I purchased a 2020 Hyundai Venue and just two days later, I found myself stranded on the side of the road with my children for hours while trying to get home after visiting my sister because the transmission started having issues. Now, I'm once again without a car. I will say that the warranty is covering the repairs and will reimburse me for a rental car or Uber expenses. However, after spending nearly all of my money on purchasing this vehicle and only keeping a few dollars for myself, I simply cannot afford to pay out of pocket upfront for transportation. When I bought this car, it had approximately 50,000 miles on it, and in the five months since, I have put fewer than 6,000 miles on the odometer, yet I am now facing a catastrophic mechanical failure that the shop has quoted between $6,000 and $7,000 to repair. It is physically impossible for a well-maintained, inspected vehicle to develop a cracked engine block, a cracked radiator, and a blown cylinder head within such a short window of time unless these issues were pre-existing, masked, or the result of gross negligence during your "reconditioning" process. I was sold a "lemon" under the guise of a reliable family vehicle, and your staff's refusal to help me--stating that I cannot even trade the vehicle because I haven't reached a one-year ownership mark--is a predatory and heartless response to a crisis your product created. Because of this car's failure, I have been forced to stop working, and I am currently unable to transport my children to school, leaving my family in a state of financial and logistical ruin while I am still expected to make payments on a vehicle that is essentially a pile of scrap metal. Your company claims to help people get on the road, but instead, you have scammed me into a high-interest loan for a faulty machine and are now leaving me stranded without a single solution or ounce of accountability. I am demanding that DriveTime Corporate intervene immediately to authorize a collateral swap for a functional vehicle or cover the total cost of these repairs, as I will not be silenced while my livelihood is destroyed by your deceptive business practices. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! Every car in their lot is a lemon and severely overpriced for the issues that come with it. My car has been in the shop for nearly as long as I've had the car itself. You will be lied to and told they go through extensive checks, mine hadn't been checked at all and was given with me not having an oil change for 2 years and a broken transmission within 2 months. They sell random cars they get and hope that they're not broken. After 5 days or 30 depending on the lies they say, they will tell you without buying the warranty that probably won't cover the issues you're having, they're unable to help you because your car has had 5 more issues only 2 months into having it, which mine did, including pretty expensive ones. Overall one of the biggest legal scams of America, I'm begging anyone looking into getting a car to avoid DriveTime at all costs. read more

Update: the manager and team did take into consideration the trouble I was having and how my experience was going so they did finally reach back out to me and make arrangements to rectify the situation in which case they did make things right & I was very happy, I appreciate Tee & sequan for all of their help and customer service they provided in order to be sure that I would have a better experience and have a reliable car, I am very happy and very appreciative for their time and efforts and after it's all said and done they did address my concerns and correct the situation, thank you guys again for EVERYTHING! I was asked by the representative at the Conyers, ga location how do I get paid, I said biweekly... When the women told me to initial where it said biweekly I said what is this for, she said, oh that's just so we know you get paid biweekly and I said, my payments are $305 monthly like online and like you stated and she said YES.... Nope, went online to the lien holders website and my car payment was made to be biweekly..so I am paying $305 every two weeks for a used 2017 car. I called and another women answered the phone and was RUDE..she said sorry the car is yours now, we don't take cars back after 5 days...what kind of illegal crap is this place running??? If you're thinking about getting a car from drive time in Conyers Ga take your money and run I have only had my car for a month had to take it to the shop because something was going on with my Turbo found out there was a recall since 2019 so it was repaired for free then I had a coolant intake issue the next day after I picked it up from the mechanic now today I picked it up again and it's a intake manifold issue . I have called and asked several times if I could trade it for another car or a car in the same price range they told me no because it's been off the lot for 5 days I made my first payment recently and these people refuse to help me I don't have that kind of money to keep paying for repairs that their so-called warranty does not cover . Man the worst place to go and get a car these people will lie to get you in a car I only had for a month and then lied about the mileage I drove fortunately I took pictures of my miles before they came and repoed the car they lied about my warranty I had the car for less than a month the break lights were coming on and off whenever they wanted to car would stop accelerating mid drive I got the car at 54,000 miles they came and got it, it was only 74,000 they said I drove 50,000 miles since I've had it and I work and live in the area. I recently purchased a vehicle from Drivetime and had a good experience. I worked with Chase who got me approved and presented me with my options. I wanted to stay in a Luxury vehicle so I test drove one of the vehicles on their lot and loved it but it was high mileage. Chase was patient with me and located a later model vehicle, same make, with only 39,000 miles on it at another location. They always program gave me the chance to comfortable make my down payment and I'm the proud new owner of a reliable vehicle for my son and I. Only two things I'm not a fan of is the super high interest rate, which I expected a high one due to low credit. The other other thing is that I looked on my Carfax and it said the car was overdue for an oil change. I was told the oil is changed on their vehicles but there is no sticker indicating a recent oil change. Only emissions check...so I will be getting that done this week. I recently got a car from drivetime Conyers 2 months ago. The car that I brought from dt just broke down on me 3weeks ago. So I called dt and told them my situation. They then told me to car Aeverex the company that takes car of issuses when your car breaks down. So I called Aeverex and told them my car had broke down, they told my to get it towed to this shop called the Oil pit on memorial dr stone Mountain ga. So that I could find out whats wrong with it. I had it towed they gave me a diagnosis on it and told me that I needed a new throttle body and maf sensor, and it would cost me $840 to fix a total of $990 after I paid for the diagnostic test. So I paid the 50 for the test and called the Chevy dealership to see how much it would be for them to fix it and they told me $475. Of course I had my car towed again now to the chevy dealership. Before he just fixed what I said was wrong with my car he gave it another diagnostic test which was a $100. After the test he called to inform me that my throttle body and maf sensor was good and that I had a bad catalytic converter which would be $900 to $3000 to fix. I then called dt customer service and told them that I only had the car for 2 months and that I can't afford to pay to fix it and pay my car note. To make a long story short I am still without a car and still paying a $440 car note on a car that broke down after having it for 2 months.
