The actual process of buying a car here was awesome. The sales person was very patient with my daughter and helped her feel comfortable with her first car buying experience. I cannot say enough good things. The bad review is because they only do loans with Bridgecrest. When my daughter totaled her new car, Bridgecrest has done nothing but delay and avoid TAKING Allstate's money. Probably so they can accrue interest. This is causing my daughter to have to rent a car for her job that she travels with. This is the second car I have bought from Drivetime, I had no problems with my first car and loved it. unfortunately, it got T-boned and totaled. So I bought a second car from them, and within the first day of driving it, the brakes started squealing. I called the dealer, and they said to call Silver Rock, but told me it probably won't be covered because breaks would be normal wear and tear. I would agree if it were my wear and tear, but it is not. I can't call Silver Rock till tomorrow, and I hope they agree with me, because if not, this review will lose some stars. My current concern is just how good their multi-point inspection is if they completely missed the fact that the brakes are bad? Not sure I trust that inspection. I bought a car from drive time with in 3 1/2 months my electrical system went out I called drive time they told me to call silver something cuz I was insured from top to bottom when I called they said take the car to fire stone I did that I had to pay out of pocket to get it repaired because they said it wasn't covered . On the 4 the month I took it for a oil change and they discovered many other things wrong with the vehicle . I would not recommend drive time to my worst enemy . There vehicles are garbage paying 900$ monthly for a lemon dnt buy a car from them . Then when you call it's your fault . I literally just bought my car from drive time on Xmas Eve so it's been 45 business days that I've had the 2022 Nissan Sentra and the key fob went out. The key in the fob was not cut it was still straight and drive time only gave me the one key. I figured drive time would at the least cut the key in the fob but Evan was real short and curt. Adament that the warranty didn't cover it. I needed a car bad so I agreed to pay 550/mth not including insurance and made 2 pymt so far. Really disappointed strapped down with pymt just sent out again no cash to call locksmith...the battery is good on the fob...it's the fob is broke and so am I... I applied for car financing online and got approved. I also talked with one of the sales persons as well. I made an appointment for today and went in to get a new car and was met with the rudest, snottiest, non helpful person I ever met. She started to talk over us, and didn't listen either. She talked to us with a very rude demeanor. After getting harassed for a few minutes the sales lady basically told us that the company is prejudice against anyone that is self employed and that they will not accept self employment as a job. Be aware they will force you to buy an unwanted extended warranty or up your interest rate, which I have since found out is not legal. I went into DriveTime with high expectations and I was extremely dissatisfied. Finding a car is hard enough as it is and I thought DriveTime was going to be a different experience. The day before my appointment, the sales lady was emailing me back and forth about the cars I was interested in. I told her I was pre-approved with my credit union and which cars I was in the market for. When I went to my appointment, the woman was with another customer that lasted 30 minutes past my appointment time. The man behind the counter offered another salesman but I felt it was right for the sales lady I was corresponding with to help me since she knew what I was looking for. I end up test driving two cars and I'm feeling pretty good about them. After the test drives we go to her desk and we start discussing my loan. She goes to the guy behind the counter who I'm assuming was her boss (?) and she comes back 30 minutes later and tells me DriveTime doesn't work with my bank. So, if you know what bank I have BEFORE I COME IN then what's the point of having me come in at all? To coerce me into financing a car with you? What a fucking waste of time. I didn't appreciate them telling me that they should run my credit to see what interest rare they could offer me, but the lowest they "usually" offer is 7%. I told the woman I didn't find it necessary to run my credit when the interest rate with my credit union is lower than theirs. I purchased a car for my daughter at the end of December 2019. The car we purchased was a 2017 and was over $10,000. The salesman was very nice until we told him we would not be financing through Drivetime but with our own credit union. Apparently this is how they make their money as they do not make commission from the sale of the vehicle. After that his whole attitude changed, he treated us more like in inconvenience to his day and tried to pass us off to another employee. We should have walked away at that point but we were already set on purchasing that car. Long story short it has now been almost 5 months and we are still driving around on temp dealership tags because they somehow are unable to get the title to the car. They have given us the run around at every turn, no customer service of any kind, no business ethics, or just plan professionalism of any kind. I originally got a Jetta from drive the throttle was going out on the fifth day that I had the car It wasn't safe. Drive time manager made me feel like they were doing me a favor by taking back the Jetta because I was over the five day return policy. I got into a 2015 Nissan Altima I started to have issues with the current car and found out the car is worth 8,000 and I'm paying 19,000 for it! With a 400 car payment. Benjamin my original salesman didn't show me all the complete car fax which wasn't even a car fax report they use a different company to show the repair and crash history and it doesn't give you the full report that you would get with a full car fax. I recently found out the car had air bags that had been Deployed and has been in an accident. Currently I had to replace the tiers,tail light and my brakes! I have only had the car for not even a MONTH!!!!!. When I confronted Benjamin about the car being up and under and experiencing problems he told me "he didn't know what the fuck to tell me". Drive time refused to help me and take back the car. I am a student and I work two jobs all I wanted was a reliable car. Drive time cars are not reliable and are over priced . I wouldn't recommend ever going to a drive time. They hype up your credit and make you think you are getting a good deal they will say anything to get your business. Keep in mind you have to pay a car payment every time you get paid from your job. I feel like I was scammed and taken advantage of as a first time car buyer. I have been thinking of getting a car for my wife and kids for awhile now. We have shared a car for over a year and it has not been easy on any of us. We have different work and school schedules that does not allow for one vehicle. We had visited many "Used Car Lots" in the area and found those cars to be Extremely USED. Finally my wife says let's go to Drive Time maybe we can find something that we all like. It took us two days to settle in for some serious looking on the lot. I saw trucks and SUV's that really appeared to be super clean and affordable and within the budget. There was not up sales involved. That made for a more relaxed shopping experience. My salesman was named Chris and he was fresh to the area. We spoke on many things except for the car. He then suggested that we go crunch some numbers and find out what we qualify for. It's been my experience with having bad credit that you usually will qualify for the ugliest, rat infested vehicle(s) they have on the lot. He came with a list of cars that were on the lot, and then my wife saw the car she wanted. It was a 2006 Toyota Highlander. Perfect for her to drive and more important perfect for the kids. Chris asked me if I would like to take it for a test drive. I looked at my wife and could see that she really wanted that car (I wanted the Hummer H3 :) . But gave in to her needs, rather than my primal urges. I told her to go and take the ride and see what she like about it, without me there. It was my turn next. The first thing I discovered was the 3rd row seating where the kids would fully enjoy sitting mainly because they would be too far for mom or dad to swat them. Then I looked up. And there it was! A moon roof. I always wanted a car with a moon roof. I looked around the car and found it to be as clean as a new car on a car lot. No torn or worn out seating. No scuff marks, no smell of smoke. This car was clean. really clean and well taken care of. The drive was not all that exciting given the traffic of the day. But my mind was made up. We would get this car. My 6 year old daughter closed her eyes as if she was making a wish and screamed with pure joy when I said yes. I always believed that there is a place for everybody.
