    We chose Weaver Insurance because they were responsive and friendly -- which continued throughout…read moreour experience. They were quick to reply, courteous, pleasant, and available when we contacted them. As a broker, they do not provide insurance themselves but sell policies from insurance carriers. When we needed to file a claim, their limits became clear. Here is our experience: When we had a claim, their recommendation was that we not file it, citing the possibility of denial and potential premium increases. This was an uninformed and incorrect recommendation. As we asked questions, it became clear they lacked the expertise to help us analyze our policy or advise us on how best to proceed. With outside help, we decided to move forward with filing the claim. At that point, Weaver Insurance introduced us to the insurance carrier -- and then disengaged. They did not assist us in preparing or submitting the claim, did not advocate on our behalf, and did not follow up with the insurer to help move the process forward. As they stated to us, evaluating claims or determining whether the settlement was appropriate "falls outside their scope of services." They fully deferred to the insurance carrier's investigation and judgment. Fortunately, we did receive a substantial settlement, thanks in part to outside help, the carriers third-party claims adjuster, and the insurance company. In our view, Weaver Insurance added no value to the process. We needed them to have the expertise to support our claim, and they did not have it. Their approach raised questions about whether their incentives are aligned with their clients' interests. We understand why Weaver Insurance has been successful -- they are friendly and responsive -- but when it mattered, they did not have the skills to support our needs. Based on our experience, I recommend a broker with expertise who will support you through the full insurance process.
