I can confirm the Mark S. review below is also current. Upon the recommendation of our realtor we coordinated with Jason who did not honor two commitments, especially an agreed to packing date. I contacted him 3 weeks in advance of the move and had tentatively set 2 options for dates. Discussed the first date a week before and thought we were all set (with written estimate). When confirming the Monday a week before the job he replied they could not do the job. I then had to scramble for another service. They are unreliable and as Mark S. said, moving is stressful enough, why deal with a company that won't honor their word. read more

I've moved around a lot in my life (including two cross country moves) and can say with confidence that working with Jason at Casella and Sons has been the best moving experiences I have had. He has integrity...which is so important when you are trusting your whole life (essentially) to a mover. I first used them a year ago - they did such a great job, when I recently had to move myself and my fiance from two townhomes he was my first and only call. His team all had a great attitude - which I commend - keeping spirits up in 90 degree heat while lugging furniture up and down flights of stairs is impressive. I cannot thank this company for being so perfect in many ways. You can tell they are busy from the minute you call them but hang in there they will get back to you and everything from there on works like a fine tuned machine. They showed up on time even a few minutes early and worked non stop like they've obviously did this many times before. They carried really big heavy furniture around corners and down stairs that made me cringe but they made it look like a piece of cake! Unloaded and put everything back together and placed where we asked. I wouldn't think of using anyone else. Unreliable. Bad business practices They do not honor reserving move dates. Moving is stressful enough, movers should not compound the problem, September 16th they came for a free estimate. Everything was fine. We told them we wanted to move the end of October. They said OK no problem. When we called October 21st to finalize the move, they said they were booked and couldn't move us, they were to busy! They didn't have the decency to call us to let us know before hand that they couldn't do our job. Would never recommend them! read more

I've used Casella moving company 2 times myself, and my in-laws used them 2 times as well! Jason is great to work with, accomodating and great with communication. His team always arrives on time, very prepared with tools/wraps/extra boxes, are polite and hardworking. I don't know how they do it but they can move things out and into the most impossible places with ease (especially arcade machines )! The guys were kind enough to even carry a few things to my car, while I was packing up too! I'd highly recommend them to everyone and use them again if I ever need to move again. Jason replied to my emails promptly and arranged an inspection of my apartment at my convenience. After looking around and taking notes, he emailed me a quote that was very competitive and even agreed on my moving date - Super Bowl Sunday. His group of 5 arrived on time and were all very polite and hardworking. They finished the job 2 hours earlier than estimated. Jason knows his stuff and is on top of his game. We had a big sofa that needed to go thru a narrow stairwell that turned 90 deg to the basement. I don't know if it was sorcery but it was not just physically possible to fit that sofa there. In fact I already suggested it probably had to go to the garage. Next thing I know the sofa was already set in front of the basement tv and Jason had this no sweat smirk on his face. :) Moving is hard for us mortals and Jason and his crew made it easy, and at a very good and fair price. I highly recommend Cssela moving. 1] Estimate and payment exactly the same (Packing, Moving, Unpacking) 2] Timing of work as given 3] Extraordinary packing. Done quickly and securely. 4] No damage to any packed items. One box contained fragile items packed with heavy ones due to the items kept in one cabinet. The heavy could have easily broken the fragile. Not one item damaged. 5] Unpacking was kind of spooky--in a good way. The placement of items were as close to what I would have done as possible. There were very few items I moved in any major way. The loading of the new refrigerator was almost as if my mind had been read. 6] I assumed I would have to clean a display cabinet with glass doors and shelves. All that was needed was light dusting. 7] Jay and staff were friendly, gracious and sometimes funny, which is welcome when moving. (I needed help to continue arranging items after the move and hired one of the women who packed and unpacked because of her abilities. Moving is awful. Casella make it less awful. They are the best movers and will not BS you. If they think something is going to break, they will let you know (it didn't). I was downsizing, and not everything worked out with the move, but they made the best of a difficult situation. These guys are competent, hard-working, good humored and the price was excellent, too. Needed to move a couple of rooms of furniture about 25 miles on a Sunday. These guys with travel completed the move start to finish in 3.5 hours. Nothing was damaged in any way - they packed and wrapped everything before putting it on the truck, including a 4' x 5' painting. All movers were pleasant and professional. Cost was reasonable. Casella & Sons have been awesome in every sense of the word. I hired them to move a two bedroom apartment. Jason arrived on time to give me a precise quote of the job, and he and his guys arrived the day of the move punctually on the dot. They did an amazing job packing, carrying and loading everything. I was also going to have them store all my belongings, including valuable and delicate electronics, in their storage. They even promised me to keep the more delicate objects in their own office! After three months, they packed everything into three UHaul UBoxes and helped me arrange the shipment of everything across the country all the way to California. The packing of my furniture into the Uboxes was impressive: everything professionally packed, wrapped and fit tightly into the Uboxes. The professionalism and help with which they did this last leg of their work was outstanding. As if all of this weren't enough, they put three locks onto my Uboxes (I had forgotten to leave that) and ship me the keys all the way to California!!
