Back up and open with masks required, PDot's is the best place for comics in the SGV, hands down. Everyone here (especially owners Lawrence and Stacy) is super friendly and helpful, and they have a large selection of both new releases and back issues. They'll also help you put together a pull list of current titles so you never miss your favorites. On top of that, they started doing live claim sales on Instagram during the pandemic, and it's a great chance to get cool variants, rare back issues and hot new releases. Definitely follow them on IG. They'll ship those books too, so even if you aren't a local, it's worth following, because they do the sales several times a week. read more

Been using P Dot's as my local comic book shop for the last four years. They've created such a welcoming space in their store, great personnel, efficient communication lines. All around they hold it down. They also usually post up at all of the major cons in SoCal so it's fun to see a familiar face in the thousands. Absolutely a great comic store. They have all the new releases for NCBD and a ton of silver and bronze age goodies organized in boxes along the wall. The owners are really friendly and great to talk to. It's not too far from Comic Factory so if that's you're store I would suggest going to P Dot and give them a try. The location isn't great. No parking so you have to park around the block and the store is small with no AC. That's the only downside but if I lived closer I'd be here all the time. read more

I have a few go-to shops in and around LA, but this is definitely my go-to for back issues and complete sets. It's a fairly small store but it's FILLED with boxes of back issues. They have new stuff as well, of course. Customer service is easily among the best I've experienced in California. Super friendly and helpful and at the same time let you browse in peace. My last visit I had a bit of a dry cough and was quickly offered some water. It's really like stopping by a friends house. You'll find yourself spending hours digging through comics. Also, on Free Comic-Book Day they had a 50% off EVERYTHING sale. Yes EVERYTHING. Trade Paper Backs, hardcovers, back issues, complete sets, current stuff! I ended up stopping by twice during the day. Incredible deals. Highly recommend this shop for key issues, variant covers, back issues, complete sets, and some of the best customer service in town. read more

My sister lives near here and I am always drawn to it when I visit because of the gigantic Batman standing on the roof of the store. I'm thinking the Michael Keaton version. Anyway. Finally visited a few weeks ago and was quite surprised at the selection this little place has. If you're into comic books (and I guess I am) you'll enjoy it. Excellent comic store. I've been collecting for 25+ years so I've seen my share of good and bad comic book stores. This place is one of the better ones I've seen. They won't try to fool you with overpriced statues and toys. This place focuses on back issues and complete sets. Reminds me of my local childhood comic book stores. The owners were super nice and extremely helpful and patient. I was able to find many issues on my checklist (1st Sabertooth, Batman Year 1, 1st Elektra) at a fair price. Great selection of comics and Lawrence can even hold books for you! I met Lawrence at the LA Comic Convention and he had some really rare and hard to get back issues in insane condition! He also had a hook up where he had a Jim Lee sketch on a variant comic cover and Lawrence was nice enough to sell it to me! He didn't mind it as he knew I was a fellow fan. Best kept secret in Pasadena/Altadena of the last couple years. An exceptional array of modern, silver and copper age back issues. Very knowledgeable and nice couple operate the store (Lawrence and Stacy) and they know their stuff. Very nice, very helpful and very organized thereby making it easy to locate what you need. Very reasonable prices on top of everything else makes this a shop any true connoisseur of fine comics must visit and experience. You can even submit through them for CGC grading. Suffice it to say, I have been hooked since the first time I walked in about 2 months ago. They have helped me to plug up several holes in my runs of ASM, The Walking Dead, Avengers, Iron Man and several other titles. read more

Thank you! I haven't bought a new comic in years, but when I randomly heard that Claremont & Sienkiewicz had reunited for a New Mutants one-shot, nostalgia compelled me to grab a copy. When the first nearby store didn't have one (it's a random one-shot, so I understand that most stores can't order much beyond pre-orders these days, so no hard feelings), I called P Dot's--and the kind woman who answered found it for me and agreed to set it aside for me until I could get there. There's nothing quite like a comic book store, and I probably would never have noticed this unassuming place from the street, but I'm glad I found it, and that they helped me out. I guess I'll have to come back to look through their long boxes one of these days! read more

My family and checked this place out tonight to see if they might want to check out our vintage comic collection from my father in law ( who owned a comic book shop in Pasadena in the 80's ). Owners are very friendly and knowledgable. I've been to other shops where the people working there had no clue about comics and couldn't answer a single question I had. They have all the popular new issues and a very nice assortment of back issues. I was able to pick up some variant issues I had been searching for. Prices are good and the books are in excellent condition. Also, they had some nice bundled sets that they were selling. I was first introduced to this shop by an associate at the Pasadena Community College Flea Market. Their fle market deals were so awesome, that I had to check out their shop. I have been to this shop so many times I am surprised I have not summited a review on this place. Key points to a comic book shop are as followed customer service, selection of books, and the shop as a whole. Customer service, if this was about a year ago I was would say it is awful but there are things that I didn't think about like some people just don't want to be bothered when looking for there fav books, Now that I am a regular like seriously 2 to 4 times a week (I know I have a problem) it has gotten a lot better. The bottom line is the owners are good people and they will ask if you need help if you say no they will leave it at that. Second thing is the book selection. If your going in to pick up some modern books you might need to find a new shop now don't get me wrong they do carry some modern books and they have a decent selection of the top modern books that are popular, but the reason you come to this shop is BACK ISSUES. I mean you are trying to fill gaps in your collection they will have it. I can't tell you how good it feels when your going to go to a signing and you just need or want a couple more books from that that one artist or penciler and you call up "your shop" and they have it! If for some reason P Dots doesn't have it they will find it for you and call you back to say hey I found your book. The prices are very fair as well. You find something you like they won't use that against you to raise that prices. Third and final thing for this shop is the comic shop as a whole. Its a small shop but packs a huge punch! You walk in and the lighting is dim and you look around and at first thought you might be thinking that this doesn't have much to offer. So, you look in the tons of tons of long boxes that they have on the table and the kid in you wakes up and you find these books you had when you were young. You ask the guy (or girl) behind the counter if they have a certain book and that leads to a great conversation and they don't mind having. All in all this comic book shop is a fantastic place to get popular new and used books. If you have comic book question just ask they won't make you feel dumb for asking it. If I could give this shop six stars I would. Check it out you won't reget it. read more
