Called to see if we could bring our 3 year old golden in for hotspots. Had the same issue almost a year ago and was prescribed what was needed at that time. Well they couldn't take her (they were too busy) and obviously wouldn't prescribe the medicine over the phone. Was told to bring her to Norwell (Veterinary Hospital) or VCA. They made it a point to tell us she hadn't been seen in almost a year. Have had issues before with the rude women at the front desk. 3 strikes, we are out. There is a doctor whose name I forget, who was very nice in the past.. but do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!! Need lessons in customer service! read more

I have used Driftway Animal Hospital for 16 years (3 dogs, and 1 cat), and can honestly say that it is a pleasure to be a client there, especially in the last few years since a new owner (Dr. Burke) took over. I think this is one of the only privately owned clinics left in this area, and I love that, and proudly support it as a local business. Since the pandemic, every vet clinic in the country has had to double book themselves to try and keep up with the explosion of new pet owners, in addition to the decrease in Veterinarians in the U.S. due to a multitude of reasons. It's a shame that people here are complaining about being directed to an actual emergency room instead of a Vet clinic for serious emergencies, which is the right thing to do in the event of an emergency by the way, and every pet owner should know that. Vet clinics are not emergency rooms and are not equipped with a lot of the equipment needed for such. Most of my friends also have pets and go to Driftway, and the couple that don't compare notes with us and say that we are paying far less than they do at a different local Vet, so it seems that those complaining about the prices for actually getting good care for your pet don't understand that you shouldn't have a pet if you can't afford it. The Vets, Techs, and staff at Driftway are some of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever met, and would do anything they could to help an animal in need. If they say you need a specialist for your animal, doesn't that tell you that they want your pet to get the best care for their condition, and that if they just wanted to make money off of you, they would do a bunch of tests and make "best guess" diagnoses themselves?? Hopefully, everyone wants the best for their pets, and it is difficult when they get sick, but let's not just look for someone else to blame. I would recommend Driftway to anyone looking to receive quality care for their pets. I feel lucky to have them in my local area! read more

If your dog is sick please please stay away and go to an actual hospital with a team of specialists as you would do with for a human. My beloved Golden Retriever was misdiagnosed following thousands of dollars. I realize mishaps occur in every field of medicine, but this practice is interested in cash rather than care. We ended up going to CCVA and Angel and received excellent care elsewhere until he died from a treatable disease. It is usually a red flag when the treating vet owns the practice and clearly has conflicting business/medicine care ethics. read more

Kevin I went there last week with my cat Lily and was very pleased with the staff in general and specifically with Dr. Kimball who was just fantastic. She was thorough and explained everything she was doing and as equally important her competence was matched by her compassion. Sadly Lily was very sick and had to be put to sleep. It was heartbreaking but I was pleased this was also seen to by Dr. Kimball just today. She and the staff were just excellent and helped me through the very difficult process and I wouldn't have wanted anyone else attending to Lily's care in her final moments. read more

Best experience I've ever had with a vet's office. The staff is so friendly and caring and Dr. Siobhán Burke is the best vet I have ever had! She is thorough and knowledgeable and explains things in a way that you can understand. Hard to make appointments. Unaccommodating, I'll take my pets someplace else

Unless you are prepared to walk in and be referred to another clinic because they cannot handle the procedure, I do not recommend this place. Then they will suggest that you are not a caring owner. And by the way, they printed a $600 invoice of suggested treatments (that we paid for) before anyone besides the receptionist saw our dog. We then were referred to VCA Hanover who were awesome and only charged us $200. And they gave our dog medicine to help him. Weird - I know. read more

We recently have had several visits to Driftway Animal Hospital with our aging (slightly wacko) schnauzer and the staff has been exceptional. They are very friendly and caring and went out of their way to accommodate us. We also had a good experience with the boarding and will definitely use them again. Over the years with many dogs, this vet hospital is as good as it gets--highly recommend!! read more

Been going here since 2011. Front desk staff has traditionally been great but the girl working their today was extremely rude (not the first time recently). I arrived about 7 minutes late due to pouring rain and traffic and the first thing she says to me is "you are late, we have to reschedule you cause we took the next person already". Didn't go over well. Dr. Burke (who has always been great) was nice enough to "fit me in", but if you took the next person already, how much time was scheduled for my appointment in the first place? Her "boss" wasn't any friendlier. read more

We have been taking our two cats here for 4 years. The issue isn't the vet care it is the vet tech care and attitude. I have several occasions where we were taken over 1/2 hour late and edited 1.5 hours to lion clip and soft paw the cats. The wait is very variable and don't take any appointment if it's not the first of the day. Secondly, the first few lion clips and soft paw placements were fine. Then on the third or so visit the soft paw weren't the wrong size/ the cats " were angry" etc. I know animals can have various moods just like people so the first time I was told this I understood completely. The second and third time this happened I was more surprised. There were issues placing both sizes of the soft paws they had asked me to bring/ cats were angry etc. The third time, yes I was late I admit, the cat couldn't be trimmed because she was angry again but was also told they had a new girl on the desk, were really short staffed for this appointment on a Saturday AND the cat was angry so no clipping was done. I would have rescheduled if the appointment was booked incorrectly. That's fine but I came and only 1/2 was done. I'm not overly mad just irritated. Just not sure why so many issues lately when we had none the first visit or two? read more

After using Driftway for a little over a year and being quite satisfied with the care our dog received we had an incident about a month ago. Our dog was involved in a fight with a friends dog and received a bite on the paw that needed stitches. Upon calling the hospital on a weekday morning during business hours we were informed they could not see our dog as she did not have an appointment. Needless to say we were a bit put off and this was the first time I have ever been informed I could not bring my pet in for a minor emergency during working hours. We were referred to an emergency vet clinic. Long story short after another call and speaking with the office manager who was short and rude with us we sought services elsewhere. We were very disappointed with the manner with which we were treated, especially since we were already well established clients. We will no longer be using Driftway Animal Hospital and have established a relationship with another vet who understands not only the importance of quality animal care but also maintaining a positive relationship with their human clients. read more
