On the way to the destination they stopped for lunch and arrived at 2:45pm. The condo I am moving in has strict rules that they have to leave the building at 5pm. They succeeded to bring everything upstairs but no time was left to assemble back what the disassembled. They are of huge help with what I will call "in house moving, like pre/tenovations, doing oil finish floors ( had to be out of the house, or even a major re decoration, when one is moving furniture and large rugs around. While I cannot say it's always availablble, he has been able to get 3 people I've when I've called and said "Help! I need the first floor packed up and moved to sunroom by TOMORROW!!! ) Well, he's helping me a pinch again. My mother is moving into independent living. And I called to say, "can you get the minimum needed into her new Inddpendent living unit TOMORROW? Well, he had a crew doing a move that wasn't deployed all day. He's sending them up Belle Meade, getting bed, sofa, chairs, cocktail table do at a minimum, she can get in to he new place , and we will follow with packing and unpacking the balance of the items shortly. I've been very happy with Richard, and will do a good guess on the number of hours it will take. He is transparent with costs eg, crew runs $145 per hour (can't recall if that is two or 3 person crew) and in My circumstance, the drive is at least snd hour -1:2 hrs one way there is a fuel charge of $125...so it's easy to see how much time, vs the fuel cost is...who's is importany with gas/ diesel running &5: gallon, snd truck getting what? 10m-13mpg ( equal to hubbuy's suburban). Three movers arrived, led by a foreman named Steve. They were instructed to place the sofa and love seat in a designated dumpster area. During the move, the team used our bathroom while working in the bedroom. Shortly after they left, my daughter arrived home and immediately realized that her gold, diamond, and pink sapphire necklace -- a deeply sentimental graduation gift she'd worn almost daily for three years -- was missing. It had been safely in the bedroom that morning, and she hadn't worn it that day due to her outfit choice. We searched thoroughly. It was gone. I texted Steve immediately and asked for his manager's contact information. When he called back, I explained what happened. His first response was dismissive: "Great Movers isn't responsible for stolen items." No empathy, no concern, no sense of accountability. Over the next three days, I called the company multiple times and left messages for management (Saad or anyone in charge) -- not a single call was returned. Zero acknowledgment. As if that wasn't enough, I then received a call from building management saying the movers had dumped my furniture next to a pizza shop's dumpster, upsetting the business owner. I had clearly told them to place the items inside the designated dumpster area. When I called again, the dispatcher promised to contact Steve. Steve later claimed I "never said anything" about a designated area -- an outright lie. He finally returned to move the furniture to the proper spot, but even then, he set it next to the dumpster until I told him to put it inside. When I again brought up the stolen necklace, he was cold, sarcastic, and emotionless. I told him I would be filing a police report and that if the necklace was returned, there would be no questions asked. His only reply was to ask "where it was located." It is now November 5, and I have still received no response from Great Movers management. This experience has been deeply upsetting, not only because of the stolen jewelry and unprofessional conduct, but also because of the company's complete lack of integrity, accountability, and compassion. My advice: DO NOT USE GREAT MOVERS. If you value your belongings -- and basic human decency -- find another moving company. Great Movers = Great Disappointment.
