows open and fans running to keep the airflow up. Would I want to stay there for 8+ hours? Probably not, but it's comfortable enough while digging through the stacks. The selection inside is great (I've finally finished my Locke and Key collection thanks to them, and I'm thrilled to pieces to see all the volumes of Fables) and if for some strange reason they don't have what you're looking for, you can place a special order--but this is where I'd go to Geoffrey's instead. Special orders here take a long, long time, and they lose a star on that. My roommate placed a special order back in March that still isn't in and nobody seems to know if it ever will be. Kind of annoying, but again, their selection of books in stock is enough to keep me coming back even with the slow, slow special orders. Book prices are great, though organization is occasionally a little questionable. Memorabilia and collectible prices are also pretty good, generally in line with Amazon with the bonus of not having to wait for shipping (what can I say, I'm impatient.). Nice selection of statues, including a few I've been making eyes at for a while, so may need to go back and pick those up soon before someone else snatches them up. Most of the employees are great, a good mix of knowledgeable and friendly. The owner can be kind of snappish, but the last time I was in he seemed to realize he was being rude and chilled out pretty quickly. Oh, and for obvious reasons, the owner doesn't want people roaming the store with open drinks inside, so finish your coffee or whatever you have before coming in. read more

I have to admit that having read all of these reviews I was intrigued. I ventured over there expecting to find a crazy world of fun and frenzy. Well I found crazy but it wasn't what I had thought it would be. Located in a part of town that's run down and minimal, the store was only easy to find by the Liquor store next to it that I had read would be there. The sign is small and hard to make out. However, I managed to find parking right on Washington Blvd and upon entering the store I was overwhelmed by the underwhelming sense of the place. There were lots of comics to be seen but the store wasn't littered with people or crazy attributes of various comic glory. It did have some memorabilia from a forgotten time when Star Wars was the coolest thing around and trinkets of various characters was the height of sophistication for your office space. They did have the graphic novel I was looking for, in fact the entire series it seemed, but I was hoping I would get a discount for buying two of them together being as that I was the only person shopping in the store. That did not happen. The bat cave that everyone raves about was kind of neat, though a little dilapidated. It was nice to see a few chairs in there for kids or whomever to watch the movie that was playing (today it was Wall-E). Yoda stood tall in this part of the shop and once again I was reminded that I was out of place being young, a woman and I hate to say it, but I'm gonna, white. I bought my graphic novel for the issue price that it was and left. While there may be comic book fanatics that can look past the decor and feel of a place, since all they can think about is getting their next fix of a series, I am not one of them. And I can't attest to how good it is for back logged issues or really rare finds since I'm not a comic follower. read more

I'm a avid comic collector and reader, this place is a cool spot for new comic readers. When you walk in you feel like a boy in a candy store. But more experienced collectors and readers may find that they are not well stocked on new weekly comics. If you miss a week of popular comics you'll most likely not find them there anymore. This place though is perfect for buying a gift for a comic fan. They have a ton of toys, statues, and trade paperbacks. read more

First of all, as an architecture student I love interestingly renovated and repurposed buildings/sites. So, having driven down Washington so many times I had always noticed a quaint little Comic Book store nicely tucked in a corner looking fairly inconspicuous... and I kept telling myself "one day I should check that place out" UNTIL... it shut down (booo). I hadn't realised that they had moved just up the road to a former gas station lot, where the original building (roller shutters et al) had been preserved with a new lick of paint, and some decals of all our favorite heroes and teams. I recommend this place mostly because the bloke behind the counter knew his stuff and any questions I had were promptly and accurately answered. He even recommended some series to me, and now I am an avid follower. Even if you decide not to buy anything, the shelves open directly onto the parking lot where there are a few park benches for you to read (stuff you should probably pay for), play magic cards, or even just chill with a coffee to chat with friends. read more

Ever since it opened at its first location i always wanted to check it out. I was not disappointed. It was run by these young guys and they were pretty nice. I wasnt really into any comics at the time but i just wanted to look around to just pretend :D But i did buy a few wrestling cards off one of the guys. When it was taken over from those guys it was this older guy who scared and stills scares me. One time i wanted to purchase a halo art book and called to see if they had them. I called the first time and they put me on hold and then said they had it and i asked how much and they told me. Then we hung up and i forgot that i was going to ask if they could hold it for me so i could get down there and he got angry and said he was busy and to just come down. It was right in the beginning of my experience but i will never forget it. But anyways the store is just so cool because of the batcave in the back. Its literally the best part. They had since moved and the new place is all painted up awesome and i went inside. It has twice the amount of stuff as the other store. It doesnt just have comics their either. They have some magic and yu gi oh card stuff but not singles. They also have a ton of collectables. I just really really like the enviroment of this place except the owner guy is very intimidating and it makes me uncomfortable so i dont like to stay too long or ask him any questions. But some people find him pleasant. I guess thats just me. read more

Some jerks talk about the bad experience they had, but watch! Their re-postings... Yelp wanted lots of $$$$ to keep up the good reviews, and I guess they're still not paying them as the old, long ago reviews are still mixed in with the new, fresh, good reviews. I mean, 2006? Really? That's the best you got? As for the place, my only problems stem around price & back issues, something stemming from the economy itself. And, also, he didn't have Flaming Carrot. That's my comic story. I went in looking to pick a fight with the guy after reading the mean spirited reviews, & wanted to humiliate him in his own store with his posse watching. What I found is a guy who tried to please the 'list' customers bending over backwards. But when some nutbar is demanding X-Men #94 just so he can LOOK at it, & only buys 1 Archie, well, that person should leave and lick a metro 3rd rail...instead he prints a lousy review on yelp. Been by a few times since, and he's okay. He won't put up with crap, which I applaud. He should be running airplanes. Yelp coming in and asking for scratch to Join-BBB-4-Rep-Repair, is a chicken-hawk move. As for me being a 'plant', I would love for you to say that to my face. Dream World is heaven for me. It's a place I can come and sift through thousands of comics, graphic novels, and cool toys/collectibles. This place is everything a comic book store should be. I have been to plenty of stores, such as Comics Ink and Hi De Ho Comics and this place blows them out of the water. There's a freakin' bat cave! It's an awesome dark room filled with everything to do with Batman, and they even have the movie playing in there. I swear I become a kid again when I come here. I like taking my daughter here and getting her into comics. We always end up leaving with some kind of toy with our reading material. The owner Oscar is awesome. He takes pride in his store and he knows his stuff. He always has good recomendations.. never let's me down. Customer service is half the battle, and he's got it down pat. Highly recommend this place for any geek like me.. or anyone who's into comics period. read more

Right off the bat, I'm not a "comic book guy." As a kid, I always wondered why the "Super Friends" didn't have more Aquaman-heavy episodes. Okay? That being said, I am surrounded by comic book nerds, Doctor Who geeks, and some equally relevant third thing. So this is where I go whenever one of them has a thing to get gifts for. And every time, it's the same routine. Someone says hello (IT HAPPENS, TRUST ME), I wander around and marvel at the stuff (Or "DC" at the stuff, if that's more your thing), and then I make some final decision and walk out with a neon Batman logo or a Doctor Who cookie jar or a little two-inch Butters from South Park, depending on how much I like the person. From a layman's perspective, this place is overpowering without being intimidating, if that's even a thing. For the uneducated jerk who just needs something really cool really fast, you cannot go wrong with this place. It's been my go-to for many years, and will continue to be for as long as may friends all refuse to grow up (which I'm hoping is a long, long time). read more

I was super excited to begin my journey into the comic worlds but I have to admit I'm really disappointed in fact that my first comic book looks badly defective!! Although I may be new to this, I still know a thing or two about how a new comic should look like. The comic does NOT look like a new comic. The ends are covered with flaws that can be easily noticed with the naked eye. The printing on both front and back covers are damaged and i'm guessing its because of bad boarding and covering (the print was facing the matte side of the board, when it should've faced the glossy side). When I told the guy that this book seems to have flaws he said that it's part of the design. I mean does this look part of the design? I just wish he wasn't trying to take advantage of me being new to this as a way to trick me. Anyways I'm just really upset that this was my first experience. Took my son (13) to Dreamworld this afternoon for our first visit and we thought it was great! The converted service-station vibe was cool, the selection of merchandise was impressive and everyone we interacted with - including the owner - was friendly and helpful. By the way, I don't understand the reviews that complained about the parking - they have a good-sized lot surrounding the store. Full disclosure: we're not serious comic book collectors or anything like that, but we found everything we were looking for and we'll certainly go back. I just visited the new location of the store and I have to say it's simply fantastic! Very clean, a lot of light and it's all open. It has so much stuff and the owner is always extremely kind and ready to help. This will become my first stop in my monthly comic book buying extravaganza! read more

Customer X- just wrote a review on this place, how wrong this is. I find this shop great, I have been going to this shop for years. the management pushes books for kids they have a rack right up front when you walk in. The store also has a very open atmosphere, its very inviting. I was in attendance on the day Customer X is referring to Free comic book day. Dreamworld had not only had the event but had it two days Sat and Sun with popcorn, jump house, artist, and Indy publishers. They had two young women letting people know where to find the free comics in the front of the store. Then it was also marked with a sign, once you went to the party area Dreamworld was giving away a goody bag with toys in it. I was one of the Indy publisher present, we had your quarky comics. we sold a lot of them to nearly sold out all to kids.Dreamworld was thrilled to have us and treated us and there guests great. So if your looking for a misleading post Customer x marks the spot, if you want a great comic shop go to Dreamworld. read more

Ok Ive been going here for awhile now and Im not sure why I didnt think to write a review before now. I love this place! If only I had more money I would buy so many items from this store. Oscar is always ready to give me some comic related info when I come in. I get my comics pulled for me weekly so I am usually here every Wednesday...unless im broke. Sometimes I hate parking in the back parking lot because its soo torn up back there, but that is my only negative for this place. If your looking for back issues, Graphic novels or various toys and statues this is the place for you to check out. I most likely will be going to Dream World Comics for a long time. read more

Points: - Never been here before - Went in looking for Man Cave decorations - Owner is really friendly, but short with words; he immediately offers to give me free posters for the man cave and then goes on about with casual conversation about comics and what not. Very impressed by the openness and hospitality. - Comics selection is great and the place has a pretty chill vibe to it. read more

My first impressions about this place was how organized it was. The only problem I had was "where do I start first". This place has everything from comics, toys, statues, graphic novels and more. I took a quick swoop of the place and then I was blown a way by the sight of a Batcave. This Batcave was just the cherry on top of the sundae. In the Batcave they had tons of Batman memorabilia. Then I sat down in the ever so comfortable couch and started to watch Planet Hulk the movie. Yes, they had a 40" television right in the Batcave where you can just hangout. This store just blew me back to the good ol days. I took one more swoop of the store and I was on my way. As I walked towards the exit I was treated with a "see you later" from one of the guys behind the counter. They definitely will be seeing me later. read more

Came here on a whim after going to Costco to pick up Superior Spiderman last night. Ended up talking about Spiderman among other things. He was out of boards and bags when I got there ( it was pretty late ), but he offered to give me one tomorrow if i dropped by. Turned out to be a pretty cool place. The owner Oscar is awesome! He was in the middle of moving a different spot on 12402 Washington Place but he still had plenty of stock. Definitely going to come back again as well as check out the new store as well! I went back the day after and I got several covers and boards for free. They were in the middle of moving to their new location and said they would be moved by last Friday. Going back to pick up some more comics next release of Superior Spiderman read more

Good selection of pop!s and if you're a batman fan you must check out their statue collection. As far as comics go it's a decent collection. I like going to shops and looking at variants and signed comics, make me spend extra $$$. Other than that I say it's 4 1/2 stars read more

Second time I've been here and it is still a cramped and disorganized place ... very difficult to walk around. They do have a decent range of graphic novels, but the staff is apathetic and some of the books are not in very good shape. I don't think there will be a 3rd visit by me. read more
