I had high expectations for this place and don't get me wrong it was still good but not worth how much we paid for. Burgers are about 15-18 dollars and they are just a normal burgers. From all the photos I have seen they look so much bigger advertised, but was kind of disappointed when got my food. Also, asked for no red onions and they were still put on but I just took them off. No biggie. I also got a coconut cream latte and that was pretty good but really sweet. If you like sweet then it is perfect for you but it is definitely not a shot of espresso with milk. It tastes just like it was regular coffee with milk and syrup. Everything here was about 26 dollars. I have been here before as well and ordered the salad and that was not the best either but I wanted to give them another try. Maybe I will try something else next time. read more

What a delightful surprise during our visit to Mt Shasta. After a long beautiful and hot hike in the Castle Crags and PCT, we were looking for a place to rehydrate and eat. Yaks has great menu options, wonderful service, and the cold beer and amazing food was a 10 out of 10. I loved the veggie peanut Thai bowl. As a huge garlic lover, I often find myself disappointed by garlic fries being dry, barely tasteful, or simply fries with sprinkles on top. This is the true garlic lovers paradise. There are vegan and gluten free options, I got a vegan bowl, and be warned, the bowl is FULL, there is no room to mix anything. I would have loved to join for brunch since that menu had more choices for gluten free, but the brunch menu is not all-day. They have a funny ordering system, where you're given a funny label and someone calls it out over the speaker. There's very little room inside the place and often someone had to squeeze past us to use the restroom. There's often a long line to order. Made in-house, these buns were sweet and soft (but not as sweet as potato buns or Hawaiian roll)- legitimately incomparable to any other burger bun I've had. We got the Va Voom burger and Chipotle Chicken sandwich. I would recommend either but personally liked the burger better. I loved their fries. Well crisped. And while I prefer my breakfast burritos gooey, theirs was too extreme in terms of soft texture. The panini was okay. But I'm not a fan of the crumbly bacon, reminds me of out of the jar Bacos. The staff allowed two dirtbags to ramble loudly about heroin, jail, etc. Then one bothered a small family, who were obviously uncomfortable. I've been here twice! Once when I was camping around Mt. Shasta and more recently, on a roadtrip! On the way to Portland was the cutest town called Mt. Shasta in norcal! The views here are gorgeous, the people are so friendly, and the food here is a HIDDEN GEM! Our group stopped by Yak's to eat and even tho us two weren't that hungry, we all agreed that these were prob the best breakfast burritos we've ever had.. After a visit to Burney Falls, I decided to stop here for lunch. It's about just an hour away in a small little town. It reminds me of Solvang near Santa Barbara, but with a close up nice view of Mt. Shasta. I ordered the creamy chicken pesto panini and my boyfriend got the chipotle chicken panini. The sandwiches were huge and came with a side of salad. You can definitely share the panini if you're not super hungry. I like the thick bread that was used -- it had a nice crunch on the crust but very soft towards the center of bread. The downside was that the bread broke easily. We both thought the chicken pesto was much tastier than the chipotle chicken. We both were stuffed at the end of our meal and it was a nice somewhat healthy lunch. I also got the coconut creme bowl of goodness? It's a tea latte and I got it with oat milk that was recommended by the cashier/barista. OH MY GOODNESS, one of the best lattes ever.
