The gallery existed first - and then they added the distillery tasting bar! The owner's own art is on display, along with a few other local artists. We didn't stop for a full tasting or cocktail since it was before lunch, but the bartender did offer us a sample of their new coffee vodka - delicious! What a fun stop for a stroll in Sausalito - highly recommend, especially if you didn't make it to Hanson Distillery's location in Napa.

He left the tech world, earned a degree in viticulture and enology from UC Davis, and cut his teeth at prestigious wineries like Ravenswood, Kosta Browne, and Dutton-Goldfield. There is an abundance of blooming flowers everywhere, and even a small beehive tucked away in the bushes. We did the tasting for $25 with 4 pours of mead. I was so moved to learn that it's owned by Jim Obergefell, the plaintiff in the landmark Supreme Court marriage equality case. I also love that proceeds from the wines go to support causes that uplift women, the LGBTQ+ community, and other social justice initiatives. It felt so good to know that each sip was also supporting meaningful change. Each wine has a unique name like the "19th Amendment" which is so cool.
