They have a mint latte on their summer seasonal menu that is the *chefs kiss* the perfect refreshing drink for the hot days ahead. My kids got the vanilla steamers which they loved and my husband got the chai which was incredibly spicy and delicious. "Hottest Coffee Spot in Truckee + Athletic Gear Stuck on Walls!" I have been to the sister store in Incline Village, but this was my first time here. I think this location is quite a bit larger. The business is located in a historical train station. As soon as you walk, in you feel welcome--Fun music plus fun decor. Of course, the entire theme of this business is sports, especially snowboarding. I bet the owners are snowboarding when they're not brewing coffee. That's probably also where they find staff. Check out the walls. There are special displays honoring star athletes residing in Truckee. It's sort of like a Smithsonian Museum, but a lot smaller They stick their athletic equipment on to the wall. So there are running shoes, snowboards, bikes, snowmobiles, etc. You get the idea. There's also a special exhibit to a famous photographer, that features his tripod. I didn't think the tripod overly exciting, but I still thought this was a classy touch. I hope someday to be featured on these sacred walls. On a cool spring afternoon, my wife and I each got the chocolate protein drink. Very tasty! I appreciate any excuse to drink or eat chocolate. It's pretty sweet, but believe it or not they do not add sugar, just honey. So not only is it tasty, it's healthy as well. I had a chance to chat with one of the friendly baristas, Kam, who made me a delightful Pine Latte. I've never had anything like this! Who knew you could drink Sage? Another Barista, Abigail, was also super friendly and inviting. What wonderful employees! Where do you find these people? Besides the large community table and other inside cables, there are lots of seats on the balcony outside. But since it was about -40°, I decided to stay in today. In warmer weather, I think these outdoor seats would be a good option. So my very first visit to this shop was a good one. Cute little coffee shop off the main road in downtown Truckee. Love the name of the shop! There is some seating indoors but it's small so it's good for grab-and-go. I ordered an iced matcha latte - I appreciated that they had oat milk. The matcha was mixed in properly and it was a nice smooth drink, just wish it was sweeter or that they had an option to add sweetener of some kind like some coffee shops offer. I tried my husband's sweet latte and it was not my cup of tea (or coffee I guess) at all. It was a combo of bitter and watery. If you are a coffee drinker like I am, then you'll love this place! The drink I had was a Carmel latte. It was FAR better than anything I've had in a while. The espresso shots were good and strong. The milk was foamed perfectly. And the Carmel was just perfect. All of the flavors in the drink were perfectly balanced. I couldn't ask for more! My wife had a drink called the pine something or other. It was very good, in an unusual flavor concoction. I liked it and if you are in the mood to try something different I would recommend this. The decor of the building is awesome! The building has been very nicely preserved. And the updates they have done go very well with the original open beam construction of the building. I LOVE the slab and black iron tables, and I love the wooden beam and Edison bulb lighting. Along with fresh modern Arbor snowboards on Yelp wall with signatures I'm guessing are pros? Such a huge fan of this coffee - I usually buy the bag of beans locally in Reno every week so I was so excited to try it from their store in Truckee. It's such a cute little coffee shop, with ski decor around the shop and super cute apparel. My husband and I both loved our breakfast sandwiches- he got the prosciutto and pepper jack sandwich which had this sweet jam of some sort on it, it was so good, and I got the avocado feta and sprouts sandwich which was served on a loaded up bagel (I think it was an everything bagel?) and it was equally as good as my husbands, but tasted totally different. The avocado was more of a mash/spread and complimented so well with all the bagel seeds. And I literally could not get over the coffee - I got a cold brew but added in a house made syrup (such a sucker for a house made sweetener) that was pine flavored which was with rosemary and thyme and tasted super earthy and interesting, I could not have enjoyed it more. Ok. I came here 3 times in two days. It's a nice environment in Truckee for getting a coffee. The seating and layout is very straightforward. My first cold brew here was very good. It was dark in color, the beans used were a dark roast, it was very strong and rich. We did ask for a few cortados and there was just so much milk added, it was more of a latte. I came back on Sunday around 8:20am on 6/12/22 to get some more coffees. I ordered another cold brew and a cortado with an extra shot and I asked if it could be made with half of the milk as usual. I was told they certainly could. It was not busy in here. The cortado came with milk filled to the tippy top of the cup. I get that people go into autopilot so, I get it. But it wasn't delivered as ordered. Here is the unforgivable part. I'm waiting for my cold brew. I'm watching the Caucasian woman working the register go pour my cold brew. The canister was near empty so she filled up my glass about half way. I see her go into the back, presumably to get another cold brew batch. She came back empty handed. She then proceeded to fill the remainder of my cup with water from the clear jug with a spigot to the right of the brewed coffee stands. What. The. Fuck. This isn't a mistake. This isn't an accident. This is just an act of laziness and no fucks given. I'm watching her do this. I point it out to my group. They say "are you gonna say something?" Nope. I didn't trust her to draw a bath at this point. Why would someone who cares so little start to care the second time around? So I just took my watered-down, dirty-dishwater cold brew on the chin. How could I not discover this coffee place sooner? Best flat white that I've ever had! The milk foam is so velvety and weightless! We also tried the pine and rosemary latte, loved it as well! The syrup isn't overpowering and compliments the medium roast. Their beans are roasted to a perfection: caramel, chocolaty, and hints of floral notes. Service is very attentive and friendly. Love this new coffee shop that's come to Truckee! It has the most beautiful interior, with lots of low hanging lights and long wooden tables. You can't sit inside right now, but they have a lot of seating (bar seating, community tables, soft cushioned seating) and I'm looking forward to being able to hang out here in the future. I ordered the Purple Haze latte, which is one of their specialty lattes with lavender and vanilla flavoring. It was delicious. The lavender flavor wasn't overpowering and it definitely woke me up! They have a small selection of baked goods, but it looks like their main food selection is the toast options they offer. If you're looking for a large baked good selection, I'd hit up Zuri or Coffeebar. But if you're looking for toasts, this is the place to go it seems!! I didn't order any of the toasts, but it looks like they had a lot of great varieties to choose from! Staff was very friendly and helpful! It's also very clean! It only took about 5 minutes to get my drink, but there was only one or two parties ahead of me. I can see it taking longer.
