I had trouble finding a pair of tall boots in men's sizes online and so, on the recommendation of my trainer, I contacted Dressage Extensions about custom boots from Petrie. Gillian Sieker with the Retail Team assisted me through the process of taking the leg and foot measurements and selecting the materials. I liked Petrie's Sportive model since it zips from the back and Gillian endorsed that preference. She recommended that I go to the nearest Dover Saddlery shop for extra measurements which I did. After Gillian received the measurements she offered extremely valuable input on tweaking the measurements to ensure that the fit of the boots was right. WOW - I had no idea a dressage store could be so epic. My local tack shop is 80% H/J with a couple of dressage items thrown in. This has ROOMS of STUFF. Saddles, bridles, boots galore, coats, apparel... you name it. It was amazing to go here. The staff was also super friendly and helpful. Horse people can be the biggest snobs (love 'em to death and I'm one of them but it's true) and dressage has that reputation. But the staff here was so accommodating, showed me a variety of items and price points, and made sure I knew what prices the items I was looking at were (when the didn't have price tags) without making it seem like I couldn't afford that, which is not the easiest of feats. Deb was the lady who helped me and she spent tons of time with me on boots, whips, and more. Will absolutely go there again. read more

Dressage Extensions is the best dressage tack store! Andreena has so much patience and was so helpful. I own many bridles, brow bands and over 30 bits, yet none worked (either too small, or too large or just not right) for my horse now. For Christmas everyone gave me gift certificates so I could just go and get what was needed (a new double bridle and bits.) Yikes the choices, great choices.. I took and returned bridles, brow band (he has a larger brow) and bits until we found the perfect set. My horse is so happy! I so appreciated the consideration, options, knowledge and fun we had working everything out to perfection. It took 3 trips and they never lost patience with me... just a super experience. Although they are extremely convenient, the products are good and have an excellent selection, I won't come in here again. I've been a professional in southern CA (in this area) for 10 years and not only have a h/j show and sales barn, but work for the top Dressage trainers/riders in the area. However because I don't have a business card on me, although I do have my USEF card with professional h/j status, AND don't send my hunter/ jumper kids in to buy dressage products, I don't get 10% off, like all other "dressage" professionals. I think that's really bad customer service on the stores part. read more

With all the competition out there for horse tack, you'd think that a company would understand that customer service is crucial to their business. Dressage Extensions apparently thinks it is above the need for quality customer service. They have the rudest clerks who cheat you on shipping that is already outrageously expensive. The clerks talk to you as though you're dealing with the shopgirls from Pretty Woman before Julia Roberts' transformation. I had a bad experience with this company several years ago because of their snotty sales clerks and stopped doing business with them because of it. On the recommendation of a trainer, I tried them again to order a product the trainer recommended. HUGE mistake. I was cheated on the order on several levels. They overcharged for shipping and authorized a backorder I did not approve. Do yourself a gigantic favor and shop at one of the dozens of other tack shops on the internet. I have done business with Dover, Smartpak, Jeffers, Valley Vet, County Supply, Stateline, Arete to name just a few and I have Never had a problem until Dressage Extensions. I've been a little reluctant to make the long drive out from LA but am glad I did, they have a nice selection of products that are hard to find offline and the customer service was very good. None of the snootiness of LA Saddlery and the staff seemed to have a very solid knowledge of the products. A few things I'd like to change are ease of finding pricing on boots. They had some nice boots but if they're not under $700 or so there's no point in trying them, so I didn't really even consider the boot selection even though I'm actively seeking boots right now. I also would have liked to see more training videos on DVD. They had some really nice VHS videos but I haven't owned one of those players in twenty years, I don't even know where you get them anymore. All in all the store lived up to the hype and I will definitely be back the next time I need a very specific product that I doubt anyone else in town will have in stock. As for "Rachael J" above, are you kidding? You're slamming a business on Yelp because they wouldn't give you a professional discount despite the fact that you're clearly some sort of H/J trainer with no dressage credentials to speak of (I've never heard of you by the way and I know a lot of the "top trainers" in SoCal). You're whiny, entitled and shady, good for Dressage Extensions for denying you the trainer's discount, they clearly have an astute eye for trash. read more

This company was recommended by my coach and I can't say enough about their customer service! They don't pressure you and explain different options that you can choose from. I ended up sending a pair of boots back and they found the right size put them on hold and shipped them too me no questions asked and fast. I will so business with them in the future. read more

I am so disappointed with Dressage Extensions! After reading great reviews about the company, I decided to order a surcingle from them. Almost two years to the day after getting my surcingle, which has only seen moderate use, the side ring pulled free when my horse spooked. Imagine my surprise to see that it had been glued, not stitched, in place! Upon calling Dressage Extensions I was told that (a) horse equipment is not under warranty, (b) that it wasn't all that expensive anyway (!) - I paid $100, which to me seemed a good amount for a surcingle, (c) that horse equipment wasn't designed to take the trauma of a spook - and (d) that 2 years was a long time to have a piece of equipment - really? I am supposed to pay $100 every 2 years for a surcingle that I only use occasionally? Also, I learned that the product was from India, which was never mentioned in the catalog. Not the response I was expecting from a company that has such great reviews - makes me suspicious of who is doing the reviewing. Beware of doing business with Dressage Extensions - they don't back their products! read more
