I use to live in the area and pretty much moved to a different city an hour away the time they opened. I was so sad I didn't get to experience them when I was living in the area 5 minutes away. I had saved to visit but decided to go during the Saturday Labor Day weekend. Our drive wasn't traffic at all. We came around 1 pm and walking in was greeted with then asked if we had a reservation. We didn't have a reservation and asked if walk ins are available. They said we can go to the bar area. We get there and I mentioned I'm up for what is close to sweet and was given 2 choices and was able to sample taste each. The last one had a lingering taste so I opted for the lady that was helping us first choice. We asked for water and were given Fiji water bottles. I thought it would be included on the bill but was only charged for the glass of wine. She thanked us and I said I wanted to enter a tip but she said they don't ask. There was a tip jar but I don't carry cash. (Bring cash) We walked around and found the iconic side of palm tree way There were a few people taking photos and we sat at a table near by. When there wasn't anyone we took pictures (some people were far down the way but they were just behind me in my photos) while I checked what else I could have photograph, a few women wanted to take theirs. They asked if we could take their pictures and I opted to since I was a photographer back in my day. They posed and I took a few then I suggested a bit of a pose for them and they loved it. Another one said she came all the way from New York and I took a few for her as well, which she also loved. I definitely want to come back again, especially with the great first experience. Absolutely gorgeous grounds and architecture, with some decent wines. The grounds are lined with 140 palm trees, including the tik tok viral palm tree road. The main building was designed by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, whose architecture firm produced some Apple Store and Blue Bottle Coffee locations. From the moment you check in you're captivated by the grounds. They pour six wines and we opted for the charcuterie board. The charcuterie board has a nice spread of olives, white & red wine salami, various cheeses and macadamia nuts. My favorite cheese was the Espresso White Cheddar. As for the wines my favorite wine out of everything i tasted wasn't on the wine flight but purchased separately. That would be the Emmolo Vineyards No 9 Sparkling Brut. The staff at the self service bar was very friendly but our personal tasting staff left a little more to be desired. We wish he would have broke down what flavor and scent notes each wine had, what charcuterie items paired well with what wines and remind us to rinse our glasses between tastings to avoid mixed flavor notes. He was more so in a rush and even after being tipped was sort of in a rush to get us out so he could get the table ready for the next party. We wound up getting two bottles of 2019 Grand Durif Petite Sirah to go, as when you spend over $100 your wine tasting is comped. Caymus forever will have my heart, but the Caymus Suisun Winery is most definitely worthy of a trip. It feels like a mini-vacation entering the grounds. Filled with palm trees and an overall sleek aesthetic with all the makings of a beautiful time out...with of course, the most beautiful wine selection. First and foremost, the grounds are huge! On the drive in we drove thru a few cute spots to eat and also explore like Manka's Corner, so would def recommend a full trip adventure of checking this area out including bites and sips. Caymus is executing a 'Music Under the Palms' now until early September from 5-7:30p on Thursdays, which essentially is an annual summer music series including live music and a theme, wines by the glass, and cheese & charcuterie. The evening we attended the music and theme of night was Hawaiian ~ we came dressed to impress, and enjoyed the sweet sounds of the ukulele and hip-moving dancing. Truly the aesthetic here is like checking into the lobby of your resort. Really just stunning, spacious, and a lovely time out! Love Caymus Suisun (and St Helena) winery and really enjoy their wines. This winery is newer than the St. Helena winery (built about two or three years ago. They focus on producing Grand Durif (Petite Sirah) and the Walking Fool red blend which is one of my favorites. This winery is really well laid out with plenty of room for small or large crowds and has a really good feel to it: plenty of light enters through all the windows, there are lots of places to sit and be social, and the staff is among the friendliest I have met. Additionally, the owner and his family are big supporters of the military (Thank you Mr Wagner and family!!!!). Being retired military, I appreciate they support those in uniform! One of my favorite red wines of all time. I have been drinking Cayums Cabs for years and I had never been here before. The grounds of the winery are incredible and aesthetically pleasing in every way. We had a tasting and loved every pour. It was a beautiful fall day with crisp air and plenty of sun. Our hostess let us talk and poured our tasting with candor and grace. She told us the history of the Caymus family and its beginnings. . There are plenty of photo ops all around. I love the fact that they give you a shot of espresso freshly brewed before you leave. Great way to get you back to reality as this place is a dream. The coffee is next to the wine shop where we all bought various bottles and picked up on the way out. Here no one insists on joining a wine club because guess what they don't need it! North Bay Jubilee 2026: I think this is a great event for a good reason celebrating everything North Bay has done for the community, but I think this celebration at Caymus-Suisun fell short. A second black eye coming off a poorly executed World Cup watch party. We arrived at 6:30 and by then one of the food stations was completely done. Maybe not allow people to take three plates at a time? One person was eating and waiting for seconds and thirds while we waited patiently in line. Classy ghetto. Another food station was serving half portions. The other station serving one chip with salsa. At 7:00, the ice cream ran out of two flavors. At 7pm for an event that was scheduled to end at 9:30. If you paid for VIP, you got sliders...and and a view of the trees. Parking was crowded but manageable. They had folks in golf carts ferrying people to 360. Reception was great and with a glass of rosè. Live music was great. Wine stations were great but honestly, given the crowded parking, how much alcohol should one consume and legally drive off the premises??? So, for $85 weeks had two glasses of wine, one chip, some dry pork tomato dish and ice cream. We didn't fell like experiencing more disappointment but doing to 360 but it looks like they had more offerings. Good venue with good wines just inexperience in hosting events. read more

I really enjoyed my visit to caymus! I had no idea it was so close to home. We decided to do a girls meet up and it is such a beautiful property! Be warned that there are two different sites. I went to the restaurant so if you are looking for the winery make sure you turn right when you drive in instead of going straight lol. If you don't have a resy they only let you do by the glass which kind of sucks but they did let us sample what sounded interesting so we can choose rather than going in blind. This is a must visit location if you'd like to try excellent wine and outstanding service in a very aesthetic location. We came here on Tuesday to celebrate my partner's birthday along with several family members; we had a party of seven people. Upon arrival, we were offered complimentary coffee in their main entrance while we waited to get seated. Once all of our party members arrived, they sat us in their outside tables. Be sure to check the weather. This area of town gets extremely hot during the summer. When we visited in early July, it really felt like it was 100° F. They were nice and understanding about it and offered us fans. Laura, our sommelier, was incredible, very knowledgeable about Caymus's history and wines, and just overall a kind and welcoming person. We loved all the detail and the personalized menus with our party's last name included. The wines are exceptional and Laura did an excellent job spacing each wine so that it did not feel rushed. To complement our wine we also ordered two charcuterie boards. I'd say the items here, including the cheeses, nuts, and meats, are very high quality. The seating for the tasting room has more outdoor seating which is nice because it is generally nice weather to sit outside and drink wine in this area! The charcuterie board seemed upgraded to have more variety of different palette snacks like pickles and green olives. Our selection of wine for the tasting was lovely, I didn't try a single wine I didn't like. Starting with the Chardonnay was perfect for the warm weather. I have also come to love the walking fool and 50th anniversary wines which were on the menu. Our wine enthusiast was very knowledgeable on the background of this specific wine and the rich history of the family and he gave us many details which was very interesting. Caymus is always an excellent spot because of their unique experience with the wine tasting and their little lattes you can get before you leave. We had such a great time spending the afternoon here. My cousin reserved a tasting and we had the wonderful Mandy pouring. Our table was inside with a great view of the vineyards. A staff member opened up the patio sliding doors which was perfect. The charcuterie was delicious, the fig and wagyu deli slice were my favorite. Mandy gave brief overviews of the family history, the story behind each wine we tasted and engaged with us during the tasting. It wasn't dull and she matched my group's vibes. We of course ordered several bottles and they were ready at the wine store. Take advantage of the scenery and take lots of pictures. We didn't walk the path and wished we did. First time at Caymus-Suisun Winery with a group of 7 girls for a birthday celebration on our way to Napa. This was our first stop. It was a little bit out of the way but totally worth it. The outdoor seating was beautiful, relaxing, and ideal for a group gathering. We enjoyed wine tasting at a much more affordable price than most Napa Valley wineries. They offered a great selection of wines, and the tasting was complimentary with any bottle purchase. Reservations are highly recommended. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches: a special birthday wine bottle and individual glasses for each guest to take home (They were celebrating Caymus 50th anniversary), which made the day feel even more memorable. But for the wine tasting though we finished every wine that was poured. Hey I am no wine expert but it was good so that's how I rated the wines that were in the tasting menu. Ofc the star or the show is the property. The main building is nice, bathroom is nice and even their wine shop. Everything in the property is nice. Their product is so decorated they don't need to apply membership fees because the product simply speaks for its self. I have been to both the Rutherford and suisun locations and they equally offer a unique photo worthy experience. You simply cannot go wrong with this vineyard. My favorite is their The Walking Fool" that is a red wine blend from Suisun Valley, California, made from Zinfandel and Petite Sirah grapes. It's fairly new here so it has a more modern look compared to the other winery's. Every wine that I've tasted was SO good! The main reason I came here was for their 50 anniversary wine. I tasted it at a restaurant once and man oh man! It was some of the BEST red wine I've ever tasted. (Cabernet Sauvignon) very smooth with lots of fruit and oak notes. I was introduced to another wine that I've added to my fave list which is called the Walking Fool. Very flavorful as well. I really wanted to love this experience. The wines were good and the place itself is beautiful... but unfortunately the customer service was not great. I made a reservation for a Thursday at 1 pm. It was just my friend who was visiting, my 6-week-old newborn, and me. When we arrived, the host was very rude while explaining their "21+ policy" and even said that we would be asked to leave if the baby started crying, out of respect for guests who came without kids. I completely understand that children can sometimes be disruptive, and I respect places that have policies around that. But first, those policies should be clearly communicated when making the reservation. And second, there's definitely a kinder and more respectful way to explain them.
